Wonbin’s POV

We both wanted the same flavor. What a coincidence.

“Uh, you go first.” I offered to Eunji.

She nodded and ordered her cone. I was next.

The hatred that I had for her at the beginning was now all gone. It disappeared. For now, I just wanted to be friends. I don’t want us to be fighting wherever we go.

“Hey, you two have the same ice cream flavors! It’s like you two have a couple thing going on. Finally you guys decided to agree on one thing.” Miyoko pointed out as we all finished ordering.

I could feel my face heating up when she said we had a couple thing going on.

“Miyoko, what are you talking about? It was just a coincidence.” Eunji said to her. I could see her face also getting red. Why is her face getting red?

“Can we find seats instead of standing here like a bunch of idiots?” Minhee suggested as she started her way on finding a big table for us.

We all sat down at the table that Minhee had found for us.

For some weird reason, I sat down beside Eunji. She saw me sit down beside her. She gave me a ‘What are you doing here’ look but then went back to eating her ice cream.

I took a big bite of my ice cream, but regretted it right away.

“Ahhh! Brain freeze!” I yelled as I held my head with my hands.

The others instantly started to laugh at me. The one who was laughing the loudest was of course Eunji.

“Y-you shouldn’t h-have eaten it so f-fast.” She said in between laughs.

As the freezing died down, I noticed that my ice cream had also died down. It was now melted, on the table.

“Arg. My ice cream.” I whined staring at the big pool of green ice cream.

“Here, you can have mine. I’m full.” Eunji offered with a smile.

That smile. It was very bright. I never noticed how beautiful she looked when she smiles. I guess it’s because I’ve been noticing her the wrong way.

“It’s okay.” I rejected the ice cream.

“No, it’s fine. Take it. I don’t want it anymore.” She offered.

I nodded my head and thanked her as I grabbed the ice cream out of her hand.

I had accidently touched her hand when I grabbed the cone. I had that same sensation I had when our hands touched when we were getting popcorn and when she saved me when I tripped.

“Your hands are so warm. Are you having a fever Wonbin?” She asked.

“Uh… No. It’s just this jacket’s too warm.” I lied as I took off the jacket.

“Uh… right.” She said as she chuckled at my answer.

Suddenly, Jaejin’s phone started to ring.

“Hello?”

“Okay mom.”

“Yeah, tell him to come pick me up at the ice cream shop near our school.”

“Okay. Bye mom.” Were his last words before slipping his fun back into his pocket.

“Sorry guys. But I have to get home now. My family is going out for dinner later on. I’ll see you guys at school.” Jaejin said as he stood up.

Eunji’s POV

“Bye Oppa.” I said to him.

“Oh Eunji. Do you think you’ll be okay to go home by yourself?” He asked me with concern.

“Yeah. Oppa. Don’t worry. It’s not far from here. I can just walk. I need the exercise anyways. I’ve been eating too much junk food lately.” I joked.

“Okay. Be careful then.” He said as he waved good bye to the group.

Does Jaejin always take her home? Was their relationship really that close?

The rest of us chatted for awhile before the rest of the guys decided to go home.

But not long after, each person’s parents started to call them to get home for dinner.

“I’ll see you guys later!” I yelled as I started to head home by walking.

Suddenly I heard someone shout my name.

I turned around to see who was calling me. It was none other than Wonbin himself.

“Wonbin? What do you want?” I asked him confusingly.

“I… Uh… I…” He stuttered unable to talk.

“Just spit it out.” I urged him.

“I-I’ll walk you home.” He finally said.

Walk me home? I started to laugh.

“Me? Why do you need to walk me home?” I asked him.

“Well… Uh… It’s just, you know, it’s getting dark.” He found an excuse.

I looked at the sky. It wasn’t dark at all. I looked at my watch. ‘5: 36 p.m.’

“It’s not dark. What are you trying to say?” I laughed at him.

“Well… since Jaejin can’t send you home, I’ll walk with you.” He offered.

Wonbin offering to take me home? Has the world gone mad?

“I don’t need you. I’m old enough to walk home by myself.” I told him.

He ignored my comment and started to walk the opposite way of my house.

