Chapter 7

Second Meeting

As her birthday is approaching, Qiao En went shopping to get herself a gift as well as for Chao Chang (Ming Dao). All these years, she has been getting him a gift. Whenever she bought it, will get it wrapped and keep in a box, she wanted to hand them to him personally when he’s back. The same thing goes for Ming Dao. This day, both of them were at the same shopping center in the same shop. Both of them were at this shop that sells books on photography.

Qiao En (POV): Chao Chang likes books on photography. Guess I shall get him this as his birthday gift this year!

Ming Dao (POV): What shall I get?

Unknowingly, both of them wanted to pick the same book. Both of them turned and looked at each other.

Ming Dao (POV): Gosh! It's her!!

Qiao En (POV): Looks familiar! Where have I seen him before?

Ming Dao *smiles *: Hi, still remember me?

Qiao En: Eh.. Sorry you're?

Ming Dao: We bumped into each other outside Ying De's University's admission office?

Qiao En *recalled hard *: Oh Ya! So sorry about that time, wasn't looking at where I was going.

Ming Dao: It's alright. So you like books on photography as well?

Qiao En: Well, it's a friend of mine. He loves photography, so I'm intending to get him this for his coming birthday.

Ming Dao: Oh really? Was just planning to get myself one for my birthday too.

Ming Dao (POV): Whom's she buying for?

Ming Dao: Erm, may I have the honour to ask for your name?

Qiao En: Oh.. I'm Chen Qiao En; just call me Qiao En will do.

Ming Dao (POV): Chen Qiao En? My dear friend?

Ming Dao *extends his hand out *: Oh.. Hi, I'm Lin Ming Dao, just call me Ming Dao.

Qiao En *shakes his hand *: Hi

Qiao En (POV): This feeling is so familiar! The warmth in his hands reminds me of Chao Chang.

Ming Dao (POV): Her cold hands remind me of Qiao En. She used to have cold hands too.

After a while, both parties had come back to senses, they let go of their hands.

Ming Dao: Your hands are very cold, not feeling well?

Qiao En: Oh. It's been like this since young. I'm used to it.

Ming Dao: Oh I see.

Ming Dao *looking at her and the book *: There, you can have it.

Qiao En: Thought you wanted it?

Ming Dao: it's alright. Since your friend like it, you may have it, I'll look around for others.

Qiao En *gave a sweet smile *: Thanks!

Ming Dao (POV): Qiao En's smile..

Ming Dao: You're welcome.

Qiao En took the book and went to the cashier.

Ming Dao: Going off?

Qiao En: Yep.

Ming Dao: Me too. Let's walk out together.

Qiao En: Erm ok.

Ming Dao: So you're studying at Ying De?

Qiao En: Ya, yr 2. U?

Ming Dao: Nope, I just came back from Australia. So I graduated from University of Western Australia.

Qiao En: Australia?

Ming Dao *trying to test her *: Yes. What's up? Why did you look so stunned?

Qiao En: I have a friend who went Australia many years ago.

Ming Dao: Oh?

Qiao En: He's my childhood friend, a friend that's so close...

Ming Dao: So is he back yet?

Qiao En *sad and low tone *: Not too sure. We have lost contacts since I shifted house.

Ming Dao: Oh I see..

Qiao En (POV): Hey Chen Qiao En!! Why are you telling him so much? These are the things that others don't know! Wake Up Chen Qiao En!

Ming Dao: What's the matter?

Qiao En: Erm.. Nothing.

They continued walking in silence..

Ming Dao (POV): So coincidence! She's my Qiao En? But how can I prove it?
