"Alright."
The taxi stops at the entrance of the Wan Chai Police Station, a three-story building that has stood through a long period in Hong Kong history.
The driver turns his head and says, "Ms., a hundred and forty two, please!"
The long-haired girl hands the driver a hundred and fifty dollars, and immediately opens the door and rushes out of the car. She covers her head with a pile of folders as it is still raining.
The driver calls her back for the change, but the girl has already disappeared into the police station. Shrugging, he turns the steering wheel to the right and gets his vehicle back onto the road.
As the driver drives along for another mile, he sees a beautiful Benz car stopped in front. A man standing beside the car is waving at him.
Halting his taxi in front of the man, the driver lowers his window and asks, "You want to ride?"
"Oh! Not me, it's Mr. Julian Lam. Wait a sec." The man knocks on the Benz car's window, and exchanges a few words with Julian Lam, who is sitting inside the car. Swinging the door open, the man covers Julian with an umbrella and lets him into the taxi.
The other man immediately puts Julian's luggage into the taxi's truck. After bidding Julian goodbye, the taxi drives on.
"Mr. Lam, where do you want to go to?"
"Airport." Julian says no more. His eyes immediately fall onto his laptop.
When the taxi almost reaches the airport, Julian notices an umbrella lying on the seat next to him. The umbrella has a dark blue color, with the tip white in color. He holds up the umbrella, and asks the driver, "Is the umbrella yours?"
The driver glances back through the mirror, and shrugs, "No .Probably it was left by the last passenger."
Julian studies the umbrella, and a strange sensation urges him to take it. He inquires, "Can I keep it?"
The driver gives a thought about Julian’s words, and replies, "Yes. I don't think the umbrella is that valuable. The "lost & found" room of the taxi station has enough of those."
Julian then puts the umbrella into his bag...

In the Wai Chai Police Station, Officer Gordon Chan's unit just has a meeting. The unit's police are returning to their room.
"Charmaine, come on, cheer up!"
Charmaine looks at Michael, and responds, "I will try to! But it's hard if you had a bad morning! And it wasn’t a fun thing to be scolded by Chan Sir." Her mouth curves into a frown.
Mimi, another policewoman, breaks in, "What happened to you this morning for being late?"
Sitting down in front of her desk, she answers "I woke up this morning when my aunt shook me. I found out my clock stopped running. It was actually already 8:15. I basically woke up late!"
She continues, "My aunt went to the park for Tai Chi every morning. She usually came back before 8:00, but because this morning was raining, the Tai Chi class moved to the recreation center. So she didn't return in time to find out I slept in." She stared at Michael, "And I thought you would wake me up!"
Michael holds up his hand, "Hey! I tried to. I rang your bell and knocked on the door. No one responded, so I thought you left already."
Charmaine resumes, "Alright then, sorry..." She suddenly stops, and a slight transform in her countenance occurs. Opening her purse, she starts digging the contents inside.
Phillip, another police, asks, "Charmaine, what are you looking for?"
"My umbrella! I brought it with me when I got out from my house this morning." Holding the purse upside-down, she lets the objects fall onto her desk. As plainly, there is no umbrella among the scattered contents.
Michael asks, "Did you leave it somewhere when you tried to get here?"
Charmaine looks up, "Oh! I must have left it in the taxi."
Mimi asks, "Is the umbrella really expensive?"
Charmaine replies, "No. It's just worth $5. But this is only my first time I use it, and I already lost it. See how unlucky I am today!"
Daisy, another policewoman, is reading a horoscope booklet. She questions, "Charmaine, let me see your horoscope for today. When's your birthday?"
Instead of Charmaine responding, Michael answers, "May 28th."
Daisy mumbles to herself, "May 28th...Gemini..." and continues, "alright found it. It said, 'Today, you are going to lose something. However, the person who brings you back that lost item will be your other half!' Hm... Really romantic!"
Charmaine just smiles back. Michael says, "Hey, don't be superstitious!"
Mimi says, "I don't agree! Charmaine, keep an eye open for your 'other half'!"
Charmaine says, "I think we should get back to work before Chan Sir scolds me again!"
Everyone returns to their desks, except Michael. He says to Charmaine, "I will accompany you after work today to the Taxi Station and see if we can find that umbrella."
Charmaine thinks for a moment ,and says "Okay!"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"That's all, Ms.!"
Michael asks, "Are you sure? She just lost it today. Probably not all drivers had reported back!"
The man answers impatiently, "Alright, I will go check."
Charmaine says, "It's okay if we can't find it."
Michael looks into Charmaine's eyes, "I want to be the one to find you that umbrella!"
Charmaine looks away. The man returns, and says, "No drivers said they found umbrella. Okay. I can't do anything!"
Charmaine says, "It's okay! Thank you anyway! Michael, let's leave."
Michael wants to argue more, but Charmaine pulls him out of the Taxi station.
Charmaine says when they got to the street, "Don't bother anymore. It's late. Aunt will be angry if we get back so late!"
Michael gives in, "Alright!"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Brother, Charmaine, you two are late!" Myolie says as she opens the door.
"Sorry!"
Myolie shouts, "Mom! They are back!"
Shirley Lau, Charmaine's aunt, comes out of the kitchen. She says, "What took you two so long?"
Charmaine responds, "It's my fault. Anyways, I will come and help you!" She runs into the kitchen.
Charmaine and Michael have been neighbors for a long time. Their families usually eat their dinner together.
The women set up the table, and all the people sit down and are ready to eat.
Myolie says, "Let me turn on the TV!"
The TV is airing an interview of a rich man, Mr. David Lam. Myolie comments, "Him again!"
{In the TV
Reporter: Mr. Lam, congrats you of gaining the privilege to provide all the jewelries for the France Royal marriage.
Mr Lam: Thank you! I am really happy of course! My son just took off this morning to France to further discuss on the issue! He will also drop by Africa to pick up the diamond we just bought.
Reporter: Oh! You mean the biggest diamond in the world?
Mr. Lam: Yes! It's just magnificent! Can't wait to see it in person....)
Melvin Ma, Myolie's Dad, says, "That Mr. Lam is just too rich!"
Mary says, "I read in a magazine the other day that said some of his money came from illegal routes! Michael, do the police know anything?"
Michael replies, "Yes, Mom! But we don't have enough evidence to arrest him!"
Charmaine comments, "If he can just donate part of his wealth, many poor will be benefited!"
Shirley says, "Sometimes, it is just unfair."

Mr. David Lam returns to his house at 11:00pm after the interview. His house is one of the prettiest and most expensive in town. He has over fifty maids and servants. He is basically a very, very rich man.
David asks the maid as he went in the house, "Where's Tai Tai and Bosco?"
"They are in their own rooms, Sir!"
"Um."
Suddenly, a maid shows up nervously in the hall. David asks, "What's the matter?"
"Sir...I found...a..paper..in the...garden, and... it said..."
David signals his bodyguard to take the note to him. He picks up the note from the bodyguard's hand, and takes a look. It seems to be a letter. He reads aloud:
Dear Mr. David Lam,
You don't know me, but I do know you.
I just wanted to warn you that tonight at 2:00am, you would be shot to death in your house.
BEWARE!!!
