(***Elders are leaders for their race. Mostly wise, extremely old, and are Mu users. E.g. Maya of the Juhnas and Kongi of the Giants. ***)
There is a need for a person to stand up and unite them. Someone who had the strength and desire to do so, and most importantly, he must not be from any known race to prevent one-sided attacks from the Humans. The Elders and their people waited long… and finally, one came.

Kazo walked along the noisy bazaar located at the central turfs of the Giants, stealing glances occasionally at the items on sale. The dwellings and shops of the Giants were all built from blocks of a special type of earth, which when heated at high temperatures gave extreme hardness and a crimson hue. Houses were basically built to look like dome-shaped hills with large holes as their entrances and exits. The huge race had little education in agriculture, for they are pure carnivores. For food, they would hunt at the mountainous ranges.
”Meat, meat and meat.”
The Juhna whistled as he proceeds from one stall to another. But one thing though, the Giants sure are relaxed in the situation they are currently in --- The ceasefire with the Humans will come to an end soon. As he turned around a corner, a fleeting image of a young brunette girl caught his eye, for she stood at a height of only around 5’4, which was only a third of a Giant’s size. The white cape she wore to conceal herself sure looked warm enough for one to get dehydrated.
“Lilith?”
The girl’s image disappeared instantly at the sharp bend in front of him, giving him no chance of tailing behind. Whatever, he thought; she must have sneaked out of the coliseum to enjoy the fun like him.
Meanwhile, Gunter and Elder Kongi made their way to the Coliseum, and were shocked to see that half of the roof was being blown off. When they entered, the fate of the battlegrounds was even more disastrous. There were huge holes everywhere, corroded ceilings on the verge of falling, and the entire atmosphere filled with sand blown up and swirled around by the remnants of Azure’s and Gola’s Mu.
Gola was laying on a pile of rubble, panting and trying hard to laugh at the same time while Azure and Lilith stood by his side to pat his back.
“Gola… What happened?” Elder Kongi knelt down and inquired the fallen Giant.
“Elder… T-T-This boy is amazing… He beat me…. I didn’t even h-hold b-back… Fufuufu…” And the reply was followed by a series of coughing.
“Pops you really shouldn’t laugh in your state.” Lilith suggested.
Elder Kongi and Gunter then turned to Azure.
“Azure, so I assume you’ve learnt how to control your Mu.”
”Yes, thanks for giving me this chan---.”
“No, we should be the one thanking you.”
”??”
“What we will be telling you may sound like a heavy weight for you to bear, but we ask for your forgiveness.”

Night ensued a few hours later, and the fellowship was finally reunited. Kazo kept mentioning about the mysterious girl whom he saw loitering around sneakily at the bazaar, leaving Gunter in a painful headache.
”Really, Gunter!! She’s a ghost! She must be a ghost!!”
”Kazo, I think you need to cool…”
But the Juhna kept discussing his ghost theory with the other, giving the latter no peace for his night. Meanwhile, Azure sat alone by the balcony of the inn they were staying at, and enjoying the night lights of the Giants’ household.
“Azure, please lead the races to victory against the Humans.”
That was what Elder Kongi said while kneeling honorably in front of him at the coliseum. What he said was a sentence which thousands and perhaps millions of the other races had been wishing to convey. And that was what made him nervous… perhaps even a little scared. He lifted up his legs and hugged them close towards his torso as if for an extra sense of self-assurance.
“Azure?”
Lilith’s voice pierced through the silence as she swiftly sat behind him. Azure jerked and stared at her, like a person whose secrets were being revealed.
“Y-yes?”
“Nothing. I was just asking what you are doing. Anyways, nights like this in barren lands sure are cold…Burr…”
She was wearing her green Juhnan costume all along, which was sleeveless and thin. Of course she will feel the coolness; Azure finally came to a conclusion.
“Err, well...”
Sit closer to him? Lilith thought sheepishly while hiding the little blushes on her cheeks.
”You can go back in.”
