Well, since my first date with Tavia went so well, I’m deciding to ask her out on a second date.
On the phone
“Hey Tavia, Raymond here.” I said
“Oh hey!” Tavia said excitedly. I think she’s happy to hear my voice..hehe
“I was wondering if…umm…you want to go on another date.” I said slowly
“Another date? When?” Tavia asked
“Maybe somewhere next Saturday, whenever you’re free.” I replied
“Sure, next Saturday is perfect.” Tavia responded
“Great! I’ll pick you up at 6:00 pm!” I said happily
“Sure. Hey, I got to go now, see you on Saturday. Bye.” Tavia said as she hung up
“Bye…” I replied
Wow, that sure went well! She agreed so quickly, I bet she likes me too! Oh shoot, it’s time for me to go pick Qian up from the hospital, I promised her. I put on a jacket, took my car keys, and ran down to my car; I drove to the hospital as quick as possible. Qian is going to be mad at me again.
I was finally there and I ran up to her room and when I got there I saw her sitting on the bed with her bag all ready. I walked in slowly as I breathe rapidly enabling to catch my breath.
“You’re late.” Qian said angrily
“I know, I’m sorry. I tried to get here as quick as possible.” I explained
“I was waiting for you for a whole hour!” Qian shouted
I walked up to her and sat down on the bed to face her.
“I’m really sorry; please don’t be mad at me.” I said looking at her, but her face was turned away from me. “How about some ice cream to make you feel better?”
When she heard me say “ice cream”, she turned her face to mine with an excited face. She’s real easy to satisfy; if you give her ice cream then she’ll be happy again. She’s like a little girl.
“Really?!” Qian asked me excitedly
“Yep, it’s my treat!” I replied
“Well, what are we waiting for? Let’s go!” Qian said as she took her bag and linked onto my arm.
I shook my head and laughed at how childish she can be, but it’s cute.
On the car
“So how are you feeling? Do you still feel like throwing up?” Raymond asked concern
“Nope, I’m all better now!” Qian replied
“Good, now that you feel better, you have to make sure that you won’t get sick again because being sick is a very horrible thing.” I reminded
“I know, I know Ray.” Qian replied
“Anyways, I’m going to take you to the ice cream store that I took Tavia to last time.” I said “It’s really good; Tavia and I really liked that place.”
After I said that, there was no response from Qian. I stopped at the red light then turn my head over to look at her. Her face looked all sad, I don’t get it.
“Is something wrong?” I asked
“Nothing.” Qian responded not looking at me
“Why all of a sudden you’re so sad?” I asked
“Nothing!” Qian replied with a grin. Sigh…there she goes with her mood swing again. Girls these days have major emotional problems. One minute they’re this then the next they’re that.
We finally arrived to Ice Cream House. When we got in, we were assisted by the same waitress who assists Tavia and I last time. What a coincidence.
“Hello, welcome to Ice Cream House, will you guys be eating here or to go?” the waitress asked
“Let’s eat here!” Qian said excitedly
“Sure, we’ll eat here.” I replied
“Okay, please come with me.” The waitress said as she took two menus with her
She seated us to a small table in the middle of the shop. It was nice.
“Here are your menus, and if you’re ready to order then just call out my name, my name is Lisa.” The waitress replied
“Thank you Lisa.” I said
“You’re welcome.” The waitress replied. “Hey, I remember you! You came here last time, but you were with another girl. Is this young lady here your girlfriend or the other girl your girlfriend?”
Damn, she sure is nosy for a waitress. “They’re both my friends.” I replied
“Oh okay, well I won’t bother you two anymore. Take you time to pick.” The waitress said as she walked away
“She sure is nosy.” Qian said
“Oh yeah.” I replied
We looked at the menus, and picked our ice cream. Qian got an At the Cocoa Banana Cabana and I got a Coffee Lovers Only. We called the waitress and ordered, after fifteen minutes she came out with our ice cream.
“Wow, this taste good.” Qian commented
“I told you.” I replied as I took another bite
“Hey, can I try yours?” Qian asked
“Sure.” I replied
Qian scooped a piece of my ice cream and I took a piece of hers. After we finished, we just sat there talking.
“Hey, guess what?” I asked
“What?” Qian asked back
“I got another date with Tavia next Saturday.” I replied happily
“Oh…” Qian replied as she lightly smiled at me.
“I can’t believe she agreed! I have a feeling that she also likes me.” I said as I thought of Tavia’s beautiful appearance. “She’s a wonderful woman isn’t she?”
“Yeah…she’s great.” Qian replied unenthusiastically
“What’s wrong with you Qian? Whenever I talk about Tavia you get so weird, you don’t like Tavia or something?” I asked her
“What?! I never said that, and of course I like her, she’s my friend.” Qian replied
“Well, it sure doesn’t look like it!” I shouted
“That’s enough Raymond Lam, stop accusing me for not liking her!” Qian shouted back
“Listen, I’m not trying to accuse you. It just seems like you don’t like her, and you’re my best friend, I don’t want you to have any bad impression on my future girlfriend.” I replied
“Future girlfriend?” Qian asked
“Yeah, Tavia WILL be my girlfriend sooner or later. She definitely will.” I said confidently
“Alright, I wish you good luck then.” Qian said
“Thanks.” I replied
It was Saturday already and the whole day, I’ve been planning where to go and what to wear. This time, it’s not going to be just a casual date, but I’m deciding to take her to a fancy restaurant up in the mountains. I hope it’ll turn out romantic and she’s definitely going to fall for me. I wore black pants, with a white button up shirt on the inside, with a nice black jacket. I must admit I look ravishing. I also put on some famous cologne on that I bought from France. I hope this will work.
