“Okay, guys, next week, championship games will start. All in all, there will be four games. First game will be Kaika versus MinSo.”
“What?” they all groaned, probably, still annoyed on what MinSo’s team captain, Mimiko did to NeeSah.
“Yup. No time for complaining. Ms. Sol said we have to win the championships. As I was saying, first game is ours and MinSo’s and probably, at Tuesday or Wednesday next week. Now, whoever wins will be the first waiting team. The second game will be between HanBei and HotaRin, the two teams who got the two spots first. Probably, their game will occur on Thursday or Friday. Whoever wins will be the second waiting team.” FeiLin announced.
“Excuse me, does it mean there are two games in a week?” YooJin asked.
“Yep. Positive if they won’t be changing the schedules. It depends but they’ll announce the final schedule in the next few days of this week.” FeiLin answered.
“Great! It means NeeSah can play already at the second week?!” MeiRin asked.
Everybody went talking except for NeeSah and KiBum.
“I’ve decided about that.” Mr. Sol interrupted with his harsh voice making the team quiet. “FeiLin.” he called.
“Okay. As I was saying earlier, if we win against MinSo, we’ll be the first waiting team and we’ll have our second and last game at the second week. But as we all know, Doctor Soong gave NeeSah three weeks for her foot to recover. And two weeks will just expire this Monday. Games will start at Tuesday so NeeSah won’t still be playing that time. If we win, she’ll have the chance to play against HanBei or HotaRin. But considering the fact what Doctor Soong said... even though the three weeks given to her ends up, even though it’s enough for her foot to feel better, we are still UNSURE of it.” FeiLin explained, emphasizing the word UNSURE.
“Unsure? Of what?” Rica asked.
“If NeeSah’s foot will be fully recovered.” Mr. Sol answered, making his voice a bit sturdier.
“But she can run and pitch already!” YooJin said.
NeeSah’s head was bowed down and her eyes are glued to her foot while KiBum rubs her back.
“What do you understand by the term ‘fully recovered?’” Mr. Sol asked seriously.
“When it is all good and well-functioning.” Rica answered.
“No more pain.” YooJin added.
Then, everybody realized something.
“You mean, it still hurts, NeeSah?” MeiRin asked sadly.
NeeSah bit her lips.
“Not because she can run and pitch already doesn’t mean her foot’s okay now. There’s still pain. SO MUCH pain.” Mr. Sol said emphasizing so much.
“NeeSah...” they whispered.
“Now, Mr. Sol decided that before the last game, if ever we win and face HanBei or HotaRin, we will first bring NeeSah to Doctor Soong and check if she can play already... without pains and fears.” FeiLin said.
“Everybody, listen. I don’t want any burden on the team. I want you to play not for yourself but for the school and the team as well. A burden is a burden. Whoever plays selfishly without thinking of the team, will step out of the field in start, in the middle or in the end of the game. Understand?” Mr. Sol asked.
“Yes, coach.” everybody answered.
“FeiLin.” the coach said as a signal for FeiLin to speak again.
“Okay. The third game goes to the first and second loser. Whoever loses will be the third placer and the winner will be the second placer. The game will probably happen at Monday or Tuesday on the second week. Now, the fourth game, let’s say HanBei wins against HotaRin and we won against MinSo, we will be playing against HanBei for the championship. Whoever losses will be the first placer and the winner will be the champion. The last game will happen at Thursday. We have to be the champion, got it?” FeiLin asked.
“YES!”

“They won’t really let me play.” NeeSah told KiBum as they walked their way home.
“NeeSah, don’t you understand? They just want to protect you.” KiBum said.
“I know... but...” NeeSah said.
“No more buts. You should do what they want for it’s the best for you. Got it?” KiBum said as they stopped in front of NeeSah’s house.
“Got it.” NeeSah answered under her breathe.
“Okay. Go inside now, sweetie. Take a rest, okay? Goodbye.” KiBum said and gave her a kiss and a hug.
“Same to you.” she answered and went in while KiBum watches her.
===
Inside NeeSah’s room,
“Hmp! What’s the use of this medicine if I’ll not play? I’ll do whatever I want to do... I’ll play for the next game. Please, God... let me... for the last game... with HanBei.” NeeSah said as she looked at the bottle.
She got too much trust to her team that they would win it against MinSo for the second time... even without her... and she knows, time will come that she’ll have to face ShoRi, HanBei’s best player... KiBum’s admirer.
“I know we’ll meet there, ShoRi. That’s why I’ve been doing this... it’s not for my self, but for KiBum, because I don’t want to lose him. If only Mr. Sol and the others know my reason... they would understand me... on why I have to do this even though it hurts me a lot. This is not for me... but for my love and for my father. I’m sorry, Mr. Sol... if I have to disobey what you want me to do. Sorry KiBum, sorry mom, if I’m making you worry a lot.
