I packed all by clothes into a suitcase for the trip I’m having with Raymond today. I’m hoping that this trip will be a nice one, only just the two of us. I waited patiently in my house for Raymond to come pick me up, I waited and waited but he still hasn’t arrived yet, my stomach begins to feel funny. I was afraid, afraid that he won’t come. I then took out my cell phone and dialed in his number.
“Hello?” Raymond said.
“Ray, where are you?” I asked
“Open your door, I’m right outside.” Raymond replied
I ran to the door and quickly opened it, and in front of me was Raymond, suddenly I felt so much better.
“Sorry, I’m late.” Raymond apologized “I hope I didn’t make you wait that long.”
I smiled at him in sympathy, “No, it’s fine, as long as you came.”
“Well ready to go?” Ray asked
I smiled and nodded my head, Ray helped me with my bags and we headed down toward the car. We then drove to the harbor and went on the ship to the island. I slept on Raymond’s shoulder most of the time during our ride. It was so nice, the cool breeze that’s blowing toward my face and Ray’s comfortable shoulder, I had a good sleep.
“Qian, wake up, we’re here.” Raymond said as he pat my arm gently.
I slowly opened up my eyes and ahead of me was the beautiful island.
“We’re here already?” I asked as I lift my head off of Ray’s shoulder.
“What do you mean already?” Raymond asked, “You’ve been sleeping for three hours.”
I laughed, “Really?”
“Yeah.” Raymond responded, “Some pig you are.”
“Hey!” I said as I slapped him playfully on the arm, “I thought you’re not going to call me pig anymore!”
“Okay, okay, I’m sorry.” Raymond said as he took my hand and held it. “Ready to get off now Ms. Li?”
I smiled at him happily and we both got off the ship. First of all, we went to the hotel that we already booked to check in for our room, after that, Raymond then rented a bike and took me around the island, it was beautiful.
“Look! They’re selling fish balls over there!!” I yelled in seeing the man selling fish balls.
Raymond then stopped the bike, “Want to go get some?”
I nodded grinning. Raymond then helped me get off the bike and we both walked to the man whose selling the fish balls.
We both got our own fish balls and ate it. I haven’t eaten something this good in a long time, and I haven’t been this happy in a long time either.
Raymond then fed me his last fish ball since he knew that I like it a lot, after eating we went on the bike and rode around some more. We went to the most interesting places in this island and ate a lot of good food. All of this great time had made me forget about all the bad things that have happened. But as night grew closer to us, I feel as though the time with Raymond is growing apart. We don’t have much time left. After the dinner we had a restaurant, I wanted to go to the beach and so we went there. We then made a small campfire and sat there looking out into the beach.
“Why are you so quiet all of a sudden?” Raymond asked as he looked at me.
I looked up at him, “I guess I’m tired, that’s all.”
“If you’re tired then do you want to go back to the hotel to sleep?” Raymond asked
I then leaned my head and lie on Ray’s chest as he wrapped his arms around me, “No, I want to stay here for a bit more.”
“Are you afraid that we won’t come back here anymore?” Ray asked, “Don’t worry, we can come back here anytime you want, I’ll take you.”
I smiled gently, “You have to keep your words.”
“Of course.” Raymond replied. He then looked down at me and smiled, I then smiled back at him. He leaned down and kissed me softly on my lips and let go.
“Can you kiss me one more time?” I asked him as I lift my head away from his chest.
He looked me directly in the eyes as he brushes the side of my face softly with his hand, then both of his hands were on the side of my face, he then brought my face towards him and kissed me on the lips again. I threw my arms around his neck as he indulged me into his deep passionate kiss. As we kissed, I slowly opened my eyes and saw Raymond’s eyes closed as he kisses me, I then started to wonder…by his kiss I can tell that he loves me so, but I cannot find the reason why he would cheat on me. I then caught myself being breathless by his kiss, and gently, I pushed him away from me.
“Sorry.” Ray apologized, “did I hurt you?”
I shook my head and smiled, “No, you didn’t.”
“You want to go back to the hotel now?” Raymond asked, “It’s getting dark.”
“Okay.” I agreed as we went back to the hotel.
When we got to the hotel, we both changed into our pajamas and went to bed. Raymond gave me a good night kiss on my forehead then shut the lights, I snuggled with him as we both fell asleep, but the whole night I could barely sleep. This is our last night together, the last time I’ll be with Ray, the thought saddens me so much that I cried silently to myself as Raymond is soundlessly asleep. It was two o’clock am, and that is when I finally fell asleep, then dawn arrives again, and it is time for me to go.
Yes, I’m planning to leave. Leave this island, leave Hong Kong, and leave Raymond. I’ve always tried to apply to this great art school in England, but they would never accept me, but finally just about two weeks ago, I received a letter from them saying that I am accepted. I was thrilled and yet sad at the same time, my dream of going to that art school has finally come true, but it so happens to be at the time where I’m with Raymond, I felt as though I’m torn between two things, I couldn’t decide. But after the incident with Raymond, I then consider this matter again. Maybe leaving is the best way for this.
I then wrote him a good bye letter and left it on the desk, and before leaving I kissed Raymond softly on the cheeks. I took my bag then took the earliest time to get back to the city.

