“We have won beautifully last night with the help from the Kurts and Grimjaws,” Kazo raised his voice so that all could hear what the Juhna has to say, “And now, we shall prove that the morning victory belongs to us as well!”
The war has started for a month, and with the help of many races with their special abilities, the Humans are being forced to retreat a number of times. However, it does not mean that they are about to lose, for they have been firing the Apocalypse to aid their wins. With Scarlet fallen prey into their ands, the gigantic Machinan cannon will be able to be charged to an unfathomable level.
As times goes by, the death toll has been rising exponentially on both sides. None heeded Iris’ advice and proceeded with their venting of hatred --- The feeling which has accumulated for countless centuries will not be erased by a mere legend written on a piece of paper. But even at this rate, the rumored Ishtar did not appear. Soon, the goddess will be completely forgotten.
On Kazo’s cue, the largest army the resistance group was able to generate then charged fearlessly towards the automatic machinas made of steel, ignorant to them that the Apocalypse has just been fired.
Back in Ruthern Woods, the moans and cries from the casualties and their family overwhelmed the formerly quiet forests. Every household has been converted to a temporary infirmary, and the women and children were all being summoned to help in treating their wounds. Unlike the Humans, the medical knowledge of the other races is not as advanced and most seriously injured warriors were left to die.
“Argh..!”
Gorgon, the leader of the Grimjaws tribe, gritted his teeth tight to tolerate the unbearable pain. Placing her steady hands on his bare chest, Lady Maya gathered her Mu to locate the poisonous projectile needle which pierced right into him during the battle last night.
To be able to penertrate into a Grimjaw’s leathery skin so smoothly, Lilith thought as she prepared the gauzes and cotton buds for the other wounded warriors, the Humans must have been prepared for all these a long time ago.
A forest green aura surrounding Maya soon became visible to the others and Lilith could feel the intensity of her Mu. The air is still and full of death, except for the occasional cry of pain and the ominous noises from the fighting not too far from their hidden village.
“It’s going to be a little painful now, Gorgon,” Lady Maya smiled cheerfully as if warning a child.
“Argh heck with the pain. Just get it done with your best skills.”
“Rest assured that it will be over in a second.”
Lady Maya did mean it literally. For a moment, Lilith could swear that she saw her eyes open for a split second before shutting again. And it was within that same split second when her hands suddenly materialized something. Gorgon did not have the time to react to the sudden sting felt and it was all over.
Lilith then replaced her Elder’s postiong to close up Gorgon’s wounds with her healing Mu.
“You are the daughter of Schwartz Geiger eh?”
Gorgon muttered while panting hard through his snout. But it is not known whether he was really meaning her or her sister, Iris, who is now helping Gunter with the analysis of the Apocalypse’s blueprint.
“Yes...”
“Why are you helping us? You could have gone back to your father’s side. You, your sister, and that boy…”
“Azure?”
“Ah… yes that is his name… He sure is a strong lad.”
Gorgon recalled how Azure managed to fend off the blasts from the Apocalypse single-handedly with his overpowering Mu when the Grimjaws and Kurts had expected a total annihilation during the battle last night.
“He directed the blast to a lifeless swamp area, that lad. He could have given it back to the Humans as a return gift…”
“He wouldn’t do that. He wants to reduce the casualty level to the minimum.”
“Sympathy for the enemy… will only get all of us killed.”
Gorgon’s slit pupils emanated a murderous aura, which startled Lilith. Ever since the start of war, none of the people in the villages saw the Humans the same way they did like before. Lilith and her sister aside, the one facing the most scrutiny was Azure due to his unwillingness to kill anyone from the Human’s side.
Why did the Human boy help them? Has he any ulterior motives? What if he is the spy of Schwartz Geiger?
Such sentences could be heard by Lilith whenever she past by the people. They seemed to have forgotten how the village’s men were saved from slavery by Azure.
“Gunter and Lady Iris have found a solution to destroy the Apocalypse!!”
Another young Juhna in his early teens dashed into the room to announce the good news. The wounded and people tending them cheered and clapped. The usually dead atmosphere is now filled with relief.
Lilith smiled too, but her eyes were expressing another emotion. With the discovery of Gunter, the war should be over soon, but for now, she merely wished for Azure to be safe.

“Kazo!”
Tartan’s king, Alliduddin, drew up some sand to form a shield to block off a bullet heading towards the Juhna.
“Whoa! T-thanks your majesty…” When Kazo realized finally how dangerous the situation he was in, he could find no polite words to express his gratitude to the Tartan royalty.
“No need to be polite to me. On the battlefield, we are all equal.”
“Y-yes your majesty.”
“Hang in there, the Apocalypse has fired.”
Azure emerged behind the two clad in a simple jade green tunic protected with a Juhnan warrior’s standard armor.
“But there isn’t any---”
”I can sense it. Somehow, I was able to. Trust me.”
Although there are dirt and mud splattered on his flawless face, there is not a single stain of blood on him. Alliduddin understood his intentions and the two Mu users aimed their palms towards the southern skies where the Human’s metropolis is. Kazo then back faced them to help ward off any melee attacks from the human soldiers.
“We entrust our backs to you, Kazo.”
“Go ahead, pretty boy.”
Azure smiled and focused his energy. True to his senses, a familiar blast of light energy broke its way through the thick clouds and made towards them. It was way bigger than the one last night; the Humans must have drawn the Mu out of Scarlet and the Giant elder to their limits.
Alliduddin was hesitant at first, but upon joining their Mus into one, Azure’s confidence seemed to have spread to him as well.
”We won’t lose. “
All they need is a few more hours before the blueprint of the Apocalypse is completely analyzed. By then, the alliance of the five races can hail for their victory.
