Bosco wrapped his arm around Raymond’s neck and pulled him back with the gun still pointing to his head. Moses and Kevin kept really still not knowing what to do next.
“Bosco you don’t want to do this!” Kevin shouted, “Tavia wouldn’t want you to do this!”
“I respect you because you’re Tavia’s brother but this has nothing to do with you Kevin, so just stay out of it,” Bosco said nicely to Kevin.
Raymond felt Bosco clench harder on his neck, “Charmaine… go! Step into the portal!” Raymond shouted.
Charmaine shook her head knowing she couldn’t just leave Raymond to die, “No…”
“Go!” Raymond kept shouting, “Step into the portal! If you don’t you will die! Just go!” Raymond yelled.
Kevin looked up at the moon, the shadow was now only half covered, “You don’t have time Charmaine.”
Raymond was struggling under Bosco’s grasp, “Hurry! Charmaine, I’m begging you to go. Forget about me!”
Time was reaching closer as the shadow moved away from the moon. Charmaine turned around and shut her eyes ready to step into the portal but stopped hearing the sound of a click. She turned back around and saw Bosco’s finger about to pull on the trigger.
“No!” without thinking Charmaine ran towards Bosco.
Bosco smiled and pointed the gun away from Raymond towards Charmaine but before he could pull the trigger Moses grabbed his arm pushing it up in the air. Bosco shot a fire in the air as Moses struggled to pull the gun away from him. Bosco let go of Raymond still interlocked with Moses.
Raymond ran towards Charmaine, “Charmaine…”
Bosco kicked Moses to the ground; he aimed his gun in Raymond’s direction and took a shot. Charmaine grabbed onto Raymond’s arm and spun him around.
Silence filled the air; Raymond could feel his heart stop beating, as he looked Charmaine in the eyes. Blood gushed out of the gunshot wound, Charmaine stared Raymond in the eyes as she slowly fell into his arms.
“Charmaine!” Moses jumped up off the ground and punched Bosco across the face knocking the gun out of his hand. Bosco didn’t even try to fight back as Moses held him down to the ground.
Raymond held onto Charmaine tightly as he pressured her wound trying to stop the blood from flowing out, “Charmaine…why? You shouldn’t have…”
Charmaine smiled slightly, “There’s no… no reason why…” she felt the pain from the bullet wound spread to all parts of her body, she felt her eyes getting heavier and began to close them slowly.
Raymond held her up and shook her trying to wake her up, “Stay with me… don’t close your eyes.”
Charmaine could feel herself slipping away but held onto Raymond’s hand, “Sorry…”
“Why are you sorry?” tears began flowing from Raymond’s eyes, “There’s nothing for you to be sorry about, I’m the one who should be sorry.”
“I… I should have told you who I really am,” Charmaine could hardly catch her breath; a stream of tears flowed from her eyes as she could feel that this was the end for her and Raymond.
Raymond held onto even tighter, he reached in his pocket, “You can’t just leave like this, there are so many thing I want to do with you,” he pulled out the ring and showed Charmaine, “we still haven’t got married yet, we still haven’t had any kids,” Raymond couldn’t control the tears coming from his eyes and he continued to sob, “we still haven’t grown old together, you can’t leave me now,” he placed the ring on Charmaine’s finger.
Charmaine smiled weakly, “Raymond Lam…promise to forget about me when I die.”
Raymond shook her head, “No…”
“Please…” Charmaine held her hand up and touched Raymond’s face.
Raymond held onto Charmaine’s face seeing her desperation, “I promise you…” he held her close to him feeling every inch of love between them.
The shadow shifted across exposing the full moon, which shut the portal. The moonlight shined down at Charmaine and Raymond. Charmaine smiled at Raymond, her eyes showed nothing but love for him. She shut her eyes slowly as her hand slipped away from Raymond’s grasp.
“Charmaine…” Raymond tried grabbing onto her hand but it suddenly turned transparent. Slowly Charmaine’s body faded away in Raymond’s arms leaving nothing behind except for Raymond’s ring.
“Charmaine!” Moses shouted seeing her daughter disappear right before his eyes, he clenched his fist and pinned Bosco to the ground and punched him across the face, “You killed my daughter!” he shouted as he continuously punching Bosco in the face, “You killed my daughter!”
Bosco didn’t try to defend himself as he just lay on the ground letting Moses punch him. Kevin saw at the rate Moses was attacking Bosco that in no time he would brutally punch Bosco to death.
“Moses don’t…” Kevin pulled Moses away from Bosco, “Your going to kill him…”
Moses pushed Kevin away, his hand was covered in Bosco’s blood, “He killed my daughter!”
“If you kill him what will happen to Bernice and baby Charmaine!” Kevin shouted trying to knock some sense into Moses’s mind.
Moses knew Kevin was right, he shook his head and stood next to Bosco who was still lying on the ground. Moses phone started to ring, “What’s up Ron?”
“Where are you?” Ron sounded quite panicky on the other side, “Bernice is about to have her baby.”
“I’ll be right there,” Moses hung up the phone; at this point the only this that mattered was the health and safety of his wife and child. Like a speeding bullet Moses ran down the mountain towards his car and sped off the hospital.
Kevin turned around to Raymond who was still sitting on the ground gazing at where Charmaine faded away, “Ray…”
Raymond had lost all reaction as he continued to sit in the same spot. Kevin could feel his wound hurting as he bent down next to Raymond, “Sorry…” he patted him on the back.
Raymond took a deep breath and picked the ring up off the ground. He stood back up and stumbled aimlessly down the mountainside.
Bosco lay on the ground with his face bruised and covered with blood. He suddenly started to laugh. Kevin really wanted Bosco to pay for what he done to Tavia but he knew that his sister would never want that to happen. Kevin looked at Bosco who was constantly just laughing at nothing and turned around walking slowly back down the mountain.
Bosco stopped laughing as he stared at the stars in the sky, he had done everything he had wanted to do. His life was now completely pointless, Bosco reached for the gun lying next to him, “Tavia…” slowly he pointed the gun to his head and pulled the trigger.

