Jessica pulled Kevin aside, “Why isn’t anything happening to me? I’m meant to be hurt and unconscious too but I feel fine.”
Kevin couldn’t find an explanation as to why Jessica wasn’t affected by Charmaine, he shrugged his shoulders, “I don’t know…”
Raymond held onto Charmaine, “Charmaine… wake up, can you hear me?” he looked up down the street, “Why isn’t the ambulance here yet!” he shouted.
Another minute passed and the sounds of sirens filled the air. Two ambulances parked in front of the Westwood Apartment building.
“Why is there two ambulances?” Kevin asked.
All four paramedics jumps out of the ambulance, two ran towards Charmaine while the other two ran into the building.
“Excuse me sir,” the paramedic laid Charmaine onto the ground, “Ma’am can you hear me?” he tapped her face a little but there was no reaction, “Put her on the stretcher,” he instructed.
Charmaine lay unconsciously on the stretcher as the paramedics measured her pulse and blood pressure, “Her pulse is weak,” he placed an oxygen mask over her and pushed her towards the ambulance.
“Is she going to be alright?” Raymond pulled one of the paramedics back in panic wanting to know how she was.
“We have to take her to the hospital now, what relation are you to her?”
“I’m her boyfriend,” Raymond answered hastily.
“Ok, you can come with us.”
Raymond jumped onto the ambulance leaving Kevin and Jessica behind. A few minutes later Moses and two other paramedics came running down with Bernice on the stretcher.
“What happened to you guys?” Jessica asked shocked to see Bernice unconscious.
“She got attacked and fell down the stairs,” Moses shouted, “I’ll see you guys at the hospital,” and jumped into the back of the ambulance.
Kevin and Jessica stood by the sidewalk, “Is this a coincidence?” Jessica asked curiously.
Kevin didn’t answer and pulled Jessica back into the car, “I think I know what’s happening, I’ll tell you on the way.”
Kevin sped down the road towards the hospital, “Bernice and Charmaine are both injured right?”
“Yeh.”
“Bernice’s fall down the stairs may have caused an injury towards baby Charmaine thus because baby Charmaine is hurt then adult Charmaine would also be affected,” Kevin explained as he turned a corner.
“If adult Charmaine is hurt then I should be affect too,” Jessica didn’t really understand why she was hurt.
“Maybe it’s because its actually baby Charmaine that’s hurt and not adult Charmaine,” Kevin thought logically about the whole situation, “Maybe you are only connected with adult Charmaine but because technically she’s not the one who is hurt thus meaning you won’t be hurt.”
All this information was too much for Jessica to process, she really didn’t understand what Kevin was saying. And even though Kevin explained it to Jessica but it was only from his own readings and interpretations of what was going on.

*Hospital, 9:47pm*
Moses and Raymond both waited in the waiting room for Bernice and Charmaine.
“I hope they’re both ok,” Raymond said pacing the room.
Moses sat with his hands in his face, “How could I have let this happen, if only I didn’t go back into the apartment…”
“Well if I didn’t walk off and leave Charmaine behind then…” Raymond hit the wall thinking it was his fault.
The doctor walked out of Bernice’s emergency room, “Mr. Cheuk…”
Moses jumped up, “I am, is my wife alright?”
“Well how can I put this in a simple way,” the doctor found it difficult to explain the situation with Bernice, “When you wife fell down the stairs, it cause a major injury with the two foetuses inside. An internal bleeding occurred which has caused a sort of drowning affect in Bernice’s body towards the foetus.”
Moses head was just bursting with worries, and because of this he found it more difficult to understand what the doctor was trying to say.
“We would be able to operate on your wife however one of the foetuses is severely injured more so than the other. We have two choices to make, the first is to try and save both foetuses however this comes with an extremely high level of danger, the chances of Bernice and the foetuses surviving is very slim,” the doctor explained.
“What’s the second option then?” Moses asked hastily.
“The second option is to remove the more injured foetus. This will allow us to stop the bleeding and save your wife and the less injured foetus,” the doctor knew it was a tough choice for Moses to make, “Think about it Mr. Cheuk, but the more time you think about it the more critical your wife’s life will be in danger.”
Moses sat back in the waiting room not knowing how to choose, although there was a slight chance of Bernice and the babies recovering but he would be risking their lives to take this bet.
Raymond stood up from next to Moses as Charmaine was pushed out of the emergency room, “How is she?”
The doctor sighed as they pushed her up to the patients room, “Unfortunately all the test we has run such as blood tests, CT scans, X-rays none of them showed any signs of what is actually wrong with Charmaine. In fact they all show that her health is perfectly normal.”
“What? That’s absurd! What kind of a doctor doesn’t even know what’s wrong with their patient,” Raymond yelled in anger.
“I know how you feel sir but all the results came up positive, in theory she is meant to be in perfect condition,” the doctor tried explaining to calm Raymond down.
“Well she isn’t fine is she? If she was fine she wouldn’t be unconscious!” at this point Raymond felt more angry than anything else, he took a deep breath and tried to calm down a little, “What else can you do?”
“We will monitor her and take a few more tests,” the doctor patted Raymond on the shoulder, “We’ll do everything we can to find out what’s going on.”
Raymond nodded his head and accompanied Charmaine and the doctors to her room.
Jessica and Kevin arrived shortly to see Moses staring into space still trying to decipher what to do.
“Where’s Bernice?” Jessica asked.
“She’s still inside.”
“What’s happening to her now?” Kevin asked concerned.
