Eunji’s POV
“Ahh. It’s nice to be sleeping in my own bed again. I hated those hospital beds.” I said to my mom as I flopped down onto my own bed after eating dinner with Wonbin.
“Honey, even though you’ve already been home for a week, your father and I are still very happy to have you back. We were so worried when Miyoko told us you were in a coma.” My mother stared to sniffle after saying that.
“Mom, it’s alright. I’m alright now. See, I’m here.” I said to her as I gave her a hug.
After I comforted her, she went back into her own room as I continued lying down on my bed.
I took a look at the ring that was now on my finger that was given to me by Wonbin. I couldn’t help but just smile. This was the first gift any guy has given to me. I’ll really treasure it.
“Wonbin, you pabo. You don’t have to be sorry.” I whispered to the ring.
I thought back to when Minhee and Miyoko had told me all the things that Wonbin and the others had down for me in the past month. I’m glad to have such friends.
Suddenly, I heard my phone ringing. I stood up too fast from my bed and tripped over the quilts. I stumbled onto the ground with my face flat on the carpet.
“Ooucchh.” I whined as I rubbed my nose.
“Hello?” I snuffled into my phone.
“Eunji? It’s me, Wonbin. Are you alright? You sound a bit…dead.” Wonbin told me.
“Huh? Yeah. I’m alright. I just kind of fell on my face when I was trying to grab the phone.” I told him.
“You’re so clumsy. You should take better care of yourself.” He teased.
I pouted, even though he couldn’t see it.
“Anyways, I was just calling to wonder if you wanted to go out tomorrow with… me.” He waited for my answer.
HE’S ASKING ME ON A DATE!
“Yeah! Of course!” I squealed a bit too happily.
“I mean. Sure. I’d love to.” I calmly said.
“Great. Then I’ll be at your house by 11: 30 tomorrow morning.” He said.
“Ok. See you!” I said back.
We said good bye and got off the phone.
“Looks like I should find some clothes to wear!” I happily chirped as I went towards my closet.
-----NEXT MORNING-----
*DING DONG*
“I’ll be going now Mom! See you later!” I yelled as I went to get the door.
“Don’t stay out too late!” She yelled back as I closed the door.
“Good morning.” Wonbin greeted me with a smile.
“Good morning!” I happily smiled back.
“So, where are we going?” I asked.
“I was thinking, let’s go have lunch first. I’m hungry.” He told me as he grabbed my hand and started walking to his car.
Just when we were about to get into the car, Wonbin’s cell phone rang.
“Hello?” He said into the speaker?
“Yes, speaking.” He replied
“Yes. Yes. I’ll be there soon. Thank you.” He said before hanging up the phone.
“What is it?” I asked him, worried.
“F&C just called. They said they have the training schedules all ready for us. They also told me that with a year of training, we’ll be able to debut.” He happily said to me.
“Wonbin! That’s great! I’m happy for you!” I excitedly said.
“Let’s go and celebrate!” He said as he grabbed my hand.
This entire day was spent greatly. All the places Wonbin took me were fun. After lunch, we went to go see a movie, then we went to the theme park for some couple fun, then, we went to the beach and talked for the longest time. We were telling each other things we never talked about in the past.
“This has been a great day.” I told him as we stopped in front of my house.
“I had fun too. I’m sorry that I won’t be able to spend much time with you. Practice will be coming up. But I’ll see you at school. And I’ll make sure to call you from time to time.” He promised me.
“Don’t worry about it. Try your hardest. I’ll be waiting for your results.” I smiled at him with encouragement.
“Thank you Eunji.” He said as he pulled me into a hug.
The embrace felt right. It made me feel safe. The moment was nice.
Then, he pulled away, but leaned in closer to my face. I knew where this was going. I was ready to give away my first kiss to the guy I like.
Our lips inching closer and closer.
The second his lips touched mine, I knew it was right. It felt somewhat nice. Even though it didn’t last very long, I was still happy.
“I guess I’ll see you at school.” He said with a red face while scratching the back of his head.
I nodded my head as I waved good bye to him, both our faces still red.
As I shut the door of the house and went upstairs to my room, I couldn’t help but smile and touch my lips. The exact spot that his touched mine.
“Looks like someone had a good day.” My mom teased me.
“Mom!” I whined, embarrassed.
“Alright, alright. Wash up and get ready for dinner.” My mom said as she headed downstairs into the kitchen.
NARRATOR’S POV
Day after day, the five members of FT Island would go straight to training after class. They didn’t have any time for other things.
Even though they didn’t have time to be with the girls, they would occasionally call them at night, to talk about stuff when they had breaks.
The girls understood that training was far more important for them. Before they knew it, nine months had already passed.
During those nine months, they have grown closer and wiser.
It was finally time for Eunji to be able to go back to Canada to visit her friends. She’s been waiting for this moment for the longest time.
She was at the airport, checking in right now. She’ll be away for the entire two months of summer.
“I’ll miss you so much while you’re gone!” Miyoko said as she hugged Eunji with all her might.
“Miyoko. Don’t make it sound like I’ll be gone forever.” Eunji said with a smile.
“Two months! That’s a long time!” Miyoko replied with a frown.
“You can always call her!” Minhee said as she pushed Miyoko out of the way to hug Eunji.
“She’s right. You can always call me. I’ll always pick up.” Eunji replied with a smile.
“You promise?” Miyoko sniffed as she put out her pinky.
“I promise.” Eunji said as she hooked her pinky with Miyoko’s.
“Have fun in Canada! We’ll miss you a lot.” Jaejin said as he stepped towards me.
“Thank you Jaejin. Practice hard!” Eunji smiled at him.
“Eunji, dear. Please be careful while you are over there by yourself.” Eunji’s mom told me.
“Don’t worry mom. I’m old enough to take care of myself.” Eunji assured her mom with a hug.
“Eunji. Don’t be a naughty kid. Make sure that you don’t make any trouble while your there. Mom and Dad won’t be there with you. For the time being that is. We’ll see you very soon.” My dad said.
“Yes. Dad.” She said with a weak smile.
After the others said good bye to me, Wonbin pulled Eunji aside.
“Eunji, I’ll miss you.” He said as he pulled her into a hug.
“Don’t worry Wonbin. I’ll call you whenever you’re free. Just focus on practicing.” She said to him with a smile.
He nodded with a smile.
“Be back soon.” He said with a pat on Eunji’s head.
“Don’t worry. I won’t leave you. You just make sure you don’t see any other girls while I’m away!” She warned him with a laugh.
After saying all her good byes, she made her way onto the plane, getting ready for a good two months of fun with her old friends.
But will her summer holiday really be as fun as she hopes?
