[An Residence]
"B..b...bride?!"
KangTa's eyes were as large as they could be by this time.
Grandfather An cleared his throat in a disagreement of KangTa's bewilderment.
"Miss Yang is the fine daughter of Yang's Oil Company's president, Mr. and Mrs. Yang
here. Why don't you properly introduce yourself, ChilHyun?"
"I am sorry, Grandfather, but I do not have any intentions of being engaged to this young
lady here."
KangTa said sternly, enunciating each word clearly and with dignity.
The whole room was soon filled with a dark aura of terror. KangTa's and Tony's parents
shot a disapproving look, while the Yang's looked extremely discontent. Yet the most
terrifying vision was that of Grandfather's, with his eyeballs ready to bulge out in anger.
"Oh? And is there any particular reason for disobeying my command?"
"Indeed. I'm seeing someone right now," KangTa stated with pride in his voice, not
fearing anything to have told the truth.
YangHyunJi looked fairly embarrassed and disappointed. Never in her 18 years of life had
someone rejected her.... that too, so boldly and so unhesitantly.
"Who would that be then?"
"LeeHaNeul, I'm sure everyone recognizes that name."
KangTa expected a reaction from his family. Truly, the next moment he could hear Tony's
mother going, "What a scandal...that illegitimately mixed child..."
When Tony heard her, he shot her a deadly look.
This was coming back to him all too clearly. And he knew what was going to come out of
Grandfather's mouth next.
"Well, then, since you have Miss Yang here now, I command you to stop seeing that lady
you're seeing now."
"No way."
KangTa wasn't about to yield an inch for this battle that he was losing already.
"There is only one person I'm going to accept as my bride and it certainly is not her, or
anyone else you pair me up with for that matter."
"I will not tolerate this juvenile act anymore," Grandfather's voice boomed.
"Why can't it be HaNeul? She is a well-raised lady fitted for our society just like anyone
else."
The old man snapped his fingers and the guards came. Seeing that KangTa wasn't going
to shut up anytime soon, he ordered,
"Take him to his room and lock him up until further notice."
"WHAT?!" KangTa exclaimed, "For what?!"
"For embarrassing your family in front of your guests, for disobeying my command and
talking back."
"What the f**k?! You're out of your mind!"
KangTa tried to fight off the guards but of course he couldn't win over 5 strong men who
were dragging him along the floor to his room upstairs.
"One more charge, for yelling out obscenities," Grandfather said firmly. He then shifted
his attention back his guests.
"I'm sorry, he's a reckless young boy."
"I'm assuming the deal still stands still?" Mr. Yang asked.
"Absolutely."
Tony couldn't think of anything because of the commotion aroused in KangTa's room,
ranging from "let me out you bastards" to the sounds of various objects crashing.
"How convenient. Oil company? Oil just happens to be the only business we don't own.
Of course there has to be an agenda behind all this planning of the Big Grandpa...."
Tony laughed bitterly. He was on his bed staring at the empty ceiling. He turned to his
side and reached out for a framed picture on the table by his bedside.
'SeungHo...'
'Hmm..?'
'Don't give up your future for me. I'm just a nobody but you're an heir to this huge
corporations.'
'I won't have any future if you are not in it with me, JaeHee. I can give up everything I
have if it means being with you...'
'Lock him up in his room!'
'I'm sorry, Sir, but we tried our best... she died.'
'How could she.... it wasn't a fatal injury....'
'I will not allow anything to get in my way... killing shall be eminent if anything holds
back the success this company shall have!'
"Deja vu."
Tony whispered silently to himself.
The picture was a little boy attacking (?) a little girl... with his kiss.

[That night, Lee Residence]
"Yes. Mm hmm. Sure! It'd be a total honor! I'll discuss it when my husband comes
back... yes, yes. We shall meet and arrange dates then? Oh, you have my approval for
sure! I'm totally willing to give her away..."
Mrs. Lee's incessant chatter on the phone finally ended.
"Who was that, Mother?"
JaeWon came down to the main room from upstairs and had heard the whole thing.
"Excellent news for both of us... we can finally get rid of HaNeul and also expand our
business here... we shall talk about it more when your father comes home in a few days."
"Get... rid of her?" JaeWon said in an unsure manner, "...meaning?"
The bell rang. One of the servants went to answer the door.
WooHyuk and HeeJun entered the house ever so casually. They had been here so many
times that it was almost like their second home.
"Answer is right there~"
Mrs. Lee hinted while smiling at WooHyuk with her eyes. JaeWon squinted.
'WooHyuk? What, he says he's going to get her but like that's so easy with KangTa and
Tony behind her back. What's Mother talking about?'
While JaeWon was contemplating, WooHyuk was creeping upstairs and was heading
towards HaNeul's room where she had been staying all day due to her illness.
He saw a maid coming out. When he walked past her, she bowed politely.
"How is she?"
