Hebe slowly opened her eyes to find herself on a bed with black sheets and quickly recounted the things that happened. The boy, he was the boy he bumped into when she was late for school and the one he found sneaking around their house. I should’ve realised it was him, Hebe thought, I bet it was him who took me to this place. After her short discussion in her mind, she scanned the room without making a sound to find the boy sitting on a chair facing the window with his back to him. It was still dark outside.
“Maybe if I creep up to him and attack him with something, I might be able to get away,” she thought and got up ever so quietly. She saw a pen lying on the nightstand along with a couple of papers. This had to do. Hebe picked the pen up and tiptoed across to the boy and bit down on her lower lip, praying that he do not turn around. Just as she pulled the pen up, ready to stab him, she was interrupted.
“Don’t even think about it,” came his voice. To Hebe’s surprise, it was rather melodious and smooth. The boy turned around and she gasped when he grabbed onto her wrist and forced her to let go of the pen. It fell into his larger hands and he walked off to put it away.
“If you haven’t realised, your reflection was shown on the window,” he explained, leaning against the nightstand. Hebe turned to the side to hide her embarrassment and decided to check out the view than him. This room had a nice view, it was an ocean view.
“No wonder he was staring outside before,” she thought.
Finally snapping out of her daydream she asked, “Who are you?”
“That’s something for you to find out,” he answered without a smile.
“Why did you take me here?” she continued.
He refused to answer the question and headed to the door. “What did you do to my mum?”
The boy stopped walking. “I didn’t do anything to your mum but for the meantime she is safe.”
“You liar!” yelled Hebe.
“It does not concern me if you believe it or not.”
“If you said you didn’t do anything to her, how do you know if she’s safe or not?” pursued Hebe.
“I said I didn’t do anything to her but I never said I had nothing to do with the missing of her,” he explained.
“You bastard!” screamed Hebe, running up to him to give him a punch. He turned around and got hold of her arms and twisted them behind her. Leaning into her, he said, “Let this be my last warning, don’t even think about attacking me.” His voice was full of acid.
With that, he let go of her and walked out the doors. Hebe dashed to the closed door and tried to twist the doorknob but it was tightly locked.
“Damn it,” she cursed and kicked the wooden door. She ran around the room trying to find anything that could help her with trying to get the door open but was utterly disappointed. Hebe found another door which led her to the bathroom loaded with soaps and towels etc.
“I guess he doesn’t plan to let me out of this room,” she said to herself and opened the bathroom window to peak out just to find the ocean again. “And even if I can get out of this house, I don’t think I can get anywhere.”
Suddenly she heard the door to her room open and she sped out to find an old woman. “Hello dear,” smiled the old lady, “I am Mary. What may I do for you?”
Hebe raised an eyebrow and looked at her confusedly, “What?”
“You look tired; I think we should get you washed up,” replied Mary and opened the closet to take some clothes out.
“What?” stated Hebe again, confusion blurring her senses.
“Oh darling, you must be confused but there’s nothing to worry about,” the woman looked at her with pity.
“Yes, I am very confused but there is a lot to worry about.”
"Did Master do anything to you?” she asked in a worried tone as she stepped closer to Hebe and took her softer hands in hers. “I know he seems to be aggressive but I’ve been working here since he was born. He is…he…is… It’s very complicated,” she sighed.
“But why am I having such nice furniture and someone to take care of me? What is going on? I thought I was a prisoner.”
“Oh dear, you are not a prisoner. It’s just…”
“Mary! What is happening?”
“I can’t tell you sweetheart. Just believe me, you will be fine and so will your mum.”
“Is my mum here?”
“Unfortunately she’s not.”
“Where is she? Can you please tell me? I beg you!” cried Hebe, clutching onto her hands.
“I’m sorry, I cannot.”
“Then, can you please let me out? Please?”
“This cannot be done either,” frowned the lady and patted her soft hair, “Trust me, you will be treated with respect here but maybe just not with our Master.”
“Your master?”
“Yes, the young man who took you here.”
“How old is he? He’s already a master!”
“Oh, he is just a couple of years older than you but very skilled. Very.”
“What is his name?”
“Mr. Yan. Mr. Aaron Yan.”