Ray’s POV
I woke up to find Qian missing. I went around the room to find her, but she is no where to be seen. I was getting scared; worried that something bad has happened to her. I quickly took my cell phone out and called her but there was no answer. Where can she be? I took several glances around the room and finally I saw a letter on the desk, I rushed over and grabbed it and read it. It was from Qian.
Raymond,
I’m really sorry for leaving without saying good bye to you, but if I told you that I’m leaving then I know that you won’t let me go, so this is the only way. I’m leaving Raymond, I’ll be leaving Hong Kong, and I don’t know if I’ll be coming back or not. The truth is, about three days ago, I saw you and Shirley out in the harbor, what I’ve saw has hurt me so much. Not only that, but you’ve continuously lied to me. I gave you many chances to tell me the truth, I will forgive you if you told me the truth, but you didn’t and that has disappointed me so much. Being with you is too painful Ray, and I’m too weak of a girl to handle it. Being with you gives me this bittersweet feeling all the time, and honestly I do not like that feeling. You make me happy and yet sad, you make me feel loved and yet insecure, you’re honest to me and yet you lie. This cannot go on anymore, I want a boyfriend who truly loves me and is faithful to me, but you lack this. I love you Ray, but I cannot be with you anymore. I can’t bear to break up with you in person, so I chose to write you this letter to you instead. “If you love somebody, set them free. If they return, they were always yours. If they don't, they never were." I heard this quote from quite a long time ago, and I think it’s true. Consider what I’m doing right now as that quote. We need some time apart.

No…no…this can’t be true. How can Qian just leave like that? I have to find her, she’s probably at home. Without thinking, I threw everything in my suitcase and ran to the harbor as fast as I can to get back to the city. During the ride, I was so scared, where are you Qian?

Li Qian’s POV
I’m currently on the airplane right now; I then looked out my window and to take one last glance at Hong Kong. Then I took out the pictures that Raymond and I took when we were on the island, I smiled at how happy we were. Tears came rolling down my eyes, as I looked at the pictures, I didn’t want to leave and I want to just run out of this airplane right now and go back to Raymond, it’s silly for me to think like that, but I can’t bear to leave Ray. Leaving him is harder than what I expected to be. But it was all too late; the airplane is getting ready to lift off. As the airplane slowly lifts up from the ground, my heart feels it’s lifted too, so empty and alone.
**Flashback**
“If you can’t walk then I’ll carry you.” The 19 year old Raymond said
“Carry me?” I asked him shockingly
“Yeah, you can’t walk so I’ll carry you. Climb on!” Raymond urged
I carefully climbed on his back as he insisted, and the warmth in him has affected me. I felt so safe and secure.

**Another Flashback**
“Qian, wake up.” Raymond said as he tapped me more and harder, but still I did not respond.
“Oh my god Qian, can you hear me? Wake up!” Raymond shouted. He shook me by the shoulders but I still didn’t wake up yet.
Raymond then carried me down to his car and while doing so, I could hear him calling me to wake up, and from his voice, he sounded really scared and worried. I opened my eyes carefully and saw his frightful and sweaty face. But I know that he only cares for me as a younger sister and nothing more.
**End**
**Another Flashback**
“I’m gonna get you Raymond Lam!” I chased him all over the house. Raymond then tripped over the carpet and landed straight onto the ground, I also tripped and landed right on top of him, our faces only a few inches apart. I couldn’t keep my eyes off of his and he couldn’t keep his eyes off of mine.

**Another Flashback**
“Qian, I want you to be a part of my life, to go through all the happiness and sorrows with me, because without you going through it, I don’t think I can last. You were always there for me whenever I needed you, and I hope that you will continue to be there for me in the future, and I will be there for you. I know that I never actually considered your feelings before, but I will if you give me a chance to prove it to you. I won’t let you hide your feelings for me anymore; we will go through it together okay?” Raymond said
I embraced him tightly in my arms and said, “Don’t lie to me Raymond Lam.”
“Don’t worry.” Raymond said, “I won’t lie to you.”
**End**
**Another Flashback**
“Why are you hugging me so tightly?” Raymond asked, “You want to suffocate me?”
“Yes, I want to suffocate you till death.” I replied as I hugged him tighter.
“Two can play that game.” Raymond said laughing as he hugged me tightly too. “Give up yet?”
I shook my head and just leaned my head against his warm body as a tear drop came running down my cheeks, “Don’t let go.”
“Never.” Raymond whispered into my ears as we both just stood there holding onto each other.
