"Kayi! Do you want to go in?" Grace said.
Kayi nodded and said, "Sure!"
They walked in, and saw it was really crowded and full of people. Then both girls spotted Loretta sitting along staring at her cup of coffee.
Kayi pointed, "Do you see her?"
Grace nodded, "Let's go over, and say 'Hi'!"
They walked over. Loretta looked up.
"Oh, hi, Grace and Kayi! You want to sit?"
"Hey!" Kayi and Grace said as they nodded and sat down.
"Why so sad today?" Grace asked.
Loretta forced a smile. "You guys want to know?"
Kayi and Grace nodded.
"Ok, but if I tell you, don't tell anyone. No one knows. I didn't even tell my parents, or Aimee. This happen 5 years ago when I was 15 years old and still in high school in Vancouver," Loretta started.
Kayi and Grace nodded. Kayi said, "Is it something bad? How'd you hide it from your parents?"
Loretta shrugged, "I wasn't sure if they knew or not, but for 10 months I hid in a hotel with a private tutor, so I could stay in educated. I lied to Mommy and Daddy that I was going to stay in the school dorms."
Grace wondered what it could be. She grew up in a shelter and was spoiled by everyone so she didn't really understand much.
"When I was 15, I went to Toronto to visit my aunt and uncle, and Aimee. I went with her and Tracy to this party, and there I met Matthew. That's why last time when I saw him I was staring at him, and when he came over I thought he recognized me and came over to me."
"No wonder!" Kayi and Grace said in unison, then laughed.
"Matthew and I had a great time together, until we went to the hotel. Then, you may guess what happened. Yes, I had his baby. When it was born, it was already adopted by another family. I feel so miserable seeing Matthew again," Loretta said, already sobbing.
"It's okay. He's with Aimee now, he can't hurt you anymore," Kayi assured her.
Loretta sobbed more, "But, he is the one and only man I have ever loved."
