‘’nanda (what is it)?’’
‘’ie (no).’’ she said as she smiles.
But then 5 seconds later,
‘’ne..’’ Mao asked again.
‘’hm?’’
‘’can we..’’
‘’no.’’ Pi said.
‘’but..’’
‘’Mao-cha~~n..’’ he begged.
Then 5 seconds later,
‘’I cant help it! im hungryyyyyyyy…!! Didn’t you hear my stomach growling?!’’ Mao released herself from Pi’s embrace and stood up.
Yamapi’s laughing. ‘’yeah, I heard. And now you’re embarrassed.’’ As then he looked at her blushed cheek.
Mao just staring at the floor looks like a lost child.
Then Pi stood up and say, ‘’you’re just as cute as a little girl. Gomen (sorry), im just too happy about being official with you right now so then I wont let you go from my hug.’’
‘’baka (stupid).’’ Mao smiled mischievously.
‘’okay.. so.. how ‘bout a yakimeshi (Japanese fried rice)?’’ Yamapi asked.
Mao knew about how he’s really good at cooking that meal.
‘’yay!!!’’ she lift her hand excitedly.
‘’you know every girl would kill to see you like this.’’ Mao said as Yamapi wear the apron.
‘’oh really? Wait until you knew another side of me.. im sure you will say it to yourself, ‘oh what a lucky girl am I’.’’ as he smile mischievously.
Mao laughs, ‘’hentai (pervert)!’’ then she jokingly throw a napkin’s pin. And it’s accidently landed on Pi’s left cheek.
‘’itai (ouch)!!’’
‘’ah! gomen (sorry)!’’ Mao ran to him as she looked up to examine it. ‘’I don’t aim to hit you this hard!’’
‘’no.. it’s okay. Although I started to feel like im a human dart board.’’ He joked because actually it’s not really hurts. But he’s just find it funny to see how she worried about this.
‘’Pi! Don’t say like that. Ah.. you’re making me feel more guilty.’’
‘’don’t be, it’s nothing. Im just joking, you know.. it’s not that hurts.’’ He said because he doesn’t want her feel bad about it.
‘’but as an idol you cant have a scratch-‘’ she still put her hands on both of his cheeks.
‘’but as a human, im fine.’’ he patted her head lovingly.
Then as usual, when Yamapi cooked, Mao just prepares the table, and then she tries to clean the living room, maybe re-arrange the DVDs or something like that.
She sat on the floor and turned to see Yamapi who still cooking. The apron’s ribbon are tied in the back of his neck and waist, somehow it suits him in his back that actually looked really manly and well-built. And it actually matches his blue t-shirt as the apron has the same color.
Mao smiles lovingly even though she knew he didn’t realize it.
Then she remembered about when she accompanies Jun cooked in his kitchen back then. well, the atmosphere isn’t like this.
Suddenly, she got a slight of anxiety in her heart, thinking on how Jun will react about her and Pi when he finally notice or knew about them.
She walked to him and watched he cooked in high spirited as he lifts the wok repeatedly.
‘’eh.. abunai (it’s dangerous).’’ As he felt a pair of arms sneak through and circling his waist when finally Pi turned off the electric hotplates because he finished.
‘’doushite (what happened)?’’ he said as he puts his hand on hers.
Pi can feel that Mao shook her head as her head keeps snuggling on his back. He frowned but he sighed understandably.
He slowly turned around to face her, ‘’is there someone bothering you, my little Mao?’’ he said as she just a little kid. ‘’tell Aniki (big brother), and I will get rid of them just like a snap.’’ He joked. ‘’and don’t worry, my apartment is ghost-free.’’
She still didn’t say anything as she hugged him and can hear his heartbeat with her ear.
‘’ you just want to be in my arms, right? oookay, you can have it.’’ he chuckled, ‘’earlier you keep insisted that you’re hungry and went away from me, but now.. really, Mao-chan.. you really are something.’’ Pi laughs a bit.
He can feel her grip in his shirt on the back is tighten, then he knew that something is really bothering her mind.
‘’okay, what is it?’’ he broke the hug immediately and saw Mao was just hold back her tears.
‘’Mao-chan?!’’ he actually panicking as he saw the tears filling her eyes, ready to falling down.
‘’gomen (sorry). I ruined our happiness for finally being official like this.’’ Mao wiped her tears abruptly with the back of her hand.
‘’no.. no.. what is it? you can just tell me..’’ he caressed her head repeatedly as he actually so nervous.