Oh man… She was defeated by Azure’s uncaring remarks, as usual. Really, she wondered, he needs a person to teach him some socializing skills badly. But well, that was not why she was here tonight.
“About what Elder Kongi said just now… What do you think?”
Azure lowered his head and closed his eyes.
“I guess… I will have to say yes. I have implicated Kazo and all of you more than enough. The Juhnas, the Kurts, the Giants… and perhaps many other races I will get to know in the future. If, this is the wish of all races, I will gladly accept it. After all, I didn’t want to see anymore sufferings and racial discrepancies…”
Lilith then stared at him hard, so hard that he thought he would be killed by the stare.
“What are you saying?! You sounded as if we are making use of you~”
”But, I have a favor to return…”
“Elder Kongi gave you a choice, not a demand! I’m sure you have seen what this world is like, so it was all about coming to a decision. To help, or not to help, isn’t it that simple? Either way, I can assure you that this war will be inevitable, you or no you. But remember this, Azure, we believe in your judgment and will respect your decision.”
He looked up once more and glanced at her fair complexion. After being reproached by her, he is starting to think that this could have been Lilith’s true character. Beneath her frail physique lies a maturing woman of a steel soul. Maybe that was why Mu possessed her, his distracted thoughts wandered away.
“A… judgment…”
The suddenly piercing pain his temples experienced made he let out a small yell. As he grabbed his forehead with both arms, indistinguishable voices were slowly lining up in order in his mind.
*************************************************************************************
”Judgment Day shall come, and the fate of the Seeds will then be decided.”
A stern woman made her prophecy, her firm voice horrified many. Although he could not see anything, he knew that the woman was someone he has had deep acquaintances with.
”With this, will the killings end?”
He asked.
“With this, it might be soon.”
That was Anzu’s voice… and she appeared to be muttering something. He could only make out the outline of her in her usual white robe, but somehow he could feel her fingers creeping on to his.
*************************************************************************************
”Azure, Azure!!”
”… … …?”
When the pain subsided and he opened his eyes once more, Lilith’s hands were shaking his violently.
“You sure you’re alright?”
“Y-yeah… Some parts of my memories are coming back to me. It seems that I was in the same predicament in the past…”
As his brows frowned, the sigh that escaped his lips revealed his internal struggles. Just as he thought and memories reflected, the killings will never end once the other races started a war on the Humans. The path to freedom will not be easy, and will be laid down using the blood of the people, Humans or no. His shoulders sulked lower, as if something weighty has been resting on them.
“You know, Lilith? The weight of the world is heavy… it really is. But I will shoulder it, because this is what I wanted to do.”
Azure continued to drown himself in his thoughts and turned away, when suddenly ---
“Azure.”
“Huh---“
As he turned around towards where Lilith sat, that part of his face was poked by a slender finger which has been waiting for this moment. What was that? He tried to figure out what the girl was doing, poking his face like that.
“Ahah! Gotcha!”
“?”
“Don’t sulk like this okay? The word ‘Friends’ was not invented for nothing, because they really exist!!”
Lilith is now pinching and twisting his unblemished face and is thoroughly enjoying it. ‘Well you still have us’ was what she was trying to say a moment earlier. Apparently some shyness in her held her back from saying the sentence.
Friends. Azure lowered his eyelids a little to make the world he is seeing a bit smaller. With people shouldering weights together with you, it may not be that heavy after all… He thought in contentment.
He is… happy.
“!!!!”
Lilith’s eyes were so huge, that Azure thought her eyeballs will fall out anytime soon, as if she has just seen the ghost Kazo was talking about.
”W-what happened?”
The clueless boy widened his eyes in surprise and began to search the corners of the streets for some abnormalities.
”N-nothing…”
She turned to the other side and clutched her longer hair in shock. So he does know how to smile, she thought in surprise. Although she was rather troubled ever since Gunter mentioned that Azure could have been already belonging to another person, but that does not matter anymore.
Perhaps not yet.
Because to her, that particular smile he showed her tonight was priceless.
