Chapter 13

Despair

NeeSah was watching television on her pitch black room. Air con is opened and she was covered with her black thick blanket. She was sitting at the floor at the end of her bed and in front of the television. She was watching the news with her teary eyes. Probably, cursing the accident which took away all the dreams her father started for her.

[TV]
TV Announcer: We’re currently end the show with the latest sports news today.

1st Reporter: Good evening, viewers. The district tournament eliminations round is over. Schools from Korea’s districts fought for the Top 4 spots. We all know that whoever are the schools which build this four spots will therefore compete for the championship battles. And to bring you the top schools. Here is Yamane.

Yamane: Good evening, HanChae, good evening, viewers, this is Yamane bringing you the latest scoops about the baseball district tournament. We are here at the Miyama baseball field to show you the top four schools who won over the eliminations round. Holding the fourth spot is Kaika High, the fresh winners. The third spot was held by HotaRin University, MinSo being the second toppers and HanBei as the first on the top list. Championships will start at exactly two weeks from now... who will win? Everybody’s questions that need answers. Which of these great baseball teams will win the championship matches? We don’t know. [Keke!!] Back to you, HanChae.

1st reporter [aka HanChae]: Thank you, Yamane. That was the current news brought to you by ATP Channel.
[TV done]

“Damn, I will not be able to play at the championship.” NeeSah cried silently.

Downstairs, her mom was talking to her dad.

“I see, so how’s her foot now?” he asked.
“It’s fine... I think it’s getting better since their game.” she answered. “Oppa, do you think, she can play at the championship? I mean, even though the doctor told her not to play... I still think she can do it... even though I don’t want her to.” she asked.
“Trust her... she knows what she has to do. After all, she’s NeeSah.” he answered.