‘’I.. I kinda worried about.. Jun-kun. About how he will react.. or he will treat me.. when he finally knew about you and I.. well, im sure he already knew there’s something between us, but.. now that we’re official.. I think it’s.. worst for him.’’ Mao explained.
She can feel that Yamapi stiffen a bit since he heard Jun’s name, so then she added quickly. ‘’no.. it’s not that I worried of him or something more than that. Wait, yeah, I worried about him, but I just worry because I care for him like a brother.’’
Pi smile at her, ‘’yes.. and when someone who you consider as your brother loves you, but you didn’t love him back, you might worried about what could happen to your relationship in the future, right? don’t worry, I didn’t misunderstood.’’
‘’thank you.’’ Mao mouthed.
‘’well, I cant promised you anything about Jun-kun, since im not him. But I can assure you that everytime you have to faced him, or anything related to him that includes you in it, I’ll stand by you. Of course im not gonna let you suffered by yourself. As long as I was needed, I’ll come. Okay?’’
She smiles and say, ‘’just exactly like what I expected from you.’’ as a tear that remained in her eyes just fell from her eyes.
‘’eh... I thought there’s nothing left.’’ She said jokingly.
Suddenly, Pi bent down as Mao’s eyes got bigger, but then she slowly closed her eyes when he kissed her. Their first real kiss.
When he pulled himself back, he said, ‘’im sorry, I just hate to see someone cry in front of me.’’
Mao’s react isn’t exactly what he thought. She laughs. ‘’God.. now I have to worry then, because you can just kiss any girl OR anyone when they cried in front of you.’’
‘’eh? N-no..’’ Pi also laughs because of his own words.
But then somehow she’s just like in dazed.
‘’and.. you actually really REALLY good at it.’’
‘’what?’’ Pi frowned.
‘’kissing.’’ Mao said as she touched her own lips
‘’it’s not.. like that.’’
‘’you must be so experienced, right?’’
‘’eh? Ch-chotto (wait)’’
Suddenly, Mao looked up at him, ‘’ne.. but why earlier I can hear your heart got doki-doki (beat faster) when I hugged you?’’
‘’eh?’’ really, Pi is really cornered right now. First being told as a good kisser, but then accused to be so experience and it sounds like it’s a bad thing when Mao said it, and lastly, busted on being doki-doki when she hugged him. DAMMIT.
‘’uwaaa~ doushiyo (what I have to do).. my new boyfriend are really good at girls.’’ Mao broke their embrace and walked to the living room as she sit on the sofa, hugging the cushion.
‘’chotto matte (wait a minute)!’’ as then he followed her and sit on the floor in front of him.
Suddenly, Mao say, ‘’gotcha.’’ And she laughs really hard as then she hides in the back of the cushions but still peeking at him.
‘’eh?’’
‘’it’s a punishment because you steal a kiss from me.’’
Yamapi bulging his eyes. He doesn’t believe that she just make a fool of him.
And out of the blue, as she ignored him jokingly, she bent down and whisper, ‘’you’re not lying about this apartment being ghost-free, right?’’
‘’I don’t really kn-‘’ as then suddenly Mao kissed his cheek, quickly and produced a loud kiss sound.
‘’or im not gonna come here anymore.’’ As she stood up and leave Yamapi with his hand in his cheek. ‘’uwa.. my stomach is growling. Yakimeshi, here I comeeeee!!’’
‘’DONDAKE (what the hell)!?!?!’’ Pi shouted a second later as Mao laughing out loud.

The peoples who really knew about them being official right now is just Shun-kun, Ryo and Masami-chan.
Somehow it’s quite uncomfortable because both of Shun and Ryo was close to Jun, but they seems doesn’t want to involve any further to either Jun’s feeling and also to Yamapi’s relationship. Both of that guys just try to respected 2 of their friends, and that’s it.
NEWS actually also knows about it, but just like before, they knew because they see and could understand it. Yamapi really glad to have members in the same group like them. Well, aside being the leader, he also want them to treat him like a friend.
‘’hey..’’ he called Mao on the phone.
‘’hey.. where are you right now?’’
‘’im on a photoshoot with NEWS. Today I will have 4 different photo sessions for 4 different magazine.’’ He laughs.
‘’yeah yeah.. NEWS is on their peak.’’ Mao joked. ‘’describe about the concept.’’
‘’well, the first one will have a similar concept to Happy Birthday.’’he meant the NEWS’ song.
‘’really? You know how I really love the looks of all the members on the music video.’’ Mao said.
