Eunji’s POV

“Hello?” I said into the speaker.

“Yah. Don’t forget to bring me my money tomorrow.” An unfamiliar voice demanded.

Money? Arg… There’s only one person that would say this. OH WONBIN.

“Didn’t I already tell you that I’ll be bringing it tomorrow? Stop bothering me!” I said as I hung up on the jerk.

I placed my phone on my table and then flopped down onto my bed.

“So much for making new friends.” I muttered to myself as I got back up to take a shower before heading downstairs for some dinner.

Wonbin’s POV

She hung up on me! No one hangs up on me.

“Wonbin? Were you listening?” my mom asked me at the dinner table.

“Sorry mom, what did you say?” I asked her.

“Never mind what I said, what is with you? Ever since you came down from your room, you’ve been acting weird.” She told me.

“It’s nothing mom. Let’s just eat.” I told her.

We continued to eat. After eating, I went back upstairs to get ready for sleep.

Eunji’s POV

Waking up this morning was just as hard as the past other days. Ever since I moved to Korea, I haven’t been getting enough sleep. I missed my old room in Canada. I missed my friends in Canada.

I slowly got up and got ready for school.

“Honey, you look so tired. What have you been doing all night?” My dad asked me with one eye brow raised up.

“Dad, the thing is I didn’t do anything. I wasn’t able to fall asleep. I’m not getting used to the new surroundings.” I truthfully told him.

“Don’t worry sweetie, you’ll get comfortable soon.” My dad assured me.

“Whatever you say dad.” I sulked as I ate my breakfast.

After eating, our family’s driver drove me to school.

“Thanks Mr. Park.” I said to the driver.

“Have a good day miss.” He replied.

I checked my pocket to see if I still had my money. Good, it was still there.

When I entered the classroom, I quickly went to my desk. Once I sat down, a girl who was sitting in front of me turned around.

“Hello! I’m Jung Miyoko! Nice to meet you Seo Eunji!” A cheerful girl greeted me.

“Uh… Nice to meet you too.” I said as I shook her hand.

Miyoko? Japanese?

“Miyoko. Are you Japanese?” I asked her.

“Oh, well, you see, my father is Korean, that’s why my last name is Korean, but my mother is Japanese. I can speak both languages and English as well.” She said proudly.

“English! That’s great! We can talk easily then.” I said happily.

She nodded her head in agreement.

Miyoko was small for her age, but she looked like the type of girl that didn’t need to try to be cute. She had dimples on both sides of her cheek.

“How old are you Eunji?” She asked me snapping me back to reality.

“I’m 16. What about you?” I asked her.

“Oh, you’re my Unnie. I’m 15 actually. One year younger then you.” She said cheerfully.

“Can I ask you a question?” I asked her.

She nodded her head.

“Why are you in my class if you are a year younger than me? Just like Wonbin and the others?” I asked confusingly.

“Well, our school is different than the other schools. We are put into classes based on our GPA’s not our age. Everyone in this class has an average GPA of 90 or over.” She explained.

90?! That means Wonbin is also over 90? And I thought he looked dumb.

I nodded my head as if I understood.

“You’re so lucky to sit beside Wonbin.” She switched to English.

I was a bit surprised by how fluent her English was, but I regained my attention.

“What’s so lucky? He’s such a jerk.” I splattered.

“Jerk? Really? But he’s like popular guy number one in our school. Every girl loves him. Well, everyone loves him and his band mates.” She said.

“Band mates?” I asked.

“Yeah, you didn’t know? They’re our school’s popular band. They’re called FT Island which stands for FIVE TREASURE ISLAND. Everyone loves them.” She explained.

So that’s why he has a guitar…

“Are they any good?” I asked her.

“Well, based on how much girls are in love with them, I can tell you that not only are they good looking, but they’ve got talent too.” She said.

“Especially Choi Minwhan.” She said dreamily.

“Does he play the guitar or something too?” I asked her.

“No, he plays the drums, Jaejin plays bass, Wonbin plays guitar, Jonghoon plays keyboard and guitar, and Hongki is the lead vocals. But what did you mean by ‘too’?” She asked me.

“Well, actually, I already knew Wonbin played the guitar. Because I accidently made him drop it.” I said sadly.

She stared at me for a moment with eyes wide.

“It was by accident. And plus, I brought money for him today to pay it back.” I assured her.

“No wonder Wonbin seems like he’s giving you the evil stare.” She stated.

I rolled my eyes at that statement.

Just then, all five of the FT Island members came into the classroom.

Wonbin was the one leading them in. Something yellow caught my eye on the ground. It was a banana peel. I pretended I didn’t see it.

Suddenly, Wonbin walked right on it, slipping. But luckily the other members caught him in time or else he would have fallen on his head.

He stood up straight and smoothed out his shirt. Trying to act like nothing had happened. But he knew almost all the students in the class had seen what just happened. He’s probably really embarrassed.

I couldn’t help but laugh a bit myself at his clumsiness.

I took a look at Wonbin’s face. It was bright red. But I wasn’t sure if it was red from embarrassment or red from being angry that I was laughing at him.

He gave me an evil look as he took his seat, face still red.

“Where’s my money?” He asked me as he held his hand out.

I grabbed my money from my pocket with one hand while the other hand was still covering my mouth from laughing.

“H-here.” I said in-between my laughs.

“Shut up. Stop laughing at me.” He spitted out as he grabbed the money from my hand.

I ignored his comment as I calmed myself down.

“Good morning Eunji.” Jaejin appeared in front of me.