*Hospital, 1:01am*
Moses ran through the hospital to the deliver room where Ron and Myolie were waiting out the front, “Hey.”
Ron and Myolie looked at Moses weirdly seeing him covered in filth and blood, “What happened to you?”
“Nothing…” he replied trying to catch his breath, “Has she had the baby?”
Just as Moses asked the question a loud baby crying noise filled the air as the doctor opened the doors, “Mr. Cheuk, congratulations. The mother and baby girl are both fine and healthy.”
Moses shook the doctors hand, “Thank you doctor, can I see them?”
“Sure, Mrs, Cheuk is just going back to her room,” the doctor smiled letting Moses into the room.
Moses walked into the room where Bernice was sitting on the hospital bed holding the baby in her arms. The only expression you could see on Bernice’s face was happiness, “She’s beautiful.”
“How are you feeling?” Moses asked ask he stood next to her.
“I… so happy, she’s our daughter Moses,” Bernice handing the baby to Moses for him to hold her.
Moses carefully held the baby Charmaine in his arms; she shared the exact same features as the adult Charmaine he knew. A tear of happiness fell from Moses’s eyes knowing that she was safe in this world after all.
Ron and Myolie crowed around to have a glimpse of the baby, “What are you going to name her?” Myolie asked.
Bernice looked at Moses, “You decide…”
Moses didn’t have to think twice already knowing the name of his child, “Charmaine… her name is Charmaine.”

*Cheng’s Resident, 3:14am*
Kevin didn’t go back to the hospital but back to his house. He walked back upstairs to his room and sat on his bed. He reached in his drawer and took out the diary that his ancestor Ga Wing had written and flipped to the page when they found Jessica and started top read it all over again.
*Qing Dynasty Year 1875*
Although it had been two years but General Cheuk Hei and his First Officer Ga Wing hadn’t quit searching for Jessica. The two had searched all over the knowing that she would still be alive.
“We’ll stop and rest her for a while,” Cheuk Hei order his army troop.
Ga Wing walked by the riverside to wash his face; from the corner of his eye he saw a body lying on the ground next to the waters. He stood up and walked a little closer to have a glimpse of who it was. The clothes on the person was unusual, he took a step closer. A smile appeared on his face as he ran back to Cheuk Hei.
“General, we finally found her,” Ga Wing shouted.
Cheuk Hei jumped up and ran to the riverside to confirm for himself, “It’s her… we finally found her…” he ran up to Jessica held her up, “Hsuan Huan… can you hear me?”
Jessica slowly opened her eyes, her vision was slightly blurry, “Kevin…” she mumbled as she saw Ga Wing first, she closed her eyes again trying to focus her vision. She opened them back up and saw Cheuk Hei right in front of her, “Cheuk Hei…” she knew that she was back.