‘’yeah.. me with a vest and suit, right?’’ Yamapi asked.
‘’you’re so full of yourself!’’ Mao laughs.’’but, yeah.. like I told you before. I really like it. somehow it suits you.’’
‘’the rest.. hm, if im not mistaken, 1 of them was kinda casual, but I dont know yet about the other 2..’’
‘’souka (I see).’’
‘’MAO-CHAAANN..’’ Tegoshi shouts with his usual silliness behind Yamapi.
‘’It’s Tegoshi, right? say hi from me.’’ Mao said.
‘’Tesshi! She said hi, too.. so now shut up!!’’ Pi shouted back at Tegoshi, jokingly.
Then he turned to his phone again, ‘’and how about your today’s activity?’’ Pi asked.
‘’let’s see.. I just continue with my paperworks, it went crazy.’’
‘’don’t worry, you’ll finished it.’’
She laughs, ‘’easy to say those words because you already passed it.’’
‘’well, at least you’re smarter than me, so..’’ Yamapi hangs his sentence.
‘’thanks for the praise.’’ She joked.
Suddenly, there’s someone called Yamapi’s name.
‘’ah, gomen (sorry), Massu called. The photoshoot will be started.’’
‘’okay then.. so, maybe we’ll not gonna meet today, right? well, see you tomorrow then.. jya ne (bye).’’
‘’jya mata ashita (bye and see you tomorrow).’’

So then it’s just like a daily basis, almost every morning before Mao go to her campus, she will come to Pi’s apartment if he start his work not too early, about around 9 or 10. Just drop by to say hello, and usually she will bring something for breakfast, or cook it for him. Even sometimes, Yamapi is still sleeping.
‘’you know.. I started to feel bad for you.’’ he said one day when he just woke up and leaned to his bedroom door as he saw Mao opened the meal box that she brought from her house.
‘’eh? Nande (why)?!’’ she asked.
‘’you’re my girlfriend, not my housekeeper or babysitter. I should have treat you better, wayyy better than this.’’ He walked to her as he wear his shirt that he hold before.
Mao laughs at him. ‘’I don’t mind.’’
‘’I thought that Yamashita Tomohisa’s woman will be so spoiled, but if I think more of it, that’s what I like about you, you can say no and you mean it. But you still can be so cute, even though sometimes I want to squeeze you everytime you were so annoying when you tease me.’’ Pi said it as he kissed her cheek.
‘’ohayo (good morning).’’ He said.
‘’morning.’’ She replied with a smile.
‘’yappari (as I thought).. Ryo was right.’’ Yamapi sat on the chair.
‘’eh?’’
‘’yeah.. he told me that now I was just like a husband with a wife and 3 children. And look at us.. we’re just like an old couple, right?’’
Mao’s laughing really hard. ‘’yeah I guess.. although it’s doesn’t sounds bad.’’
‘’I agree. But I always thought that Shige is the oldest among us, not me..’’
‘’uso (it’s a lie)! He couldn’t be the oldest one! It’s Kei-chan, right?’’
‘’yeah.. Shige is the youngest along with Tegoshi, but he’s just.. well.. old.’’ Pi said.
‘’hidoi (cruel)!’’
Mao offered some onigiri (rice balls) that she made, and Yamapi took one.
‘’ne.. is your parents really okay with this? With you come here to see me almost every morning and if it’s not in the morning, you even came at night.’’
Yeah, when Pi have an early morning work, then at night, he will pick Mao up and they will have dinner together or just spend some time before he drive her home later.
Until now, it’s the only way for them to be with each other these days.
‘’no.. well, my dad didn’t really talk about it, but my mom really understand you, I guess. Besides, I already 21, right? what am I to you? an underage?’’
Pi laughs. ‘’why are you saying like that? Well, forgive me, but it’s my first time to be involve with someone really.. um, nice.’’
Mao staring eerily at him like she said, ‘nooo.. you’re not just say that im nice.’
‘’what?’’ Pi said as he understood the looks.’’it’s true, you see, I knew many girls in this industry, believe me, I DO-‘’
She cut it, ‘’yeah, I know.’’
He stare back like, ‘that’s not what I meant, just listen to me first.’
Then he continued, ‘’and they are just like.. really ignorance when it comes to their personal life such as family and so on. Well, aside that many of them actually live in Tokyo only by themselves.’’
‘’yes.. many of them.’’ Mao agreed.
‘’so.. now I kinda have no idea how to put myself when I faced your parents.’’
