Wonbin’s POV
The rest of the week went by like nothing. I tried my best to focus on anything except Eunji. As long as she was in my face, I had to restrain myself from making fun of her.
It didn’t felt like hatred anymore when I make fun of her. It feels more like my hobby.
After class yesterday, I went back to the music shop to pick up my guitar. After not seeing it for awhile, I missed it. A lot. Luckily it was repairable, if it wasn’t I would have broken that girl’s neck off.
Today was finally the weekend. I took a glance at the digital clock beside my bedroom table. It read ’10:43 a.m.’ I love sleeping in, waking up to a bright morning.
I suddenly heard my phone ring from the pockets of my jeans.
As I stand up to get it, I accidently trip over my own blankets, making me land on the side of my face with a big THUD.
“Wonbin, are you alright? I heard something drop.” My mom knocked on the door.
“I’m alright mom. I just accidently knocked over the… chair!” I yelled back while I rubbed the side of my cheek where I had landed.
I heard the footsteps of my mom faintly disappear as every second passed.
“Ouch.” I silently muttered.
I had totally forgotten about my cell phone. The ringing had stopped. I grabbed the phone and saw that it was Jonghoon who had called me. I dialed back.
“Hey, did you call me?” I asked when he picked up.
“Yeah. Just wondering if you wanted to come out with us today.”
“Out? With who and where?” I asked him.
“Well, all the guys, and then Eunji, Miyoko, and Minhee. We’re thinking of going to catch a movie.”
“Okay sure. Give me thirty minutes. I’ll come over to your house.” I told him.
I said bye to him, and then went to go get ready.
“Mom, I’m going out with the guys.” I told her as I walked out of the house.
“Don’t be home too late.” She warned me before I shut the door.
Mr. Choi drove me to Jonghoon’s house. He was familiar with all the band member’s addresses since he often drove me there.
I waved good bye to Mr. Choi after we had arrived.
“Hey.” I said to Jonghoon who opened the door.
“Hey. Come in, we’ve got to wait for the others.” He said as he ushered me into his living room.
“The ot—“ I stopped mid way because I saw people already in the living room.
There were already four people sitting on the coach when I entered. I scanned the room and saw that Jaejin and Eunji were missing.
“So, we’re just waiting for Eunji and Jaejin right?” Asked Miyoko who was sitting beside Minwhan.
“Yeah. Jaejin told me that they’re on their way already.” Jonghoon explained.
Jaejin’s with Eunji? They’ve been so close these days. WAIT. Why do I even care?
I shook my head, trying to get rid of the though that Jaejin was with Eunji.
“Wonbin Oppa, is your head okay?” asked Minhee.
“Huh? Oh yeah. I’m fine.” I told her as I sat down.
As we chatted, we waited for the other two to come.
*DING DONG*
Jonghoon got up to get the door.
“Wow, you guys are finally here. What took you two so long?” I heard Jonghoon ask.
“I’m sorry. I woke up late. I stayed up too late last night finishing up some homework so I wouldn’t have to worry about it for the weekend.” Eunji’s voice echoed through the hallway.
What a stupid girl. Doing homework when it’s the weekend.
Then I heard footsteps coming to us.
“Hey guys, we can go now.” Jonghoon told us.
The rest of us scurried into Jonghoon’s family van. Good thing that it fit all of us.
By coincidence, I got squished between Eunji and Minwhan.
“Ouch, watch where you put your feet.” Eunji told me in an annoying way.
“Well sorry Miss. I woke up late because I was doing my homework.” I mimicked her.
“Stop mimicking me.” She turned around so that she was completely facing me now.
“Stop mimicking me.” I mimicked her again with a smile.
“Shut up Oh Wonbin.” She said raising her finger at me.
“Shut up Oh Wonbin.” I copied her once again.
“Oh my god. Whatever.” She said as she turned back towards Jaejin and started to chat again.
I was left to sit by myself. I couldn’t talk to Minwhan, since he was already talking to Miyoko. I didn’t want to disturb their little conversation.
By the time we got to the theatres, it was already jammed pack. We quickly picked a random movie and grabbed our seats.
By coincidence AGAIN, I sat beside Eunji. But this time I wouldn’t have to sit beside Minwhan who was STILL talking to Miyoko as we entered the auditorium. To the left of me was the aisle way.
“Shh. The movie’s starting.” I shushed Eunji and Jaejin as the movie started.
“Fine.” She answered back as she looked forward at the gigantic screen.
During the entire movie, I couldn’t find any way to be attracted to it. Every now and then I could hear Eunji whispering to Jaejin about something. Then every now and then I could hear them giggle like little five year olds.
But, every now and then I would accidently touch Eunji’s hands, which were grabbing popcorn at the same time I was.
I would quickly pull my hand back, but after pulling it back, I could feel a tingly sensation that went through my hand and into my heart.
‘What’s this feeling?’ I questioned myself.
I tried to concentrate on the movie for the rest of the time.
As it finished, the lights came back on. Everyone was talking about how they thought the ending was bad or how they thought the main actor was super hot.
As I was just about to take a step down the stairs, I tripped on my untied shoelace and almost, just almost, started to roll down the hill. But, the reason why I didn’t start to roll, was because someone was grabbing a hold of my hand. That person was Eunji.
I looked at her for a moment. She stared right back at me. Then, some sort of sensation went through me. Just like the sensation when I had accidently touched her hand when trying to get popcorn.
“Umm… thanks.” I said as I pulled my hand out of her grasp and started to scratch my head.
“Yeah. No problem. Be careful next time.” She said as her eyes started to wonder.
‘Why am I getting this feeling?’ I asked myself.
Eunji’s POV
‘Why did I just save him?’ I asked myself.
‘What was that feeling that I had when I looked into his eyes?’
I stared at Wonbin who was walking down the stairs. He had actually said thanks. It was the first time that he had appreciated something that I did.
‘Was he actually starting to turn nice?’ I shook the thought out of my head as we all walked out of the theatre.
“Let’s go get some ice cream.” Miyoko suggested.
“If no one else has any suggestions, I guess we’re all headed for some ice cream.” Hongki announced.
We all nodded our heads in agreement.
Jonghoon said he knew a really good ice cream shop that was close to the school.
“Waaa. There are so many different flavors!” Miyoko squealed as we all took a look at the different flavors they had.
I took a look myself, seeing which flavor I wanted.
“Chocolate? Nah, it’s too plain.” I muttered to myself.
“Strawberry Shortcake? Too sweet.”
“Rainbow Candy Cane? Sounds weird.”
Then, I found one that suited me.
“Can I get the Chocolate Chip Mint please?” I muttered at the same time as someone else.
I took a look at who had ordered the same flavor as me. It was the last person that I expected to have something common with me.
It was Oh Wonbin.
