“Ugh!!”
“Don’t recall anymore, Azure! You are in pain!”
Lilith, as well as her brother, worried for the wellbeing of the boy, while Gunter assured the others that Azure will be alright. As the small Juhna took the lead and marched forward, what came into view startled him.
“I think we’ve reached somewhere…”
In front of the group lies a dark chamber located on a slightly raised platform. As the group illuminated the room with their torches, five stone tablets finally came into view. Flowers withered beyond recognition surrounded the objects, and there were carvings on them. From the looks of it, it seemed to be an altar…
Perhaps this was where Azure was found.
”Oh…my…”
Lilith felt a little scared and stepped backwards for a moment. There was a certain force which prevented her from striding forward. Fear could be the answer, but she felt that it was something else.
”Azure, what are you doing?!”
Ignoring Kazo’s shouts, Azure plodded towards the center of the pentagon formed by the tablets with difficulty. He clutched his head in agony which increases with each stride. Despite the pain, he knew he had to take a closer look at the structure which might trigger his memories. With a final step, he stretches out his hand---
”Praise not of me, for I have sinned.”
”If this is your wish, I am willing to oblige.”
“The seeds of the world… children of our own … the unique gift for each of them…”
“My prayers will be heard by the gods, for I am the priestess of Anu and Ishtar…”
Numerous voices swarmed into his mind as he fingers made contact with the inscriptions on one of the tablets. Some belonged to him, some from Anzu, while others were alien to him. They spoke of many events and terms unfamiliar to him. Many, but none with his name. The voices were then followed by vague images. The snowy mountains, meadows, the Temple, the Forest…
“Argh!!”
The pain circulating in his head felt like numerous hammers hitting against his skull, stealing away his sight and hearing. He knocked himself against the tablets and collapsed to the grounds. Kazo and Lilith tried to calm him down, but to no avail.
“By the promise, we exchange our vows…”
“Never to ever… part again…”
The voices intermingled with each other to become a ball of inseparable noises, and as if a whiff of smoke, the noise and the fleeting images were gone in the next instant. He understood quite a lot of things, yet he understood nothing of the real truth. There was all but one voice in his head right now…and it was speaking to him through his mind directly.
“Find me, and I will tell you everything.”
Rather that the voices which sounded like part of a history, this particular sentence Anzu mentioned sounded current. Bewildered, Azure replied her, but it sounded to others as if he was talking to air due to the side effects of his headache.
”Where must I go?”
“For you to be here, there is a reason. As the Elder said, ‘The fate of the world lies in your hands’... Fulfill that, and come back to find me.”
Anzu sounded fainter as she spoke, but the listener knew she was on holding back her tears.
“Wait!! Anzu!!”
Azure tried to call her back, but her presence within him faded away like a breeze. He leaned against the wall in silence, back-facing the others. Kazo was lost and did not know what to do, but Gunter and Lilith stepped forward towards him.
“Anzu…” Azure then began, “My task to fulfill…”
The one task which only he could do; the fate of the other hundred and seven races. Inevitably, it will involve a war. But it was never his intention to cause bloodshed. Is not there another way?
”Azure…”
Although Lilith did not know what Azure understood from his touching of the tablets, but she tried to understand. As she got closer, she squatted down in order to see his lowered face hidden beneath his crouching torso. He is frowning. Then, she smiled.
Then, the earth below their feet shook. Cracked tiles from the ceilings began to fall. Sounds of something larger than the Giants could be heard stomping their way towards the temple. Sensing the possible danger, Gunter led his friends through the labyrinth using the map Elder Kongi gave and back up to the level ground.
On their way, Azure casts a last glance at the relics. It was then he caught a glimpse of a white figure sprinting past the corridors to the rear. Winds caught her hood of her cape and pulled it backwards, revealing her brown tresses slightly passing her shoulders. Back facing him, that was all he could grasp of her looks. Her trace soon disappeared from his sight. All that happened within a few seconds. Was she the ghost whom Kazo spoke about earlier on?
The company ran, dodging the falling dusts and finally made back it to the entrance. But before they revealed themselves, Gunter made use of his small stature and took a slight peek at the outdoors. What awaited them was not the Door of return, but several huge machinas lined together to form a huge arc. Their route back to the Giants’ lands was broken.
”Lilith, Azure, you two hide here while Kazo and I go out and face them. Mu users must not be caught by the Empire. Since they are already here, they must have known of our existence.”
He whispered.
”But~!”
Azure and Lilith struggled, but Kazo insisted on them staying put.
”They may not know exactly how many of us were here. So we are taking a bet,” he added.
”You two must go and placate the Elders from other races and have them join forces with the Juhnas and Giants. With that, we will be able to rebel against the Humans.”
”Gunter, Kazo, how can I stay here while you risk your lives?”
“Don’t worry. We are not prepared to die yet. Just watch.”
Pulling Kazo by his shirt’s tail, the two Juhnas ran out into the open.

Argh... Winglin's down and i've been dying to update this chapter XD. I've drew up the picture of one of the two gods, but in case it contained spoilers, i wont post it so soon =\~ hmm...
