---------------------------------------------------------
Jaejoong was sitting on a cliff and was looking across the water into the orange sun that had almost disappeared behind the sea. It was beautiful...
But he couldn’t quite enjoy it. There was always something new bothering him. Sometimes it was still the memory of Joon, when it wasn’t him, then it was the press and paparazzi and the rumors that were circulating, and when it wasn’t the rumors then it was Yunho... Actually it was him most of the time. Since they had arrived at the new house a couple of hours, maybe even only minutes ago, Yunho had been missing. Nobody knew where he went or why. But Jaejoong had the biting suspicion that it was because of him.
Hopefully he wasn’t still worried about him or felt still guilty. All they needed right now was to calm down and support each other instead of running away from their fears, and hiding. He kept looking around and hoping to spot Yunho somewhere but he had no luck.
The sun eventually disappeared completely and a fresh breeze came up. Jaejoong went inside and put some warmer clothes on. It was so beautiful and nice out that he wanted to sit there a little longer. And he was unconsciously hoping that Yunho would come back sooner or later. But before that could happen, Jaejoong started to feel dizzy.
He cuddled himself up in the blanket. The trees and the sea were making constant, rustling noises that made him feel like sleeping soon.
The stars were shining down on him. Many stars in the black night sky. It reminded him on the night when Yunho left him alone. Jaejoong’s grandpa had just died and he didn’t want to be alone, was looking forward to a fun night with his best mate, and he discovered how much Yunho meant to him. But Yunho didn’t come home. Instead he was staying with a girl...
The current situation felt just like it. Jaejoong was waiting in the dark, alone, feeling a little bit abandoned. And he was in a stressing situation like back then, now that all those things had happened with Joon. He didn’t want to be alone.
He couldn’t manage to keep his eyes open anymore and dozed off. But he was soon woken up by loud noises. He startled up and turned around. There was a car, it wasn’t Yunho’s car, but Yunho got out of it. As he opened the door, the light went on inside and there was a woman - pretty, beautiful hair, slim - sitting in the car and smiling at Yunho like there was no tomorrow.
Jaejoong couldn’t help but feel an uneasy roaring in his stomach. It couldn’t be... could it? The woman was laughing and talking and Yunho looked just as happy as her. Why did Jaejoong even worry? Yunho always finds a reason to feel good... But he is also good in covering his real feelings. He often laughs just because he is polite.
The car left and Yunho kept smiling, which meant that he was actually happy and not pretending. He entered the enlightened area where Jaejoong saw him better.
He got up from his safe and hidden spot, and Yunho noticed him. He hesitated before he kept walking, but then walked towards him instead of the house. Jaejoong walked over to him, too. »Really, Yunho?« »What?« Jaejoong looked away angrily. »Don’t pull that shit on me again. Lila was ok, but this now?«, he pointed at the tracks of the car.
Yunho seemed to get it. »Oh, I see what you mean. But it was really not what you think.« »That’s what you always tell me and I never understand. But alright, explain it to me.« He tried to calm himself down and lowered his voice. He was willing to give it a try. The last time it was just a misunderstanding. But this time it was different. Yunho knew how hard it was for him to cope with his 'politeness' for everyone. Only he was always kind of left behind.
»Ehm... I can’t really tell you actually.« Yunho lowered his head, realizing how unfortunate that was for him. »Wow, really? That is surprising.« Jaejoong couldn’t stop tears from filling his eyes. Since when did he react so drastically? He wiped his eyes and went to the house.
»Jaejoong, wait!«, Yunho called him. »You really don’t understand. And I can’t tell you right now who she was, believe me. I just got to know her today anyways.«
»As if that is going to make me feel any better«, Jaejoong murmured. »I am sorry that I always make you think badly of me. I know I’m not good at keeping secrets.« »Duh...« Jaejoong kept on walking but Yunho stayed outside. »Please, listen to me.« »I thought you can’t tell me.«
»You will understand, I promise.« Jaejoong hesitated but eventually came outside again. »I will not play any stupid games, ok?« His cheeks were still wet and warm. So embarrassing. »She works at a jeweller’s.« Jaejoong raised his eyebrow. That was really no help. »So? That makes her what for you?« Yunho lowered his head and Jaejoong thought it was in helplessness but he was actually looking at something.
He looked back up and his eyes were full of remorse and... love. Jaejoong looked at what he had looked at and it was something bulgy in his hands. Yunho lifted his hand and revealed what was inside.
It was a dark-blue case, covered in velvet. Jaejoong’s eyes grew wide and he stared and Yunho in disbelief. Yunho opened the case and exposed a beautiful silver ring.
