“What’s going on?” Jessica was still lost; she had no idea why Kevin looked so frightened.
“It’s a bomb…” Kevin said calmly but the look in his eyes gave it away.
Jessica completely froze hearing that she was holding a bomb, “What?”
Kevin turned around seeing all the staff and hotel clients still walking around, the whole hotel had to be evacuated, “Don’t move at all, I’ll be right back.”
Kevin ran to the front desk towards Myolie, “I need you to call the police and tell them that there is a bomb in the hotel.”
“What?” Myolie was shocked hearing, “How…”
“No time to panic Myolie, quickly call the police, then call for a code black and evacuate the building,” Kevin instructed.
Myolie immediately did Kevin instructed and called for the police then called for an evacuation. Everyone in the hotel started to panic, customers were going stressing out and running unorderly out of the hotel.
Kevin ran back to Jessica who was beginning to shake from panic as well as her hands were getting sore from holding the bomb and not being able to move. Although Kevin didn’t know how to dispose a bomb but he had studied information on bombs, he looked carefully and didn’t see any timers or anything on it, which could only mean that the bomb would explode by action or movement.
“Don’t move, if you move the bomb would explode,” Kevin told Jessica.
Within a matter of minutes several police cars arrived with the bomb disposal squad. The police blocked off the surrounds of the building and evacuated everyone out of the building. Everyone was now out of the building besides for Kevin and Jessica.
“Why aren’t you leaving?” Jessica asked Kevin as she kept trying to keep her hand from shaking.
“I’m not going to leave you,” Kevin could tell Jessica was finding it difficult to hold the bomb in her hand. Her hands were shaking slightly and was running out of strength.
“Just go, it’s too dangerous,” tears of fright were flowing from Jessica’s eyes as she sat on the ground hold the bomb, “Just leave!”
Kevin saw the struggle that Jessica was having keeping her hands from shaking, he placed his hands under her hand so she could rest her hands on his, “I’m not leaving you…”
Jessica couldn’t believe it, Kevin was willing to risk his life to say with her, “Kevin… you don’t have to…”
“I want to…” Kevin kept holding her hand, “rest your hand on mine.”
Two bomb disposal officers ran into the hotel towards Kevin and Jessica, “Are you two alright?”
“Not really,” Kevin said holding onto Jessica’s hand who was holding onto the bomb.
One of the officers examined the bomb while the other set up a barrier around Jessica and Kevin. He looked closely at the bomb, it was different to the typical bombs. It was built by experts and defusing it would take a lot of risks.
“Do not move your hands, moving your hands can cause the bomb to explode straight away,” the bomb disposal officer instructed.
Kevin looked at Jessica to give her assurance and faith that everything would be alright.
*Outside Grand Hotel, 9:57am*
Raymond and Charmaine arrived at the hotel and saw a large crowd surrounding the hotel. The walked a little closer and saw Myolie standing outside.
“What’s going on?” Charmaine asked Myolie.
Myolie pointed inside, “A bomb… Jessica and Kevin are still inside.”
“What?” Charmaine shouted, she wanted to charge inside to her Jessica but Raymond pulled her back.
“What are you doing?” Raymond held onto her stopping her from going inside.
“Jessica is inside, I have to know how she’s doing,” Charmaine tried releasing herself from Raymond’s grasp but he was just too strong for her.
“It’s too dangerous,” Raymond pulled her back again.
“The bomb disposal officers are inside already,” Myolie informed the both of them.
Raymond held onto Charmaine as they waited patiently.
The bomb disposal officers had never had to deal with such complicated bomb in their careers so far. The two of them stood next to Kevin and Jessica who were still holding the bomb in their hands and staying as still as possible.
They had been holding the bomb in their hands for hours now and Jessica’s arms were sore, she couldn’t hold her hand up anymore, if it wasn’t for Kevin holding it up with her, she would of given up a long time ago.
“How you feeling?” Kevin asked as sweat covered his forehead and trickled down his face.
“I’m ok…” Jessica said softly, she looked up at Kevin, “Why didn’t you leave?”
Kevin looked her in the eyes, “I can’t just leave you.”
“You’re willing to risk your life to be with me?”
Kevin had a slight smile as he kept his strength and held up Jessica’s hand, “I guess,” Kevin could feel his hand beginning to shake a little but he kept very still, “So… can you tell me why you’re avoiding me now?”
Jessica knew that this was a life and death situation, so not matter what she said it may not matter anymore, “I’m scared…”
“Scared of what?”
Jessica took a deep breath, “Scared of liking you.”
“But why…?” Kevin was confused why she would be scared.
The bomb disposal officers had finally figured out a way to defuse the bomb so movement wouldn’t trigger the explosion, “I need you two to be very still, I’ve figured out a way to defuse the bomb, I’m going to cut one of the wires first then there is a small panel inside which I need to get to and switch it off. But this will only work if you don’t move. I’m warning you guys, if anything goes wrong the bomb may explode and will kill all of us.” The bomb disposal officer took out his tools, “Ready?”
Kevin and Jessica looked at each other to find the courage within, “Yes.”
There were five wires connecting to inside the panel and only one of them could be cut in order to open the panel, the officer bent down and looked carefully where each wire connected, “I’m going to cut the yellow wire,” he informed the other officer as well as Kevin and Jessica.
Kevin and Jessica shut their eyes as the officer slowly cut the yellow wire.
“Done,” the officer was relieved, “looks like we’re still here, now this step is hard, I need you to keep very still so I can open the panel to get inside the chip.”
Both Kevin and Jessica smiled at each other knowing they passed the first part.
Charmaine, Raymond and Myolie had been waiting outside for hours but there was no sign of Jessica and Kevin or even the officers. Raymond held onto Charmaine the whole time trying to keep her calm.
“Don’t worry,” Raymond rubbed her shoulders comforting her.
“Why aren’t they coming out?” Charmaine was still in a panicky state.
“Nothing has happened so far, so it should be a good sign,” Raymond tried to be as positive as he could.
“Yeh,“ Myolie agreed, “everything will be fine, just have to wait a little longer.
The officer found this was a more critical state than ever, “I’m going to open the panel now,” he pulled out a little tool from his belt and opened the panel slowly and carefully, he used a pair of tweezers and unhooked the chip connecting to the wires, “Done!” The bomb disposal officer carefully took the bomb out of their hands and walked towards the safety case to place the bomb inside.
Kevin kept holding onto Jessica’s hand, smiling knowing everything was fine. Jessica after experiencing a near death experience for the second time realised that life was too unpredictable and she should cherish everything in her life, he leaned forward and hugged Kevin tightly.
“Thank you…” she cried knowing she couldn’t hide her feelings towards him anymore.
Kevin wrapped his hands around Jessica hugging her, “It’s ok…” he stood up and helped Jessica up, he held onto her hand, “Let’s go…”

