NeeSah was walking slowly with KiBum that morning. She can’t walk straight still because her injure still hurts a lot. KiBum was accompanying her along the way. Her face was covered with anger and sorrow. It seems like she regret being injured like that. Plus, the fact that she can’t play baseball in the meantime... or perhaps, forever.
KiBum noticed her sad face and stopped walking causing her to fall a little. KiBum stared at her as she looks back at KiBum. “What’s the matter?” she asked. “I’ll carry you.” KiBum answered a bit mad. He carried NeeSah in bridal style. “KiBum... you don’t have to do this.” NeeSah said. “I can’t afford seeing you suffering.” he said in a tone regretting what happened. NeeSah kept quiet.
As they reach the inside of the school, Kibum let NeeSah stand and go inside the comfort room. KiBum waited. After a while, NeeSah went out and walked without saying anything. KiBum grabbed her wrist and hugged her. “I know what it feels to bring the same news, NeeSah.” KiBum said. NeeSah’s eyes become teary. She hugged KiBum back.
“Why is this happening? Why now that we’re going to the finals? It’d be great if it’ll happen after the game... but...” her words were cut off when KiBum kissed her lips. She closed her eyes and waited for him to stop. It lasted for about ten seconds. She pushed herself a little away from KiBum and smiled. “Thanks. That makes me feel better.” NeeSah said. “I’d do anything to make you feel better.” KiBum smiled. They walked again.
As NeeSah entered the classroom, MeiRin jumped in front of her. “How’s our champy?” she asked. “Champy?” NeeSah repeated. “Yep! CHAMPION!” MeiRin shouted. NeeSah laughed silently. “What’s with that name?” she asked. “You’re our champion, NeeSah.” MeiRin said as she look at NeeSah walking towards her seat slowly.
“I think you should leave her for a while, MeiRin... the result still makes her feel bad.” KiBum said. “Yeah... I thought to.” MeiRin agreed looking sadly at NeeSah who was sited down that time, looking outside the window.
[FLASHBACK]
They were inside the clinic with the doctor checking NeeSah’s foot. After checking, NeeSah went out and sat beside KiBum, next was Mr. Sol followed by FeiLin and last was MeiRin. NeeSah’s eyes were glued at her foot. KiBum placed his arms at NeeSah’s shoulders and gave her a smile when she looked at him.
“I have a bad feeling about this, Kibum.” NeeSah said. “Don’t worry. Everything will be fine.” Kibum said. “Let’s think positive.” he added. “Uhm, yeah, sure.” NeeSah said. And the doctor went out and sat at his chair. “So, what’s the result, Doctor Lee?” Mr. Sol asked as he sits on the chair in front of the doctor’s table facing him.
Mr. Lee was looking at the x-rays and papers. And then, he gave his statement. “Based to the results of her x-rays... [looks at those again] she can’t play baseball for the mean time... at least, for this whole month.” the doctor announced.
NeeSah’s eyes widened and so do with KiBum’s FeiLin’s and MeiRin’s. NeeSah’s started to cry. “Oh no...” MeiRin said. ***The finals will be two weeks from now on. And as the doctor have said, whole month... which means three weeks straight.*** FeiLin thought.
“Her foot was well injured by Mimiko. Isn’t it she was in the act of running when Mimiko stepped on her foot? That explains it. There’s a little crack at her foot bones for the shoes Mimiko was wearing is kinda heavy, plus, she exerted much weight when she actaully stepped on her foot. I’m telling you, NeeSah, if you don’t want to cause trouble on your game, leave it to your friends. Promise me you would not play.” the doctor said.
“I...” “She’ll not play. We’ll just let her watch the game.” Mr. Sol said. “Good.” the doctor said. “Mr. Sol, I have to play!” NeeSah demanded as she stood up immediately. Kibum suddenly wrapped his arms at NeeSah’s waist. “You heard what Mr. Lee said. You can’t play. Leave the finals to them.” Mr. Sol commanded.
“Come on, NeeSah, calm down. Sit down again.” KiBum whispered to her. NeeSah bit her lips and kept quiet again as she sat down with Kibum holding her hand.
[END OF FLASHBACK]
