*the white door leading to the hospital room slammed open. Charmaine came rushing in*
Charmaine: Raymond! *her eyes were wide with fear. She had just received news from Ekin that Raymond had been bashed up by Benny's gang although the Dragons got there just in time but Benny's gang had done some serious damage and now he was in hospital in a deep coma*
*She gasped and her eyes which were already swollen and red from crying all the way here filled up with salty tears again. Raymond lay on the white bed motionless. Needles were poking into his tan skin. Charmaine sobbed helplessly as she sat herself down on the chair beside his bed*
*The door suddenly swung open again and there stood a puffed out Michelle. With horror obvious in her eyes. Her jaw dropped when she saw the state Raymond was in. He had bandages wrapped around his head and he had a leg propped up with a white "hammock". One of his arm was bandaged up as well. His face was covered in scars and bruises. His other arm was placed in a cast.*
Michelle: Noo... *she whispered in agony.*
*Charmaine who had managed to gain some self-control stood up and walked over to Michelle. Both girls collapsed into each other's embrace. Michelle had tears pouring freely from her eyes. As both girls pulled away. Michelle opened her teary eyes and gazed at Raymond with her heart aching terribly.*
*Michelle slumped against Raymond's bed in heartache. She didn't want to see him this way. She did hate him. But she still did love him. This wasn't the way it was meant to turn out!*
Michelle: *shook her head slowly as buckets of tears continued streaming down her flushed cheeks* Ray.. ray.. wake up! Don't sleep anymore! Ray.... *her voice muffled as she lay her head in his sheets and snuggled against his hand.*
*Charmaine glanced at the forlorn pair of lovers and felt tears rushing back into her eyes as she remembered herself and Julian. Just then she heard the squeaking of shoes on the floor and glanced at her back. There stood the man she had no intention of ever seeing or speaking to again - Julian. Julian did not notice her standing there. He only felt his mouth gap as he saw the state Raymond was in. His heart felt for his younger sister to see her so hear-broken. He walked slowly into the room. Only then did he notice the girl of his dreams, Charmaine. she had buckets of tears pouring out of her eyes as well.*
*JUlian bit his lip. He wanted so much to pull her into his embrace and comfort her. He wanted to calm her down and plant a kiss on her forehead to make everything better. But he knew better then to even try.*
*Charmaine couldn't stand it anymore. All these tragic incidents were invading her once lively and forever happy life. She strided firmly out of the ward without a backward glance. Julian glanced at her out of the corner of his eye. He needed to watch over her. He couldn't let her out of his sight just in case something like that happened to her as well and followed her out and closed the door softly behind him.*
*Michelle had not raised from her kneeling position beside Raymond.*
Michelle: Ray... Why? *her eyes were closed shut. She couldn't stand the sigh of him. It made her heart hurt so much.* You can't leave me here.. we haven't even gone on a date. *she said her heart falling into bits. she grasped his hand tightly and shook it gently*
Michelle: Please don't leave me! *she yelled in agony* I love you Ray.. i love you! Don't! *she shook his hand slightly harder. His hand which had been clenched into a fist suddenly fell open and she glanced at it through her tears. In his long fingers lay the voice recorder.*
*Curiosity getting the better of her, she sniffled and wiped her tears off her cheeks and settled onto the chair beside the bed. She pressed the "play" button gently on the voice recorder.*
~RECORDING~
Voice: Joe these photos are excellent! *dripping with sedistic happiness*
Joe: Thank you Dai Lo.. *quiet and timid*
Voice: But why did you take so long to develop them?! *the voice yells loudly with sudden anger*
Joe: I.. I.. sorry Benny Gor.. the stupid developers said they had a long line of customers and when i called the boys over to threaten them they said that they would call the police if we dared do anything to them.
Benny: You're so useless!! *thundered angrily* All of you!!! *silence hung in the air for a while when Joe didn't dare to retailiate* well at least you got it done! *said with a sigh* *that harsh laughter sounded again* I can't wait to see the look on Michelle Yip's face when she sees these. As if she didn't see enough on that day. *chuckles sedistically again*
Joe: *clears his throat nervously* Yeah you're a very smart guy Dai Lo. You're the only one who can come up with such a great plan.
Benny: Of course! *yells out egoistically* It was a good plan wasn't it? The prostitue, the drugs in Raymond's drink.. *Raymond has a sharp intake of breath*. However our dear Michelle Yip made it even better when she came personally to witness all the events.
*The sedistic chortling vibrated through the doors*
*Raymond bit his lip in order to keep himself from bursting through the door and blasting Benny. His eyes however, betrayed his strong emotions.*
Benny: stupid Michelle.. think you can outsmart me? Don't be stupid!
Joe: Umm.. boss.. *asked his voice trembling with fear*
Benny: What?! *snaps impatiently*
Joe: I heard that Charmaine is very heartbroken as well. Apprently Michelle's older brother Julian Yip played with her then she found out.
Benny: *that horrendous laughter erupted again* Hah! That Julian Yip took my revenge for me! Both of those stupid girls got what they deserved for messing with Benny Chan!
~END OF RECORDING~
*By the end of the recording tears were flowing freely down Michelle's tear-stained cheeks again. She wrapped her hands around Raymond's tanned hands and brought to her cheek*
Michelle: I'm sorry Ray... I'm soo sorry! *she muttered through her tears* I should have known! I should have known better... *she growled angrily at herself* I'm so stupid! I'm so sorry Ray... *she looked at him through her teary gaze* Please wake up ray... please wake up.. *her voice trailed off and was replaced by a series of sobs.*
*Nothing could mend her broken heart now. Not with Raymond in such a deep coma. Only he could piece her heart back together.. and he may never wake up..*
NEXT SCENE
*Charmaine jogged toward the bench which was placed in the middle of the hospital garden. She had her hand pressed against her mouth to prevent the sobs from escaping. She hated feeling so weak and vulnerable. Hated feeling so helpless. One of her best friends was in a coma and another pinning desperately for him and there was nothing she could do about it. She shook her head in frustration as tears continued streaming down her cheeks.*
*Julian just came out of the hospital and glanced around before spotting Charmaine's shuddering shoulders. He sighed as his heart clenched with pain. He walked solemnly over to her.*
*He seated himself quietly beside her. It was difficult seeing the girl he loved most sob her heart out. More difficult that he couldnt' do a thing about it*
Julian: charmaine.. *he said softly with emotion running through his single word.*
*With a soft cry Charmaine wrapped her arms around his neck and buried herself into his chest. She couldn't control herself anymore. She needed his comfort and his strong arms to hug her and reassure her that everything was alright. When she pulled into his embrace memories came rushing back to her as she remembered his scent, his touch and the way he gently held her but made her feel so secure.*
*Julian just felt his heart burst with joy having her in his arms again. He didn't care. He wasn't about to let her go again. He wrapped his arms around her petite body and patted her back to soothe her. It was just a simple gesture of love but it meant so much to both of them*