*Ma Mansion, 11:11am*
Joe was sitting in the lounge watching the live coverage of the bomb threat in front of the hotel, the look on his face showed nothing but pure happiness, he switched the volume up and started laughing, “Everything is just going so well…”
Bosco stood from the corner of the room and watched the news coverage silently. He had no reaction on his face and glanced slightly at Joe who’s reaction was a little extreme.
“See that Bosco…” Joe pointed at the screen, “It’s going to explode anytime,” Joe laughed even louder.
Bosco folded his arms and kept watching the TV to see what was going to happen next.
The reporter on the TV continued reporting, “Early in the morning a bomb was discovered in the Grand Hotel lobby, the bomb was picked up by a staff member who is stuck inside still holding onto the bomb with the assistant general manager of the hotel. It is thought that the culprit had planned…” before the reporter could even say what she wanted to say, a loud explosion echoed out of the hotel.
Joe pointed at the TV and turned up the volume even louder and laughed, “I told you that it will explode, you see that Bosco?”
Bosco had a slight grin on his face seeing Joe’s reaction.

*Outside Grand Hotel, 11:34am*
The loud explosion echoed out of the hotel, everyone standing out the front of the hotel ducked for cover. Raymond used his hands to cover Charmaine and Myolie.
Everything was silent as everyone got up slowly to see what exactly happened. Charmaine jumped up wanting to run inside again but Raymond held her back, “Charmaine… don’t…”
“But…” Charmaine tried pushing Raymond away, “I have to see…”
“Jessica…” Myolie pointed at the front door.
Charmaine and Raymond stopped struggling. Kevin held onto Jessica’s hand as they walked out of the hotel. All three of them ran towards Kevin and Jessica.
“I thought the bomb exploded,” Myolie was confused whether she heard right or not.
“The bomb did blow up but it was afterwards in the bomb safety case,” Kevin explained as he kept holding onto Jessica’s hand.
Charmaine noticed Kevin and Jessica still holding hands, “Um… so you two…” she pointed at their hands.
Jessica got slightly embarrassed and quickly let go. Kevin smiled happily and shrugged his shoulders.
“So…” Jessica began to say but paused suddenly seeing everything around her distort, she stood off balance and held onto her head. Her vision darkened and collapsed in Kevin’s arms.
“Jessica!” everyone rushed towards her to see if she was alright.
A few seconds later, Raymond heard a loud thump next to him. He turned around to see Charmaine unconscious lying on the ground next to them.

Thanks for reading and for the comments!!! looks like the bomb situation brought Jessica and Kevin together... and Joe is going a little crazy now... doesnt seem to be normal anymore... What will Bosco do..?