Before going to Tavia’s house, I dropped by the flower shop and bought a bouquet of pink roses for Tavia. Then I drove straight to her house, where I stood on the front porch again to wait for her. I called her and told her to dress fancy, so I can’t wait to see how beautiful she looks. I bet she’ll look lovely.
Tavia opened the door and she looked absolutely stunning with her strapless black dress that went up to her knee. There was also a pink flower that was pinned on the top right corner of her dress. She had black heels on which you could see her toes which were painted light pink. Once again, her makeup wasn’t too strong. She had eye liner on and with a shade of purple eye shadow which really matched with her black dress, she also had on some blush and lip gloss. Her hair was let down and it was curled very nicely. I was amazed how such a beautiful woman she is.
“You look very nice.” I commented
She laughed softly and replied “Thank you, you look real good in your black suit too.”
“Oh wow, I’m very flattered.” I joked
She laughed again. She probably loves to laugh.
“Well, shall we go?” I asked as I took my right arm out
She linked onto my arm and the both of us went onto the car. During the ride, we didn’t say much, and I kept turning my head over to look at her every few minutes. I hope that she’s not bored. After a one hour drive, we finally got up to the mountain where the restaurant is.
“We’re eating here?!” Tavia asked in disbelief
“Yep!” I replied
“Wow, but this place is really expensive.” Tavia said
“Don’t worry about it, I can handle it. All you need to do is enjoy.” I said as I smiled at her
“Thanks, but I feel bad if I don’t pay. How about I pay half?” Tavia asked
“Honestly, it’s okay. I want to treat you tonight.” I replied
“Are you sure about this?” Tavia asked
“Positive.” I replied
“Fine, if you insist.” Tavia said
We walked into the fancy restaurant, and it sure was very nice in there. There were many people there dressing up very nice, and there was also violin and piano players playing nice music. I looked at Tavia and saw her expression, she seem to like this place a lot.
We were seated by a waiter at a reserve seat that I reserved days ago; it was next to the window where we could look out at the beautiful Hong Kong. We ordered our food and also ordered red whine.
“Wow, this is amazing.” Tavia commented
“Yeah it is.” I replied “Would you like to have some red whine?”
“Sure.” Tavia replied
I opened the red whine and poured each of us a glass; we cheered and drank as we waited for our food to come. A while later our food was ready, it sure taste good. We enjoyed everything there because it was just perfect. After dinner, we had dessert which was one of their famous strawberry short cakes.
“What a dinner.” Tavia said laughing
“Yeah, I’m full.” I replied
Tavia then looked at the musicians who were playing the nice songs, and there were people dancing. I looked at her and knew that she wanted to dance.
“Would you like to dance?” I asked
“Dance? Oh no, not me.” Tavia replied
“Oh come on, I know you want to.” I teased
“I do, but I’m a terrible dancer, I can’t dance at all.” Tavia responded
“Don’t worry, I’ll teach you.” I said
“It’s okay.” Tavia replied
I stood up then dragged her to the dance floor.
“Raymond, what are you doing?!” Tavia whispered
“I’ll show you how to dance. Don’t worry, I’ve got you.” I said as I took her hand into mine, I took her hand and laid it onto my shoulder, and last, I slipped my hand to her waist. We got into the dancing position, then suddenly the music played again and we started to dance.
“Ahhh…I’m going to fall!” Tavia said as she closed her eyes tightly
I laughed and replied “You’re not going to fall, I’m holding on to you.”
“I can’t do this, I really can’t.” Tavia said as she opened her eyes
“Here, just follow my steps. It’s very easy…” I replied
I held onto her tighter as I started moving around the dance floor moving my legs slowly so she could see how it works. I did that for several times, and Tavia was able to follow the pattern. After that we danced on and on until we both were tired, we went back to our seats.
“Oh my god, that was fun!” Tavia shouted happily
“I told you, it’s very easy.” I replied with a smile
“Thanks for showing me how; I wouldn’t be able to know if you haven’t showed me.” Tavia said
“No problem.” I replied
After that, I drove Tavia back home, but before that, I asked if she wants to take a walk for a while. And she agreed, so we just walked around the city.
“I really had a great time today.” Tavia said suddenly
“Me too.” I replied
We walked and walked without saying anything. I took that chance to try to hold her hand, I almost got it, but then she took her hand away and breathed on it, I knew she was cold. So I took off my jacket and placed it on her.
“Remember to get a jacket next time you go out, you might catch a cold.” I said
“Oh thanks.” Tavia replied as she blushed a little.
We walked on and on after that, then suddenly the rain started to pour down.
“Oh crap!” I yelled. “We better go find a place to get under.” With that, I grabbed onto her hands and ran to a nearby roof for us to get under. When we got there I was still holding onto her hands, but I didn’t even notice that I did.
“Wow, the rain is sure hard.” I said as I looked out into the rain. There was no response from Tavia, so I turned around to look at her. I saw her looking down at my hand which was still holding on to hers. I immediately let go.
“Oh, sorry about that. I didn’t mean to.” I explained
Tavia looked at me and then smiled. Suddenly, she grabbed onto my same hand again, I looked at her in shock.
“I want you to hold my hand, not only for now, but later on in the future too.” Tavia said as she her cheeks turned red. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.
“You mean….?” I asked her happily
She nodded in agreement. I was so happy, Tavia finally agreed to be my girlfriend! I picked her up and spun her around. Today was one of the happiest moments of my life!
