‘What? A bit of a short notice don’t you think?’
-Chun
‘Shuttup, I know for a fact you have nothing planned, I checked your schedule.’
-Dong
‘HAHA alright alright. What time and where?’
-Chun
‘I’ll pick you up. Arron’s hitching a ride with me as well. Ciao.’
-Dong
“The food is pretty good, isn’t it?” Jiro asked between mouthfuls of pasta. “I read really fantastic reviews about this place online.”
Chun nodded his agreement. “Not bad.” He turned towards Arron who had been quiet and distracted throughout the entire meal, “Lun, hello? Put that thing away. You’re supposed to be out with us, not on a date with your phone.”
Arron looked up, blinking. “What?”
“What on earth are you so engrossed with anyway?” Chun looked exasperated.
Arron shot him a sheepish look. “MSN-ing with a couple of friends. Alright, I’ll tell them I’m busy,” he returned to his phone, a mischievous smile forming on his lips as he pretended to type and purposely read out in a monotonous voice, “Guys sorry I have to leave because Chun is jealous that I’m not paying any attention to him.”
Chun aimed a kick at him under the table.
“Ouch!” Arron yelped. “Fine I was just kidding!” he grimaced and frowned at Chun who feigned interest in his own plate.
Jiro laughed, shooting Arron a sideway glance when he was sure Chun wasn’t looking.
Arron gave an imperceptible nod than proceeded to say in a loud voice “Oh darn, she thinks she’s Queen of the world and everybody must bow down to her,” he injected just a hint of irritation into his tone to get Chun interested.
Sure enough, the big guy fell for the bait hook, line and sinker. “What?” he asked curiously.
Arron waved his phone in the air, a perfect bland of annoyance and amusement crossing his face, as Jiro looked on, impressed with Arron’s superb acting. “Hebe! She told me, and I quote her word for word, “bring some food for me because I’m starving and if you don’t do so, I’ll tell the whole world that you’re actually really gay” What on earth, the nerve of that woman!”
Chun let out a small bark of laughter. “I like her!” he declared.
“Well I don’t,” Arron scowled. “I suppose I have no choice but to grab her something.”
Jiro, thinking it was his turn to pay his part, chimed in with a casual “Where is she anyway? Home?”
“No,” Arron shook his head. “She’s on set visiting Selina,” he had refrained from mentioning Ella’s name on purpose, knowing that if Chun was reminded that she would be present today as well, he would never go with them willingly.
“Oh we should pop by!” Jiro said with fake enthusiasm, shooting Chun a cautious look to gauge his reaction. “Maybe we can catch Sel in action!”
Chun shrugged. “Alright, I’m free the rest of the day anyway.”
Arron and Jiro exchanged secretive, victorious looks with each other.

Calvin lounged in his chair in a deceptively lazy way, but inside he felt like his heart was going to burst from its erratic beating. He chanced a nervous glance at Ella who was sitting primly beside him, looking relaxed, calm, collected, everything he definitely was not feeling.
“Cal, that’s the ten millionth time you’ve looked at me. Is there anything you want to say?” Ella asked, a slow smile spreading across her face as she took in his increasingly panicky expression.
He swallowed, than shook his head. As if contending with having to film a bedroom scene with Ella wasn’t nerve-wracking enough, he had to do it under the scary, watchful gaze of her ex! Speaking of which…
Calvin took a moment to scan the area cautiously, reassuring himself that Chun wasn’t there yet. He heaved a small sigh of relief, than went right back to worrying about his upcoming take.
“It’s just acting. You don’t have to be so jumpy about it,” Ella rolled her eyes. “You’ve done a bed scene with another female star before, haven’t you?” she asked, referring to the time where he had to lie half-naked in the same bed with Angela Zhang in their movie, ‘Romantic Princess’.
“That was different!” Calvin finally gave up all pretence of being coolly composed and started shifting in his seat edgily. “I didn’t have to do…” he paused, searching for the appropriate words to use. “To do ‘other stuff’ with her! I only needed to lie still with my eyes close!”
Ella erupted into a peal of soft, feminine laughter. “Other stuff?” she asked, mischievously goading him some more.
“You know! There wasn’t any need for any touching or kissing…” he trailed miserably away, looking like he wanted to hurl.
“You look like you’re going to throw up,” Ella remarked unhelpfully.
“I feel like I want to throw up,” came his surly reply.
Ella stifled another fit of laughter as she regarded the guy sitting beside her affectionately. Pulling on a mock expression of hurt indignation, she said “I never knew the idea of making out with me repulsed you so much!”
“What? No! No that wasn’t what I meant!” Calvin hurried to reassure her, kicking himself mentally for indirectly insulting her. “I’m sorry, it came out the wrong way! I don’t find making out with you disgusting! I mean…”
This time, Ella really did laugh out loud, watching in amusement at the array of emotions flashing across Calvin’s face. First, he looked horrified at the idea that he had accidentally offended her, than he looked alarmed as he attempted to smooth things over, and now he just looked like he wanted to cry as he gave up all hopes of attempting to console her.
“Relax Calvin, stop fretting so much. You’re a decent actor, you’ll get through the scene with no problem,” Ella said, feeling a little sorry for causing him so much anxiety just now.
Calvin shook his head, “I’m going to piss everyone off with the number of retakes I need to do later,” he predicted in a muffled whisper, dropping his head into his hands as he contemplated the mess he was currently wallowing in.
Ella nudged him kindly. “If it makes you feel any better, we can go over the scene once more. You know, exchange ideas with each other?”
Calvin reluctantly nodded, trying his best to pull himself together before he collapsed into a heap of blubbering wreck.
Just then, Selina and Hebe appeared.
“Hello!” Hebe called out cheerfully.
“What are the both of you doing here?” Calvin asked warily. “I thought you two were talking in the changing rooms?”
“Oh we decided to pop by and see how our male lead is doing,” Hebe said with a broad smile.
“You just wanted to come and laugh at my distress,” Calvin drawled.
Hebe didn’t bother to deny it, only choosing to do a regal little wave with her right hand.
“Good luck later. I’m sure you’d do great,” Selina told him, granting him an encouraging smile.
He shot her a glare that she correctly interpreted to mean are-you-kidding-me-Chun’s-going-to-be-here-watching-me. She plastered a positive smile on her face. “You’ll be fine.”
“I hope so,” he muttered.
She turned away, pretending to study the patterns on the tiles she was stepping on. She didn’t like the idea. She hadn’t liked it from the start. When she had first brought up getting Chun and Ella back together, she had no idea she would be forcing Calvin into such a precarious position.
Now, it was too late to call a halt to the proceedings, but it didn’t make her feel any less guilty. She stole a look at him, an uncomfortably heavy feeling settling firmly in her heart. When the whole thing was over, she would apologize and make it up to him. She didn’t yet know how, but she would. Somehow.

I don't know if I'd written it clearly enough, but just in case some of you are a little confused. The plan was that Arron would use "bringing food to Hebe" as an excuse to get Chun to go with them to the sets.
Anyway, I hope you all like Chapter 15! =D