“Wait, do you even know where I live?” I asked him.

“Right. Which way is it?” He blankly asked.

I started my way back home leading him to my house.

“So, what made you want to walk me home? I thought you hated me.” I questioned him.

It took him awhile to think about my question.

I could the see the resistance in his face as his expression changed from normal to confuse.

“Well?...” I asked him.

“Well. I didn’t want a girl to be walking home alone. I’m being a gentleman that’s all.” He said.

I laughed when he said he was a gentleman.

“You? Oh Wonbin? Yeah right.” I stated.

“Hey. I’m just trying to be nice.” He argued.

“Fine. But why are you acting so nice to me all of a sudden? I thought you hated me to start off with.” I asked him.

“Well, I guess it’s because you saved me from falling down those stairs and making a fool of myself.” He stated.

“See I’m just nice that way. I’ve always been nice. It’s just that you were too much of a cow to think that. Just because I broke the piece of your guitar.” I pouted at him.

“Fine. I’m sorry. Let’s start fresh.” He said as he held out his hand.

“Fine.” I agreed and shook his hand.

“With that said. How are you going home if you are walking with me?” I asked him.

“I don’t know. Either walk home or call my family driver to pick me up at your place.” He told me.

“Oh.” I muttered.

We chatted for the whole way back to my house. The way I look at Wonbin has changed. He actually wasn’t as cold hearted as I thought he was. He was actually quite fun to be with.

There was only one thing that stopped me from fully liking him. He always makes fun of me.

“Well, this is my house.” I said as I stood in front of the gates.

“Ok. I guess you should go in. I think I’ll walk home from here. I know where I am.” He said.

“Okay. Bye.” I waved at him.

“Wait, be careful.” I said to him.

“I will.” He said as he was about to head off.

But a second later, my mom opened up the front door.

“Eunji is that you?” She asked.

“Yes mom, it’s me.” I told her.

“Who are you talking to?” She asked as she walked to where Wonbin and I were standing.

“Just a friend mom.” I told her as she approached.

“OH, look what we have here. Is this your little boyfriend Eunji?” My mom teased when she saw Wonbin standing in front of me.

I was shocked at what my mom had just said. I took a look at Wonbin. His face was the reddest I’ve seen since I’ve met him.

“Mom! What are you talking about?!” I half yelled of embarrassment.

“Hello, what’s your name?” My mom gushed over at Wonbin.

“H-hello Mrs. Seo. My name is Oh Wonbin. Please to meet you.” Wonbin said with a bow.

“Wonbin? What a nice name. Are you my daughter’s little boyfriend?” My mom teased him some more.

“Mom. He’s not my boyfriend.” I truthfully said.

My mom didn’t listen to me. She walked over to Wonbin and smiled at him.

“You’re a very handsome young man.” She told him.

“Thank you.” Wonbin blushed at her comment.

“Would you like to stay for dinner?” My mom offered.

“It’s okay mom, he has to get home.” I tried to reject the offer for him.

“Nonono, he will stay for dinner. He did walk you home after all. He needs to gain some energy after walking all that way.” My mom argued.

“It wasn’t that much of a walking exercise.” I muttered under my breath.

“What did you say honey?” My mom asked me.

“Nothing mom.” I said.

“Well then. Wonbin, stay for dinner will you?” My mom gave his attention towards Wonbin.

“It’s fine Mrs. Seo. Really.” He resisted.

“Nono. Come in. Make yourself home. Don’t be shy.” My mom said as he urged Wonbin and I into the house.

“Thank you.” Wonbin said to my mom.

“You’re very welcome dear.” My mom replied.

“Where’s your dad?” Wonbin asked when my mom excused herself to continue cooking.

“He’s probably still at work. He gets off work very late.” I explain.

He nodded as if he understood.

“Where’s the washroom?” He asked me.

“Up the stairs and to the right.” I told him.

He got up from the coach and went upstairs.

I waited as he used the washroom. But after waiting for a bit too long, I was starting to wonder what was taking him so long.

I walked up stairs and took a right to the washroom.

But when I arrived, the door was open and no one was there.

Where did he go?
