“Hello, Lee Hyukjae is currently resting right now, you may either visit him later or silently sit here,” The nurse pointed to the blue chair that was hidden by the wall to his right.
Donghae stared at her for a moment, thinking why she was so formal and restricted when talking then nodded, returning the smile and tried to feel comfortable in the chair. He sneakily pulled the chair forward when she wasn’t looking to get a better look at Eunhyuk. Eunhyuk had his eyes closed, dreaming of whatever it was that made him spread a beautiful smile on his face. He still was a little pale, but thanks to the treatment, there was some color back. Donghae swore that the human being in front of him was an angel. Donghae’s eyes blurred for a second, remembering how he had hurt Eunhyuk.
Donghae pretended to sneeze a little and took the chance to wipe it off with his sleeve, but apparently, the nurse caught him and gave him a tissue instead.
“Thank you.”
Donghae wiped his eyes and looked around the hospital room. It was actually pretty fancy with the white shiny tiles, the elegant flowered wall, the big glass window that faced right to where the sun was, and the soft lilac smell.
In another corner of the room, next to the TV, was a bunch of presents and flowers towering on top of each other that was probably from the loyal fans of Super Junior, or ELF. He noticed that the four foot high stacked presents were just those from today in the early morning. And the visiting hours only started two hours ago. Who knows how much Eunhyuk would get by the end of the day.
Suddenly the door slammed against the wall that startled both Donghae and the nurse.
“EUNHYUK!!!” Ryeowook, Sungmin, and Yesung came flying into the room.
Donghae’s jaw dropped at how loud they were, sending a glare along the way.
“SHHHH!” The nurse pressed her finger to her lip, her eyebrows furrowing as Eunhyuk’s eyes fluttered, smile turning into a frown.
The three froze, realizing what they just did and avoided Donghae’s gaze by turning themselves to the wall. The rest of Super Junior went in, some confused at the situation and some rolling their eyes clicking their tongues at how rude Ryeowook, Sungmin, and Yesung were.
Eunhyuk opened one millimeter of his eyes to peep through and see what was going on.
There seemed to be a lot of people. He casually turned his head like he was sleeping. And there seemed to be a lot of presents. Well, he saw about ten fans ask for permission to come in and give him a get-well card before he ate some breakfast and slept again. He took a closer look at the people with his small eyes and panicked when he saw everyone. And when he said everyone, he meant EVERYONE. Even... Donghae. Eunhyuk shut his eyes and tried to ignore them.
“He’s not awake yet?” Leeteuk asked.
“Hmm, I think he’s faking it,” Kangin replied.
‘Shoot,’ Eunhyuk thought and turned himself deeper into the covers.
“Let’s visit later, we don’t want to ruin his health,” Siwon suggested.
‘Yeah! Go Siwon!’ Eunhyuk sucked in his cheek fat to stop himself from smiling in victory.
There was a ten second silence as Kangin looked suspiciously at Eunhyuk then to the rest. Heechul sat on the chair next to Donghae and signaled Hankyung and Siwon to come over.
“Fine, but let me check first,” Kangin reassured them with a greasy smile.
A bit TOO greasy.
He stomped his way loudly to Eunhyuk and pulled off the covers. Cold air rushed towards Eunhyuk’s body, and like an instinct, Eunhyuk shot up with his hand rambling around the bed, searching for the blanket. He stopped immediately, realizing and looking up and Kangin who had a smirk on his face.
“I knew it.”
Eunhyuk face palmed himself and sighed frustratingly.
All of a sudden, it was quiet. Then the room up roared in tears.
Kyuhyun and Sungmin, however, bear hugged him and Ryeowook started asking him what he wanted to eat for lunch later. Leeteuk patted his back and scolded him about taking care of himself. Siwon gave Eunhyuk a small box which everyone could guess- a bible. Heechul and Hankyung were in their own little world and cracked jokes with Eunhyuk. Although Zoumi and Henry didn’t know Eunhyuk very well, they were also happy.
Donghae sat behind all of the chaos and smiled, also tearing up and cried silently. He sniffed once in a while in happiness.
Eunhyuk stopped laughing at his weird hyungs and saw Donghae at the corner of his eyes. He turned his back and at the same time faced Kangin.
“Let’s give THEM some time alone,” Leeteuk sneakily whispered in between every other member.
The nodded back and one by one made some sort of excuse like, going to the restroom, eating breakfast, checking out the building, or helping the random nurses that passed by who did not ask for the help.
The nurse who was here earlier also slipped out, saying she had other jobs to do. That of course, was not true for the fact that the company and hired her to be the personal helper for Eunhyuk.
And with that, the door closed with a click, leaving Eunhyuk and Donghae to stare at each other.