*Year 2009, The Peak, 6:42pm*
It had been one month since Jessica had gone back to the past and Charmaine had faded away in Raymond’s arms. Everything seemed to go back to normal for everyone. Raymond walked up the mountainside to where he was last with Charmaine and sat by the edge of the mountainside to watch the sunset. Apart from going to the hotel he had made it a habit of coming here to watch the sunrise and sunset every day.
Although Raymond had promised Charmaine to forget about her but it was something he just couldn’t do. He sat and waited patiently for the sun to set in the distance. He took out the ring Charmaine left behind and held it in his hand as he sat stared at the view in front of him.
Moses held onto baby Charmaine a harness, which was strapped onto him; she was sleeping peacefully in Moses’s arms. It was the first time baby Charmaine had left the house to see the world; he felt a need to bring her here. Moses saw Raymond sitting on the bench and stood behind him.
“I knew you would be here,” Moses said.
Raymond didn’t turned around not knowing that Moses was holding onto baby Charmaine and kept staring at the sun slowly setting, “I have no where else to be.”
“Ray, I know you blame yourself for what happened but it was an accident,” Moses tried to comfort Raymond.
“How can I not? She died saving me, I should be the one who is dead,” Raymond suddenly heard little Charmaine making noises waking up from her little nap; he stood up and turned around. It was the first time that Raymond met little Charmaine.
“Although Charmaine is gone but she didn’t die, she’s right here,” Moses unhooked the baby harness and gave baby Charmaine to Raymond to hold.
Raymond carefully took baby Charmaine in his arms, seeing the little baby look at him just made him smile, “Hey…” he touched baby Charmaine’s little hands. Baby Charmaine suddenly squeezed Raymond’s finger, Raymond couldn’t help but let out a drop of tear and gave baby Charmaine back to Moses.
Moses took baby Charmaine back, “Forget about her Ray… that’s what she wanted.”
Raymond really wanted to keep his promise but it was just so hard, he smiled and walked away from Moses.

*Grand Hotel General Managers Office, 9:08am*
Moses knocked on Raymond’s door but there was no answer, “Is Raymond in yet?” Moses asked his secretary.
“He hasn’t come in yet,” she answered.
Moses opened the door and walked towards his desk to get a file and saw a letter placed on his desk addressed to him. Moses quickly opened the letter and read it carefully.
“Hey, by the time you read this letter I should be long gone. Don’t worry I’m not going to commit suicide or anything but I’m just going somewhere far, somewhere that I can fulfil my promise to Charmaine. So don’t bother finding me. Take care Moses.”
Moses placed the letter on his table, he didn’t know whether Raymond’s decision of leaving was a good idea or not but he respected him and wished him the very best.

*Year 2036, Hong Kong Airport, 10:02am*
A young man wearing jeans, a shirt with a blazer jacket on top and converse low-top shoes dragged a suitcase and followed the crowed to the arrival level of the airport. It was his first time in Hong Kong, it felt strange but also exciting finally being able to come back to live where his father once lived. He walked towards the exit knowing that someone was going to pick him up but saw no signs with his name written on it.
Charmaine was now twenty-seven years old and although she had no idea that a future her once travelled time but she still carried the same personality.
“Come on ga jie, we’re already late,” Chris, her cousin as well as the son of Myolie and Ron pulled Charmaine into the airport.
Charmaine rolled her eyes and yawned really loudly, “I don’t even know dad told me to come with you.”
“That’s because I just got my license and he needs you to watch out for me,” Chris looked at the time, “I think he would have just arrived,” Chris handed Charmaine a sign with the name Lam Fung written on it, “Hold this.”
“Where are you going?” Charmaine asked.
Chris smiled, “Toilet.”
Charmaine pushed him along and stood near a crowd of people waiting for this person to arrive, “Stupid person, can’t believe I have to pick him up,” she complained as she held the sign up.
Fung looked around still trying to find the people who are meant to pick him up. Charmaine leaned on the railing still waiting but there was still no sign of this person she was meant to pick up. Fung walked towards the large crowd of people to see if any of them were looking for him. He pushed his way through the crowd but accidentally tripped on someone’s luggage and fell on top of Charmaine, squashing her against the railing.
Charmaine turned around thinking that he was harassing her and became very defensive, “Hey!” she yelled at him. “What was that? Are you trying to harass me or something because I know kung fu”
“What? I just…” Fung tried to explain himself but Charmaine didn’t even give him a chance.
“You what? I know what kind of tricks you perverts play, hanging in large crowds so you can harass girls like us,” Charmaine continued to shoot at Fung.
“Think whatever you want… I don’t have time for this,” Fung turned around wanting to leave but Charmaine pulled him back.
“You can’t just leave you little pervert,” Charmaine tried to keep hold of Fung but he managed to release himself from her grasp and ran away out of the airport.
“That’s right, you better run!” Charmaine shouted at him.
“Who are you shouting at?” Chris suddenly asked appearing out of no where.
“Ah…” Charmaine jumped not expecting him to be there, “No one…” she turned back around and continued to wait.

