"Omedetou, Tomo!!" Masami shouted happily. She hugged me.
"Oi…. You're too loud."
She smiled and patted my head. "It was nice too see you again on the field since the 'injured' thing you've got…." She giggled.
"Urusai na!!" I looked at her annoyingly. But she laughed.
Actually, I was happy that I was in the same dormitory as Masami and Shun during the Koshien. But I was ought to act cool in front of others as I was not that good on showing my actual reaction towards others. Especially towards Masami…. During our assembly, we were told by our coach to have a meeting at the hall. We were given out our practice schedule before our match. I was bored and then I looked away at the window as I heard people's voice. It was Masami and Shun. I had to admit that I was jealous of them…. I rested my chin on my hand, took a deep breath and rested my eyes. Suddenly, Maki approached me. I was startled. She looked at me and wondered and then slowly she smiled at me. I don’t know why, but I felt that I began to have this kind of feelings for her.
On that very day, Masami asked me, Toma and Maki for an outing. But, that outing was canceled because both Shun and Maki didn’t showed up at the place where we were promised to meet.
Since our arrival at the dormitory, I hadn’t seen Maki yet. I looked everywhere for her but she wasn’t there. I don’t know why but I was kind of missed her. Then, I thought maybe she was busy with her managing works. During our dinner, I still hadn’t seen her. I waited for her at the hallway, afraid she might passed by but and again she wasn't there. I looked at the watch. It was 10 p.m. at night. But I still didn’t see Maki around the dormitory. I began to worry….
I walked at the lobby and sat on the chair. While waiting, I took a glance at the main door. I thought if I saw her, I would definitely scold her about it. Soon enough, I heard people's chatting at the main door. I stood up and took a look at it and then I saw Maki… but she wasn’t alone. She was with…. Shun?? Why was she with him anyway? Suddenly, I had remembered. We were supposedly to meet them at the café but they had never showed up. When I saw her laughing and joking around with him, casually and happily, made me slightly annoyed. How can she be so casually around him?? I had never seen her smiling like that to me before…. I pouted while crossing my arms at them. Their happily conversations were interrupted as soon as they saw me.
"How long are you guys going to laugh like that?" I asked as I looked at them.
Both Shun and Maki were startled. "Tomo-kun…What are you doing here?" Maki asked simply.
And then I startled. "I… I…Of course, I'm waiting for you…." I looked away, avoiding her eye contact.
"Eh? Waiting for me?" she asked curiously.
Then suddenly, Shun-san laughed. He smiled and walked away. He then approached me and tapped on my shoulder before he headed to his room. "Gomen…. For borrowing her just now…" he sniggered.
I stared at him. "Baka… What are you talking about?"
"Oyasumi nasai…"
Then, for a while…. We were stood like that for a second. I was awkward by my own reaction. Maki, who was looking at me, pressed her lips, waiting for my responses.
"Where have you been with Shun?" I asked again.
"Eh? Ahh…. We have been waiting for you guys but Masami-san cancelled it so Shun-san said that he was hungry so he invited me to come along." she said simply.
"Really?"
She nodded. "Ne, Tomo-kun…. Why do you ask?" She suddenly asked.
And again, I was startled. "Eh?" I bit my lips and looked away. "A-Actually… I was worried. I wasn’t being able to see you during our dinner time. I keep imagining things about you…. And you…! Why didn’t you call me? You scare me, don’t you know that?"
She looked at me with an amazing looks. Slowly, she smiled widely at me. "Thanks for worrying about me…. I'm happy when you did that. And sorry for making you worry about me." she bowed.
I shook my head. "It was nothing….. Next time, call me if you're going somewhere so that I will not be worried…"
"Hait!!!" and then we were both laughed at each other. I walked her to her room. She turned to me. "And again, thank you… Tomo-kun…"
I looked at her nervously. As she was about to open the door, I grabbed by her arm.
"Maki…."
"Hait…" She turned to me.
"A-After our match, let's go for an outing together…" I blurted out.
She looked at me and smiled. "Hait! I will be waiting for it…."