Moses sighed, “I have to decide between risking all three of their lives in order to save all three of them or giving up on one of my babies to save Bernice and the other baby.”
Kevin sat next to Moses, “Have you made your choice?”
Moses shook his head, “How can I make this decision? Sacrificing one of my babies to save the others.”
“But if you don’t then all three of them will die,” Kevin reasoned, “The more time you take to decide the less chance you will be able to save any of them.”
“I really can’t choose…” Moses had never been so indecisive in his life; he just couldn’t seem to think rationally.
Jessica stood in front of Moses, “If you don’t choice now then not only Bernice will die but Charmaine will die as well…”
Kevin quickly pulled on Jessica’s arm making her stop talking. Moses stood up slightly confused as to what Jessica had just said, “What does this have to do with Charmaine?”
“She didn’t say Charmaine…” Kevin tried to cover up for Jessica.
Moses stepped closer to Jessica, “I heard you loud and clear! How does my decision affect Charmaine’s life?”
“Because she’s your daughter!” Jessica blabbed out not being able to hold in the secret.
“That’s crazy! How can she be my daughter? She’s only a few years younger than me and I don’t recall having a daughter with anyone else,” Moses thought what Jessica was saying was just totally crazy.
“She’s not anyone else’s daughter, she’s your and Bernice daughter, the one in Bernice’s stomach right now. The one which you have to make a decision or she will cease to exist,” Jessica said trying to make Moses understand.
Moses shook his head in disbelief, “That doesn’t even make any sense…” he looked over at Kevin.
“It’s true, Charmaine is your and Bernice’s daughter from the future, somehow she and Jessica who by the way is your great, great grandmother from the past travelled to this year,” Kevin explained.
Moses looked over at Jessica still not believing what they both were saying.
“Moses, I know its hard to accept and believe but right now you have to save your wife and your daughter,” Kevin patted Moses on the back.
Moses knew Kevin was right; he walked back into the emergency room where the doctor was waiting. Kevin and Jessica waited outside hoping that Moses would come to sense and make the right and the safest choice.
A few minutes later Moses walked out with the doctor pushing Bernice towards the operating theatre. He walked up to Jessica and Kevin, “How am I suppose to believe that Charmaine is my daughter? I need proof.”
“When Bernice and the baby inside of her recovers the Charmaine should automatically wake up or if you can’t wait then there something called DNA,” Kevin suggested to Moses.
Hours passed while Moses sat in the DNA clinic waiting for the results. At this moment he didn’t know what to think or to believe. Another few minutes passed.
“Moses Cheuk,” the receptionist called out.
Moses jumped up and grabbed the envelop with results inside, he opened it and slide the piece of paper up slowly. Moses didn’t have much of a reaction, he walked out of the clinic towards Bernice’s operating theatre. The lights were still on, he sat on the chair and waited for Bernice to come out.
Finally the lights switched off and the doctor walked outside with a smile attached to his face, “Mr. Cheuk, Bernice and the baby are fine now.”
A smile of relief appeared on Moses face, “Thank you,” he knew he had made the right choice. This choice not only saved Bernice but also saved Charmaine, “Can I see her now?” he asked the doctor.
“She’s still in recovery but once she is back in her room you can see her,” the doctors pager starting beeping, “Sorry, I have to take this.”
*Charmaine’s Hospital Room, 10:42am*
“What do you mean you still don’t know what’s wrong with her!” Raymond shouted, “I thought you said you’ll do more tests.”
“Mr. Lam I hope you understand that the hospital is doing the best they can to find out why the patient is unconscious,” the doctor tried to reason with Raymond.
“Sorry, I’m just really worried,” Raymond knew that getting angry wouldn’t help.
“We will try our best to find out what her sickness is.”
Raymond was going crazy not knowing why Charmaine was unconscious. He stood up and walked outside needing to get some fresh air to clear his mind and to calm himself down.
Moses strolled along the hospital hallways waiting for Bernice to recover. After wondering around for a while he found himself standing in front of Charmaine’s room. He looked inside and saw her lying on the bed still unconscious. Moses opened the door and sat beside her and just stared, he couldn’t believe that she was his daughter, “She doesn’t even look like me…” he looked a little closer, “But she does have some of Bernice’s features I guess.”
Charmaine’s eyes opened slowly hearing Moses mumbling beside her, she was still weak since Bernice and baby her hadn’t recovered fully yet, “Dad…?” she suddenly realised that she wasn’t meant to call Moses that, “I mean…”
Moses smiled, “Don’t worry I know who you are. You’re my daughter right?”
“How did you know?” Charmaine could hardly talk but she really wanted to know how Moses knew.
“I’m smart,” Moses pointed to his head, “I’ll tell you when you recover.” He stood up, “Get some rest.”
“How is mum?” Charmaine asked before Moses left the room.
“She’s fine and so are you,” Moses smiled again before leaving the room.
Bosco stood in the corner of the hallway away from Charmaine’s hospital room, he watched as Moses lefted her room. Everything that had happened was just a method for Bosco to confirm Charmaine and Jessica’s identity. He took a step back and turned around leaving the hospital ready to execute his plan of getting rid of the whole Cheuk family.

Thanks for reading!!! well as u guys guessed... Jessica's connection is only between adult Charmaine and also that Charmaine doesnt have a twin brother because they had to remove him... all thanks to Bosco again...
well finally Moses now knows who Jessica and Charmaine are.. as does Bosco... so what will he do next...
