Jaejoong looked at Yunho who was sitting next to him and smiling as if he just played a joke on someone. He probably still felt guilty about his parents... The imagination of his mom standing somewhere in the crowd, looking proudly at he son, and then getting those news was heartbreaking. But it was his decision and nothing for Jaejoong to think or talk about. He didn’t want to make it even harder for him, so he enjoyed the moment with him and didn’t bring it up. He wouldn’t bring it up ever, unless Yunho wanted to talk about it.
He reached for his hand and linked his fingers with Yunho’s. He decided never to forget this moment as well as Yunho’s face.
Yoochun and Junsu were in absolute peace, too. Relieved from all the stress for now- this short but amazing moment. And Changmin sat in his chair almost completely turned around so that he could see all of them. He kept talking and grinning like a little kid that just managed to do something impossible for a dare. Jaejoong had to chuckle and felt happy when he thought about their future.
The van dropped them off at their mansion. Luckily the plot was huge and had fences around it, because the few people of the press that had found of where their new residence was were already there.
»I call the shower!«, Changmin shouted and was already about to get undressed. Junsu and Yoochun were talking and floating around in their own world. As Jaejoong was about to enter the house as well, Yunho grabbed his wrist and pulled him around the corner. He gave him a gentle kiss and pulled something out of his pocket. Jaejoong needed a moment to recognize it. He was holding to tickets for an airplane.
Jaejoong’s eyes widened. »Are you serious?« Yunho grinned. »Yeah, I actually am.« He laughed when Jaejoong grabbed the tickets and stared at them as if they would disappear and he had to observe them within the time he had left. The destination was the U.S.. He had never been to the states without having to work, and this would be the first time with only him and Yunho.
»Thank you so MUCH!« »I thought we should take care of this«, he said seriously and reached out for Jaejoong’s hand. He held it up and pointed at the silver ring that had been on that finger constantly for the last days. »Oh, you mean...« Yunho smiled and took the tickets back. He pointed at the destination airport and it was Nevada. Jaejoong took a second to think and then remembered. »Las Vegas?« Yunho nodded and seemed proud of himself that he surprised Jaejoong so successfully.
Jaejoong took another look at the tickets. »But there is not date of return.« He wrinkled his forehead. »Well, I thought as soon as some paparazzi would track us down, we should rush and get someplace else. So I didn’t know where we’re going to end up or from where we’ll be leaving.« Jaejoong was uncertain if he was serious. »Alright, actually I was just planning on traveling around and come back whenever we want to, but the other explanation sounded much cooler.«
He tried to maintain the serious expression but he couldn’t help smiling. Jaejoong just realized what that meant. They were going to marry... going to MARRY! In the next couple of weeks, maybe even days. It was frightening but so exciting at the same time. He didn’t notice that Yunho was looking at him. It was a peaceful look, a caring look. Jaejoong bended forward and locked his lips with Yunho’s. They didn’t part for quite a while, but a honking outside the door forced them to.
»WTF?«, Yoochun yelled from upstairs when the vehicle kept honking. »Don’t worry about it«, Yunho replied. »It’s alright.« Jaejoong looked at him questioning. Yunho pointed behind him. There were a couple of suitcases ready to be taken to the airplane. »You get some stuff ready and I’ll talk to the driver.« So the honking was the driver that would take them to the airport. Jaejoong grinned. It was so amazing how Yunho had everything planned out. He must have put a lot of effort in all this.
Before getting lost in excitement, Jaejoong ran upstairs to get some of his things that Yunho hadn’t packed in the suitcases yet. Junsu was standing at the end of the stairs leaning against the wall and being amused by Jaejoong’s excitement. »Have fun«, he said alluding, but Jaejoong had already passed him. He only threw a couple of things in a carry-on bag and hurried to get back outside, where he bumped into Yunho. Both of them laughed and Jaejoong was embarrassed by his eagerness to go on that trip with Yunho.
Luckily, Yunho had caught him before he could fall to the ground, and it looked like a total cliche scene from a chick flick movie. »Thanks«, Jaejoong mumbled after he blushed, and threw his stuff into the car. »Let’s go!« The others had come outside the door to say goodbye. They hugged each other but there wasn’t much time for words because the driver, who had no idea what was going on because he didn’t know them, grew pretty impatient.
Yunho and Jaejoong made themselves comfortable on the back row in the car. Yunho told the driver to take as many detours, strange alleys and uncommon roads as possible in order to get rid of curious people. The driver didn’t ask why and did what he was told to since he got paid well.
Paparazzi followed them but the driver managed to lose them, which Yunho rewarded with a little more cash. They reached the airplane before the press could spot them again, and almost noone seemed to recognize them there. They got on the plane and it took hours to get to the U.S. but the time flew by, because they had each other and so much to talk about. And when there wasn’t anything to talk about, they just enjoyed the comfortable silence and the presence of each other.
It got dark outside and Jaejoong saw only a few lights underneath them, since they were flying over a desert. The airport seemed like a Christmas tree compared to all the darkness around it. The air outside was hot even though it was in the middle of the night, and it was stuffy.
That way it was even better when they got into the hotel where the air condition kept the rooms at 65°F at max, which was pretty cold.
Jaejoong had goose bumps and Yunho caressed him casually to warm him up. Jaejoong was always surprised how normal their touching was. He was just about to remind him that they were in public, but then he remembered that everyone knew and also, noone there seemed to know them at all. Jaejoong took advantage of that situation and grabbed Yunho’s butt before he rushed to the bathroom, so Yunho couldn’t give him a strange look. He just heard him laughing behind him.
They got into their room after they had checked in, and were completely wired from the traveling. Jaejoong fell onto the bed and closed his eyes. Suddenly something heavy fell onto him. Jaejoong cast up his eyes and of course it was Yunho who was grinning at him. Before Jaejoong could contradict, Yunho closed his lips with his own. Jaejoong started liking it quickly and wrapped his arms around his neck to pull him closer.
Yunho’s hands were all over Jaejoong’s upper body, now starting to undress him, which Jaejoong didn’t reject at all. Even though he could literally feel the steam spread in their room, he had to yawn. »Sorry«, he said and giggled. »No offense.« Yunho grunted as well and let his head drop. Their bodies were shaking in laughter. They both were simply too tired to do it right now.
»Tomorrow?«, Jaejoong suggested. »Definitely.« He looked at Jaejoong and grinned. »At least twice.«
