A man puffed out a ring of smoke from a cigarette barely hanging from the edge of his lips. His droopy eyes beneath a white sailor hat revealed such tiredness and boredom that even his wrinkles and grayish-white hair seemed like ornaments one would never pay attention to. The matching uniform of his had numerous medals and honors sewn on it, and silver stars were studded onto the shoulders on each side. Each of these represented an accomplishment of him as the Empire’s military man.
Whilst drowning in his own thoughts, the doors behind him slid open.
“Captain! An unidentified object has been found in the shrine we raided and we have retrieved it for further examination.”
A sentinel donning a tight-fitting white uniform informed him of the news with a very respectful tone. The latter, back-facing his subordinate and hiding behind the huge chair, merely gave him a go signal with a thumbs-up slanted slightly to the side.
“Yes sir!”
The sentinel exited with another low bow, causing his helmet to almost fall off from his head. The captain was now all alone in the pure white room again. The capacity of the room was huge, but was filled with nothing but him, oxygen, and the sophisticated technologies that empower this slave ship he commanded. ‘Iron Maiden’, or so was this ship named, was not one which travel on the waters, but one which fly in the skies.
“Perhaps not so after all…”
Captain Sowell gave a final gaze at the endless amount of stars drifting in the galaxy above on the other side of the huge glass window before he got up from his chair. He gave his lean body a stretch and headed towards the teleport point which will bring him to the hangar. Within a fraction of a second, a flash of light engulfed him and he was gone.
“Sir!!”
“Sir!!”
More sentinels greeted him as he proceeded to the group of scientists examining the pod they have just retrieved.
”What is this?”
Sowell demanded a reasonable answer while staring at the ancient-looking metallic object in the shape of an egg. There were beautiful but indecipherable symbols carved on the surface of the metallic structure and it seemed that the size of the egg was huge enough to contain a life form like them. Curious, the scientists tried to pry open it, but could find neither openings nor gaps to start with.

“I’m sorry that I have to do this… But this is for our people’s sake.”

“S-s-sir!!”
One sentinel screamed at the top of his lungs as he pointed towards a sudden crack on the egg. As Captain Sowell examined closer, the fissure grew and extended to the other end. The gigantic egg then began to roll along the floor, scaring every people out of the way.

“…No… please… don’t…”
“Goodbye …”

The metallic shell of the object cracked open finally, filling up the hangar with freezing cold white smokes and revealing a fully-grown male crouching stiffly in a fetal position. His lips are purple and skin is slightly blue due to the freeze he suffered within the device he came out from. By the looks of his, it is most likely that this young male is only eighteen or so despite his long hair being of a queer ice-blue with a tinge of jade.
The earrings he is wearing on one side consisted of a small carved ivory ring with lilac threads hung beneath. He donned a bizarre-looking white robe secured in place by a similar lilac waistband and loose, long pants which tightens at the very end near his ankle. His strangeness aside, the boy appeared to be quite a pretty looker.
“Looks like he’s from some other place which has higher technology than most. Another undiscovered race perhaps…This device he is hidden in sure is new to me…”
Captain Sowell detoured to the other side to get out of possible dangers and murmured to himself. To his surprise, the eggshells were gone the moment he tried to take up a piece to examine.
”Whoever he is, he sure is unfortunate enough to get onto this ship. Take him to the slave cabin if he’s alive!! Yes, and check whether he has any Mu in him. ”
(***Mu, or M.U. = Acronym for “Materializing Unit”, an ability to materialize energy or other forms of power. When properly utilized, it can cause some serious destruction even when unarmed. However, people with Mu are extremely rare and are almost thought to be extinct…***)
Heeding the command from the Captain, two sentries grabbed the stranger clumsily by his arms to lift him off the grounds. As the frosts enveloping his entire body melts away as droplets of liquid and escapes from the edge of his long sleeves, his heartbeat returned gradually to give his skin a slight pink. The low, thumping sound frightened the sentries to a great extent that after the Mu examination announced the negative result; they threw him into the slave cabin located in the deep lower deck immediately.
“Strange escape pod in a shrine, strange young boy… Now that we know there is no Mu in him, he will be just another slave for the Empire. What a day…”
Captain Sowell sauntered past his sentries and entered the teleportation point back to his room with a yawn.

Finally, chapter 1 =).
In whole, this story contained elements from fantasy,action,romance,comedy, and a little bit of sci-fi due to the technology ..... argh, it's so mixed up that i have a bad feeling about this XD
i'm gonna go slow because i had alot of schoolwork at hand... so its best to subscribe =\ (well, as if people would want to read it in the first place haha)
Anyway, [Soukyuu ni...] meant "In the Azure" ... skies? maybe lol~~ And the girl in that poster, i don't know who she is yet O_O/