‘’you can just be yourself. They’re just like your mom, you know.. it’s okay..’’ Mao said. And somehow she understand, maybe Pi is just a bit awkward when he met her dad since he used to grown up without any father figure.
‘’thanks.’’ He said. ‘’and one thing.. im sorry because we still cant enjoy our time together in a date like any other couples.’’
Mao’s laughing as she stood up to take more ocha (green tea).
‘’well, I cant complain because with our condition, I think we will never be like that until.. what? Forever?’’ she joked.
As then she wants to sit again on her chair, he took her hand so Mao walked closer to his chair. ‘’no.. I promised it wont take forever.’’
Mao just smile. ‘’and besides, to be like this is actually so nice, isn’t it?’’
‘’yes, it is.’’
In a sudden gesture, Pi pulled her down so Mao sat on his lap. ‘’eh?!’’
As he faced her, he said, ‘’yaa~ why cant I just spend the day with you? im too lazy for work.’’
Mao rolled her eyes, ‘’it’s not you’re working on a boring job in an office. Many people would dream to be in your position, right now.’’
‘’yes, with you here.’’ He joked.
‘’aww.. come on!’’ Mao said as she staring at him like, ‘don’t be like that’.
‘’what? Im sorry, but sometimes it’s really hard not to keep you close.’’
‘’boys will be boys.’’ She said.
‘’but I can assure that with you, it’s not just like that.. well..’’ then he hangs his sentence.
‘’hm?’’
‘’ie (nothing).’’ somehow he doesn’t walk to talk about it.
‘’what? Now you’re making me all curious about it.’’ she said as she grabbed his shoulder.
‘’no.’’
‘’Yamapi..’’ she have this warned tone.
Then he said, but with a smaller voice as he seems embarrassed. ‘’with you, there’s a real feeling involved. There! Satisfied now?’’
He closed one of his eyes while he waits Mao’s reaction. And it turns out exactly like how he expected.
Mao smiles like she’s facing a 5 year old kid and say, ‘’awwwww.. you’re just too cuteee.’’
‘’see? I hate when you do that.’’ Pi said.
‘’I don’t care.’’ Mao still smile as she pinched both of his cheeks.

Mao was walking from her campus to Pi’s apartment around 6 PM. Tonight he’s on the tv show Music Station, performed for NEWS new single. She said that she will wait for him and just watch him on the TV, although her email message havent got any reply from him.
Then she thought about what her manager said two days ago.
‘’you said that you’re positively will finish all your paperwork, thesis and I don’t know what else, in November or December, right?’’
‘’well, hopefully.. why?’’
The manager seems to think a bit and then he said, ‘’well, if there’s any sudden change of plans, im hoping that you weren’t gonna complaining, okay?’’
‘’what do you mean by change of plans?’’ Mao asked.
‘’see, actually there’s so many good job that offered for you, and I still try to rejected it because I respected your own will to finish your academics early than schedule. But if there’s something really good that I cant even rejected for your sake, so.. we have to rescheduling your plans.’’
‘’eh??’’
And still, he didn’t say more about it.
Mao walked into his apartment as she remember that Pi always said, ‘’becareful, sometimes Toma or Jin cant get into my unit so easy and rushingly.’’ She laughs as then she opens the door.
‘’Konbanwa (good evening).’’ Suddenly she heard someone said to her as she took off her shoes.
‘’eh? Yamashita-san..’’ Pi’s mom was there! ‘’konbanwa..’’ Mao replied.
‘’Tomo havent inform you yet, right?’’
‘’well, actually, he didn’t even reply my mail!’’ Mao laughs.
‘’that son of mine..’’ his Mom shook her head.’’you know, he can be extremely shy to me, but sometimes he could come to me and say things that quite amusing. Just like today, he said to me that he wanna ask a favor.’’
Mao looked at her. She’s really pretty and Yamapi actually looked like her. The way they talk is really similar too.
‘’Tomo came and just said, ‘ne ne.. can you bring my Mao to any place that she wants to go? because tonight I cant accompany her, I have to stay at the TV station at least until 2 AM. Maybe she just want to hang out in my apartment, but then you can try to ask whether she wants to go out or not. Okay?’’’
‘’oh my God! You shouldn’t have to-‘’ Mao feel kinda bad. ‘what am i? a child?’
‘’no.. no. it’s okay.. besides, it’s a rare –very rare- chance to see him like that. And I feel really glad about it. So, what do you want to do? I bet you actually want to see him live on MS, right?’’ his mom said.