*Cheuk Mansion, 11:30am*
Besides a few minor details that have changed, the Cheuk Mansion was still the same. Ron and Myolie sat on the lounge with Bernice waiting for Chris and Charmaine to return home.
“Why isn’t Chris home yet?” Myolie asked eagerly.
“He’s a big boy now. A mother will always worry,” Ron laughed.
Bernice laughed, “Don’t worry about your son. I’m sure he is just on his way home.”
“Yeh, but this is the first time he’s driving long distance since he got his license,” Myolie said still a little worry, “You know I blame Moses for this.”
“Chris said he wanted to go to the airport plus Charmaine is with him,” Moses said walking down the stairs.
The doorbell rang and the housekeeper opened the door. Fung stood at the door, “I’m looking for Moses Cheuk…”
Everyone in the lounge stood up seeing Fung stand at the door. The resemblance between him and Raymond was just so similar. Moses stood in front of Fung and looked at him, it was as if he saw his old friend again.
“You must be Fung?” Moses asked.
Fung smiled and nodded his head. Ron walked up to Fung and looked at him carefully, “You look exactly like your father. Wow, its been twenty-seven years since I last saw him, how is Raymond these day? How come he didn’t come back with you?”
A saddened look appeared on Fung’s face, “My dad passed away at the beginning of this year, he wanted me to come back to Hong Kong, that’s why I’m back.”
Moses patted Fung on the shoulder, the news of Raymond passing away came to shock for everyone. It had been so long that they had seen or heard from Raymond that besides for Moses they all didn’t know what was going on in Raymond’s life for all those years.
Myolie suddenly realised that Fung was by himself and not with Chris and Charmaine, “Didn’t anyone pick you up?”
“I waited for a long time at the airport but no one came…” Fung began to say but was cut off with the front door opening.
“Ga Jie, are you still going on about that? Maybe it was a misunderstanding,” Chris said trying to calm Charmaine down as they both walked into the house.
Charmaine walked towards the lounge, “Dad, that Fung guy didn’t even show up…”
Fung stood up and turned around hearing a familiar voice. Charmaine was surprised to see him standing right in front of her, “You?” she pointed at Fung, “What are you doing here?” Charmaine turned to her dad, “Please don’t tell me he’s the guy I was suppose to pick up?”
Moses didn’t know what had happen between them two but knew it wasn’t something pleasant, “Yeh…”
Bernice stood up, “Fung, why don’t you stay with us for a while, there is so much catching up to do.”
Fung glanced over at Charmaine, he could tell by her expression that she didn’t want him to stay, “Sure, thanks Aunty Bernice,” Fung looked back at Charmaine with a cheesy grin on his face.
“Great,” Moses clapped his hands together, “you must be tired from the plane trip, go upstairs and take a rest. Charmaine help Fung take his stuff to the guest room.”
“Me?”
“Yes,” Moses pointed to his bag on the ground, “Help him.”
Charmaine glared at Fung as he constantly had that grin on his face. Fung held onto his own luggage as Charmaine picked his bag up and both headed upstairs.
“Why are you staying with us?” Charmaine whispered, “Don’t you have a hotel to stay at?”
Fung smiled seeing how cute Charmaine was getting all angry, it made him want to annoy her even more, “I’m staying because of you… why else would I be here?”
Charmaine raised an eyebrow and walked a little faster up the stairs with Fung picking up his pace and followed her.
Moses watched Charmaine and Fung walk upstairs. Their bickering relationship felt very familiar, very similar to what happened twenty-seven years ago with Raymond and Charmaine. Moses thought to himself that maybe everything that happened was destiny; everything that happened twenty-seven years ago was laid out for this Charmaine and Fung to be together.

Thanks for reading... well thats the final chapter to my story... hope u all enjoyed it... so Bosco got what he deserved.. his life was pointless and lonely.. and the only person who cared and loved him was Tavia.. but he let her go.. so he had even more of a reason to die.. so he can compensate in a way....
and Jessica returning back to the past... which didnt change history up to that point and didnt change the Cheuk family...
finally Raymond and Charmaine.. Charmaine died so she could save Raymond.. so she did change history... everything that happened was meant to happen that way... so her appearance was to sacrifice and save Raymond... to make him live so his son can be with the "other" Charmaine... does that make any sense?? hope it does... and if u think that Charmaine and Raymond's son "Fung" being together will be weird.. it wont because technically its a different her.. yeh.. hope i didnt confuse anyone...
