Red’s shouts too stopped the airflow surrounding them. She fumbled awkwardly for a moment, backtracked a little, and knelt onto the grounds in pain. Dark red blood was oozing out like a broken dam. She was shot in her right thigh, and like a bird injured on its wing, the Kurt could not run anymore.
”Run… Azure…”
“Azure what are you doing, run! Don’t waste the chance they earned for us!!”
”RUN!”
Kazo begged him to make a move on his legs, but Azure stubbornly stood firm on the grounds. Why, he thought in anguish, why must they risk their lives for him? It was not as if he has promised them to save the world, it was not as if he was their deep acquaintances. It was not as if he has not doubted them at the start.
So why…?
Some humans fell, and more Kurts were injured. Bloodshed was everywhere… and this was all because of him.
Anger brewed strong, and his breathings became irregular. The Juhnas and Lilith’s shouting could no longer be heard. The Humans standing not too far away from him felt like little midgets which urged him to crush. Yes… this is the feeling, the trigger.
He will kill them.

A crisp, tingling sound similar to the ivory ring he wore rang, and Anzu’s voice coming from within his mind stopped his fury for a brief moment. But that was all. This time, no matter how much she called out, Azure’s consciousness was lost in his rage. The similar cutting winds surrounded him once more like a translucent shield. And a large blue circle with symbols written at its circumference emerged. The only difference was that, this time, the circle was a whole lot larger, covering every area including the Juhnas and everyone else.
The gate to his soul, the Holy Symbol has emerged once again.

“Gee, this guy never listens…”

“This is… no good.”
Both the Humans and the Kurts have stopped dead in the midst of their fighting. Despite the Anti-Mu bangle still in place on his wrists, Azure’s power does not seem to be controllable by the simple Machina. Red watched the process in horror while clutching her injured legs. At this rate, not only the Humans, everyone within the circle will be killed.
The avian figure weaved by his energy appeared once more, and flew around its conjurer elegantly. A traumatized Azure stared at the humans and their machinas with his expressionless face, and held up his right hand once more. He straightened his five fingers, and prepared to give commands to his Mu when ---
It happened so suddenly, that he does not quite know when exactly it started.

“Alright, here goes nothing~”

It was the sound of Lilith’s flute, with its melody so soothing, that all anger dissipated from him immediately. There she is, standing in between him and the Humans. There were wings which were almost transparent under the sunlight sprouted from her back, just like a white pigeon’s. Caressing breeze enveloped him gently, and its warmth cured every one of their injuries.
But that was not all;
The comforting voice of Anzu’s song could also be heard distinctively in his mind. Her voice was soft and pacifying, intoxicating its listener like a fragrant wine. He was drunk, and yet he was still sober at the same time. Together, the songstress and the flutist performed in unanimous perfect harmony… The song of prayer, ‘Madain Seri’.
“Light of the town
As lives of the people glimmered.
Clears a path of uncertainty and points to the next way.
Doubting no more, go ahead without turning back.
We, as the children of Anu and Ishtar,
Blessed by the Sun and Moon,
Enter the gates of intermingle.

Return to where you belong.”
His Mu wrapped its huge wings around him in silence and vanished when the song has ended. Right in front of him stood a panting Lilith, her materialized wings have scattered into thousands of translucent feathers. As they were blown in the wind, they disappeared gently without a sound.
He knew this feeling, for he has experienced it before with Anzu by his side. So this is Lilith’s healing Mu, he thought weakly as fatigue soon overwhelmed him.
Knowing that they are cured and out of danger, the Humans picked up their Machinas once again. This time, they pointed it in his direction.
Lilith could not turn back on time. Azure was collapsing when the Humans fired. He felt two bullets penetrating right through from the back simultaneously. His white robes felt damp. He is too drained to feel any more pain. And that was all that he saw before collapsing.

A/N
I seem to like the idea of fainting/collapsing/etc. XD. i wonder why. And, as usual, this chapter is a little too short, and many mistakes here and there... subjected to change ^^! (esp the song lyrics. it's so not song-liked that i tink i will change the lyrics =\)
anyway, the poster... i just felt that since Azure is the main, he should at least appear lol.. and so... i got his face next to lilith. (bah, lets just imagine him to be a pretty boy, i know the drawing alone is deceiving XD)
school's busy for me, so i probably wont update for the next few days.