“Good morning Jaejin Oppa.” I greeted him.

Soon all the other members came and greeted me with a hello. I replied with my own answer.

We talked a bit until the teacher came in. The guys then went back to their seats.

It was only today that I noticed that Jaejin actually sat across from me on my right.

Every now and then we would exchange glances and have little conversations while the teacher was not watching. It was actually quite fun talking to Jaejin instead of making faces at Wonbin.

When class ended, Jonghoon came to my desk and asked if I would like to go out for a drink with the rest of the guys.

“Umm. Sure. But is it okay if I ask someone else to come along with us?” I asked him.

He nodded and shrugged meaning ‘it’s up to you’.

“Miyoko. Do you want to come with us for a drink?” I asked her.

Her eyes sparkled as I asked her. She then gave me a big grin and nodded furiously.

“You guys go. I’m going to go home.” Wonbin said as he grabbed his stuff and was about to leave.

“Hyung! Don’t go. Just come with us.” Minwhan called him.

“It’s fine. I don’t want to go if SHE’S going.” He said as he pointed to me.

“That’s even better. Because I don’t want to go if you’re going.” I pointed out.

“No. You both will be coming. No buts.” Hongki said as he grabbed Wonbin by the shoulder and started to pull him out the door.

I was about to hesitate, but then Miyoko gave me a ‘Please go’ look. I gave in and followed the crowd.

We walked out of the school, and just then, a bunch of girls came screaming.

“Oppa!” I heard them yell.

They were talking to the guys. I took a look at them. They looked back and gave me a evil stare.

“Oppa, who’re they?” One asked.

“Friends.” Hongki replied.

The girls all pouted at the guys. But when the guys weren’t looking, they all gave me an evil glare.

I shouldn’t be afraid of them should I? Most of them look younger than me.

“Well girls, we’re going to get going.” Jonghoon said to the girls. He gave them all a smile before dragging us away.

I took a look at the girls again, a couple of them were screaming just because Jonghoon smiled at them. A couple of them were giving me some more evil stares.

“Are girls always like that?” I asked no one in particular.

“Well, we’re like that everywhere. They’re like our own little fan club.” Jonghoon replied.

Fan club? Wow…

“I heard you guys are a band.” I pointed out.

“Yeah. FT Island. That’s who we are. I’m not trying to brag, but we are pretty good.” He proudly announced.

I rolled my eyes as I continued to walk.

“Here we are.” Hongki said as we entered the coffee store.

Coffee? I don’t like coffee though.

“Is there anything else we can get instead of coffee?” I asked Miyoko who was busy talking to Minwhan.

She turned around to answer me.

“Well, actually, I’m not sure. It’s my first time coming here.” She truthfully said.

I nodded as I tried to take a look at the menu.

“Eunji, what do you want?” Jaejin who was behind me asked.

“Oh, do they have anything that doesn’t have coffee in it?” I asked him.

“Oh, you don’t like coffee? What a coincidence. Wonbin doesn’t like coffee either. But he loves the Lemon Honey Green Tea. Why don’t you order that?” He suggested.

Wonbin likes that? I don’t really want to get that, but who cares, I didn’t know to start off with.

“Yeah, I think I’ll get it.” I said.

Just as I was about to order, Jaejin stopped me.

“I’ll treat you.” He said.

“No, it’s okay. I brought money.” I laughed.

“It’s fine. Just think of it as a welcoming drink.” He said.

I nodded and let him treat me.

“Thanks.” I said with a smile as he handed me the drink.

We walked to where the rest of the group was sitting. When I sat down, I took a sip of my drink. To my surprise, it tasted really good.

I instantly smiled without realizing.

“Taste good right?” Jaejin asked me with a smile.

I looked up at him with a smile and nodded.

I suddenly felt someone looking at me.

I stared straight ahead to see Wonbin eyeing me and Jaejin.

What was wrong with him?

“Why do you have the same drink as me?” He questioned me.

“So? Jaejin and Hongki have the same drinks. I don’t like coffee, and Jaejin said this is a good recommendation, so I’m trying it.” I told him truthfully.

“Whatever. I’m going home. See you guys later.” He said as he took his stuff and headed out the door.

“What’s up with Hyung?” Minwhan asked stopping his conversation with Miyoko.

Everyone shrugged and went back to whatever they were talking about.

Time passed as we chatted happily. The more I chatted with the members, the more I got to know them.

They all treated me very nicely. We even traded numbers.

“Guys, I think I should get going. It’s getting late.” I told them as I grabbed my stuff.

“Wait, Eunji, I can drop you off. My driver is coming to pick me up.” He offered.

“Sure. Thanks.” I smiled at him.

We all waited outside to be picked up. Jaejin and I were the first to leave. We waved good-bye to the others as we got inside the car.

“Thanks for the ride Oppa.” I said as I got out of the car.

“You’re welcome. I’ll see you tomorrow.” He said as I shut the door.

I waved at him before going inside my house.

I was smiling the entire time after hanging out with them.

“Well, someone looks happy.” My mom smiled at me as I came in the door.

I smiled back.

“Where’d you go?” She asked me.

“I just went out to have some drinks with a couple friends.” I told her.

“New friends already? That’s great to hear honey.” She said.

“I’m going to take a shower then come down for dinner.” I told her as I went upstairs.

As I was taking a shower, I was thinking of all the things that happened today.

At one point I stopped to think about Jaejin. He was a very nice person. He’s such a great friend.

I smiled at that thought.