He stopped and asked out of nowhere, which seemed rather irrelevant to his usual
behavior.
"I just fed Miss her medicine and she's asleep."
With her reply, the maid bowed again and walked away. WooHyuk smiled and extended
his hand to reach the doorknob of HaNeul's private world.
When he opened it, he just realized that he hadn't been in her room for many years. The
only occassions prior to that for his entry to the room was to sabotage it with JaeWon
when they were bored. That was only when they were still in elementary school.
He entered the room with a new feeling now. Everything was pretty much the same,
except for the fact that this time, she was actually in the room.. in her bed... sleeping like a
baby.
"Haha....."
He was reminded of everything he did to her last night, and how calm she was at his
actions. That suddenly caused him to close the door behind him and walk towards her in
some sort of determination.
"Soon you're going to be mine... it feels so good knowing that..."
The bedstand light was on and she was sleeping soundly, as if there was not a thing that
could disturb her. She looked feverish because her face was somewhat red.
WooHyuk was now right by her bed. He was looking down at her and was studying her
features. He slowly knelt down next to her.... and with his calloused hand from repeatedly
playing violin, he started caressing her hair.
Her body was aching all over so she was turning around constantly. But when she felt his
hand in her subconscience, she became calm and peaceful. Her lips gradually formed into
a very light smile.
"Mmm.... Kang... Ta...."
WooHyuk stopped his motion right away. Even though she only mouthed her words, he
knew what they stood for.
"Must you do this every time I try to be somewhat kind here..."
'KangTa this... KangTa that... I'll be looking forward to your reaction when you hear the
news... about me and you... not you and KangTa...'
One side of his mouth twitched in mixed feelings of anger and jealousy.
'I'll close that mouth of yours that mumbles other person's name..."
He moved even closer to her and leaned over to her face. Her eyelashes were trembling at
every little movement he was making, but she was still asleep for sure. When he ensured
that, he bent over and kissed her on her lips.
Right at that moment, her eyes snapped open. His cold lips couldn't possibly be ignored
even in her sleep, for she felt them all too vividly.
WooHyuk quickly moved away from her and stood up.
"Why, did my kiss wake you up?" he asked in a sarcastic tone.
"What are you doing here? Get out."
She sat up and demanded in her hoarse voice. Then, using the sleeve of her pajama, she
furiously rubbed her lips that were contaminated by some unexpected visitor.
When WooHyuk noticed some marks on her neck he had left the previous night, he let out
a small laugh... an indication of triumphant feeling he held inside him.
"Leave me alone today. I'm not well."
HaNeul phrased her words which all came down to a same meaning in the end...
commanding for him to get out of her room.
"Make me. Let's see what you can do here."
He said in his typical, mocking voice. That was no surprise to her that he wouldn't listen,
so she figured that she didn't have any time to waste seeing his despicable face... especially
after a degrading incident from the night before.
"Fine then... I'll get out."
She kicked her blankets away and dragged herself out of her bed, despite her headache
and aching body. She was wearing a plain light blue pajama.
'I'm so not in mood for this....'
She thought hopelessly as she set a step onto the ground, only to feel a sharp pain
pervading her senses. Bad case of cold for one night...
But she preceeded nonetheless. Anything was seemingly better than to be in the room
with WooHyuk alone. She let that happen once and look what he did to her.
She frowned in discontent and started walking very slowly and cautiously.
Only until WooHyuk pulled her by her arm....
HaNeul stared at him.
"Don't you dare...." she said in a still hoarse voice.
"I just found out that you tend to get brave when you are ill. 'Don't you dare...?' Haha...
are you nervous that I'm going to do something to you?"
She rolled her eyes in disgust.
"Let go... please. You had everything you wanted last night. What more could I give
you?"
"................"
WooHyuk remained silent at her comment. Did he really get what he wanted? She was
wrong. He never could, and will never get what he truly wants from her...
"You're being ridiculous here, WooHyuk.... "
She said in a tired voice.
He wanted her.... heart.
If he couldn't have it, which he couldn't....
Some wild thing clicked in his brain during his contemplation. The next thing he did
automatically and not out of his own impetus was that he pulled her towards him and
embraced her tightly.
"What the..."
Before she could say anything, her head was buried in his chest already.
"Don't make me hurt you anymore...."
He whispered in her ears.
"The more you accept my wrongdoings, the more I want to hurt you."
"Then what do you want me to do..."
"That! Stop that!"
He yelled angrily as he removed her from him and held onto her shoulders. He shook her
violently.
"Stop asking me what you want me to do! Do you know a thing called retaliation or
attacking back?! Why don't you ever fight for yourself?!"
"You are not worth fighting for myself."
WooHyuk stopped immediately when he heard her.
He removed his hands away from her and looked at her. Those tired blue eyes.... yet with
strength....
"....Or anyone else for that matter..... I don't care enough about others to defend myself."