Mao smiled shyly. ‘’yes.. do you mind?’’
‘’no mother would mind if they on my situation right now.’’ she laughs.
As then Mao turned on the television, his mom went inside Pi’s bedroom. Then Mao peeked for a while, thinking that his mom might cleaned up or something and she should help her.
‘’Yamashita-san?’’ She saw his mom checking his room, whether there’s any dirty clothes or something messy.
‘’ah, hai (yes)?’’
‘’let’s watch it together. And if there’s something that you want to clean or else, we should do together.’’ Mao said as she leads her back to the living room.
The lady is laughing. ‘’ actually im kinda surprised to know how clean his apartment now. I have a strong feeling that you’re involved in this.’’
‘’eh? Watashi (me)?’’ Mao asked, ‘’I even almost never went inside his bedroom.’’ And a second after that she’s kinda shy about her ‘confession’. But it’s true, she’s knocking his bedroom door when she came in the morning to wake him up if Yamapi is still sleeping.
‘’well, of course you’re not the one who cleaned up, you’re his girlfriend, not his housekeeper,’’ apparently he and his mom have a similar way of thing,’’but maybe, he actually cleaning up by himself because he didn’t want you to see all the mess..’’ his mom said it with a smile.
Mao smiled too, and then his mom said, ‘’look..’’
Then NEWS came out to the stage, waving at the camera. Mao and Pi’s mom watching together as they eat some dango (somekind of Japanese cake) that his mom brought.
Tegoshi and Yamapi was the one who did the talking tonight.
And when the MC asked about Pi’s first love, he said, ‘’it happened to me around 6th grade, we went on a date and then because we still want to spend some time together, we went out in one station early, but unfortunately we lost as we walked home. A good thing is we walk hand in hand, so it’s kinda succeed.’’
The MC asked about how they finally get home.
‘’I didn’t really remember about it.’’ as a second after that, Pi said, ‘’why the hell I tell things like this? It’s so embarrassing!’’
His mom actually laughing. ‘’silly..’’ she said about her son. But Mao can see that she was so proud of him.
She adds, ‘’he might just embarrassed as he realized that you watched him saying those stuff right now.’’
‘’ah. you’re right.’’ Mao agreed as she laughs too.
Then not long after that NEWS perform their song. Mao watch it as she read an email from her manager. He said that Mao should go to the management tomorrow.
‘eh?’ and she replied.
After NEWS perform, they still sit there on the stage along with other guest stars, especially Yamapi who’s sitting a bit on the front among the members. It seems that he’s doing something with his phone, actually.
Suddenly, when Mao’s waiting for a reply from her manager, her phone ringing. A new mail. But it’s from Pi.
‘’eh?’’ Mao said to Pi’s mom, ‘’he sent me an email.’’
‘’really? That boy. During live broadcasting show..’’ his mom shook her head and giggled.
‘’he said, ‘hey.. have a good time with my mom?’’’ Mao read the email out loud so his mom knows what its contain.
Then she replied as she said loudly, ‘’yes, of course. What do you think you’re doing? You send an email during the show!’’ and then she adds a dekome (an abbreviation of decoration mail, it’s how the Japanese said about something/iconic colored and moving things that you used in your mail for decoration) like this: >.<
She, along with his mom can see now on the TV that Yamapi actually was looking at his cellphone. But then he realized that the camera took a focus on him, he didn’t take his cellphone and just put it beside him on the big sofa.
His mom stood up as now a group of 3 female singer performed. She went to the kitchen to be ready to cook something for her son’s supper.
Then Mao suddenly got a phone call. She excused herself and answered it.
She talked kinda seriously, and that’s a quite long conversation, too.
As the TV shown a commercial break, the phone in Pi’s apartment is ringing.
His mom walked and answered it.
‘’hai, moshi-moshi (hello)?’’
‘’mom? Where’s Mao? her cellphone is busy.’’
‘’yes, she’s on the phone with someone. Doushite (what happen)? Do you want me to say something to her?’’
‘’I just want to say sorry, because tonight the show is going to finish really late, I think it’s better for her to go home earlier. I don’t want her walk home by herself too late at night.’’
Suddenly, Mao appeared on her side and say, ‘’is that Yamapi?’’
His mom said as she gave the phone, ‘’hai (yes).’’
‘’Pi?’’ Mao said. ‘’Jun insisted that he wants to meet me right now. Doushiyo (what should I do)?’’
