[9 years later: 12th grade]
BIG 5 was now down to BIG 4, upon Tony's moving to America. HeeJun was still
somewhat of a stuckup snob, but he had gotten a lot more friendly. LiRa school's ladie's
men were WooHyuk and KangTa, for wherever they went, the girls followed. In fact, the
violin master class had grown to be colossal because they were in it.
JaeWon was officially declared an heir of Lee Corporations, so he was to study business
as soon as he got out of high school.

"I have a result of the music festival audition from last week."
The violin master class teacher, Mrs. Park announced. It was so obvious who was chosen.
Music festival was a prestigious competition where the best 2 players from each school
were sent to compete for the school. Every year, it was always WooHyuk and KangTa
who went, because ever since WooHyuk started playing, they had become neck to neck
competitors.
"JangWooHyuk."
The class applauded, it was nothing unexpected. HaNeul clapped reluctantly.
'I wish I could go with KangTa. We'd make an awesome duet.'
HaNeul sighed. She always came in third after the two. Nonetheless, she prepared herself
to be happy for KangTa since he was her closest, or rather, an only friend.
"And... the next will represent our school at the music festival with WooHyuk, with Bach's
Concerto for 2 Violins."
'Darn, I really wanted to play that with KangTa...' thought HaNeul sadly.
"LeeHaNeul."
Instantly, the whole class went dead silent.
HaNeul gulped, making sure she had heard right. Her momentary happiness was
overcome with fear of WooHyuk, and KangTa's disappointment. KangTa needed to be at
the music festival, it was especially important this year since all the recruiters were going
to be there.
She looked at KangTa, who was sitting across the room. He looked bewildered at first....
then a few seconds later, he applauded. The rest of the class followed what he did and
applauded as well. But it was all too mechanical.
After class.....
"Hey, congratulations!"
KangTa gave her a light hug. She smiled.
"Thanks... are you okay? I know you wanted to go... I don't know how I got chosen over
you," she said humbly. Because she knew it was true.
She froze when KangTa was replying, as she saw WooHyuk walking out of the class.
That boy had the most vicious, wicked grin she had ever seen on his face.

[Lee Residence, next morning]
HaNeul woke up from her sleep, the only time she obtained serenity other than the times
she played her violin. Habitually, she first washed her face and looked for her contact
lenses so she could put them on.
But this time, she couldn't find them.
She searched her bed, backpack, room, bathroom, almost everywhere she could think of,
but they couldn't be seen anywhere.
"LeeHaNeul! I'm leaving in 10 seconds!"
JaeWon's yelling could be heard from downstairs. No, don't leave! If you leave, I'd have
to take a bus and I'll be late to school!
"10! 9! 8765432! 1! Buh-bai!"
Soon she could hear a sound of car engine as the chauffeur drove off with JaeWon only.
~***Physics class: 1st period
"LeeHaNeul, absent?"
"I'M HERE!"
HaNeul ran in, breathing hard. She could feel her face burning bright from all the stares
she received from her classmates. This was her most dreaded class of her life, because she
had to sit right in front of WooHyuk. To make matters worse, JaeWon was in the class as
well.
"Don't be late, Miss Lee! Every day counts this year!" the teacher scolded.
HaNeul stooped her head low as she skittered to her seat and sat down.
"Today's lesson is on light waves and transmission. Miss Lee, could you tell us from the
reading why the sky is blue?"
HaNeul's heart made a loud thud sound. Shoot, why me?
"Umm.... because... the blue light particles scatter... and... and.."
She mumbled her answer, without raising her head.
"Look up please and face the class, Miss Lee, when you're giving your answer."
began to sweat and tremble, becoming tense. If she looked up, people would notice that
she wasn't wearing her lenses to cover her eyes. And whenever she didn't, she was
subjected to public mockery for having the blue eyes.
Her head stayed low.
------------------------
After class, she caught JaeWon walking out with WooHyuk.
"Give me my lenses back, JaeWon, I know you took them."
She demanded in a low voice, but not quite imperatively. JaeWon smirked.
"You can't be one of us just because you hide your eyes with brown lenses."
"It was your mom who told me to wear them because she didn't want any girl with blue
eyes walking around, claiming to be from Lee family!" she cried.
"You're NOT from our family, you're just a piece of tui gee who's leeching off of our
money! You know that!" JaeWon shouted back.
"Just for your information, my parents were married first before your mom married Dad!
Don't you see that clear enough?"
HaNeul blurted out in frustration, but she regretted saying that immediately. The next
thing she knew, JaeWon had grabbed her by her shirt collar and slammed her against the
wall. He was a head taller than her and there was no way she could win over her. He
hissed under his breath as he eyed her with an evil look.
"You shut your dirty mouth. Everyone knows your mom was a slut."
*SLAP*
Her eyes watered at JaeWon's statement, and her instinct led her to attack him in fury.
JaeWon let go of his grip and stepped back. This was the first time she ever stood up for
herself in many years, this was taken as a shock.
JaeWon raised his hand to hit her back, but WooHyuk stopped him.
"Why are you stopping me?! You wanted it!" JaeWon hollered. WooHyuk just shook
his head and motioned him to go away. So he did.
Standing in the empty hallway in the isolated science department was WooHyuk and
HaNeul, just the two of them.
HaNeul turned around and tried to walk away. She could always get new ones, there was
no need to go against WooHyuk for that.
But he stopped her by seizing her path, which surprised her immensely.
"What... what do you want? Haven't you had enough? Just... leave me alone!"
HaNeul stuttered as she backed away from him, but he was coming closer... a step by step,
an inch by inch.
She was not afraid of former BIG 5; she knew her dad favored her over JaeWon, she
knew that Tony had nothing against her, she knew that KangTa was her friend, she knew
that HeeJun had better things to do....
But WooHyuk was a different story.
'Shoot!'
She panicked when she felt her back hitting a wall. And WooHyuk was coming closer.
Her brain sent messages to her legs to run, but they weren't being transmitted correctly.
Her feet were glued to the ground, only to take whatever WooHyuk felt like doing with
her the next second.
WooHyuk was now only few inches away from her, there was no way for an escape. Her
eyes were rapidly filled with tears, which she refused to let out.
"I always wondered how it'd be, if you cried."
WooHyuk said quietly. She could feel his breath on her face, he was almost leaning on
her.
"With those blue eyes of yours... I've never seen you cry in the past 9 years...no matter
how much people made fun of you, no matter what kind of crap you had to go through... "
She gulped, waiting for this moment to be over. It was obvious what he wanted from her.
JangWooHyuk always got what he wanted, but this time, it won't work. Because she
forgot how to cry, there was no way she could cry.
He ran down his fingers on her soft cheek, examining her eyes carefully. To him still, they
were exotic. He truly wondered how it would be if she were to shed tears from those
eyes....
"And I dare you... to cry... now."
He was whispering by then. He had cornered her exactly where he wanted.
She shivered as she felt WooHyuk's long fingers running down her skin. 'Do anything but
kill me' was the sole prayer she could make.
'Tears, just come out... it's more important that I get out of this situation. Please...'
She begged her own self as she tried to squeeze out what once used to be her only shield.
WooHyuk saw that he wasn't going to get what he wanted.
"Well, then."
He sneered as he took her left hand and added pressure to his grip.
"Aahh! WooHyuk, you're gonna crush my hand!" She writhed and struggled to free
her hand, but the more she tried, more force was exerted. She could feel her blood
circulation getting cut off. She wouldn't be able to play her violin if he went on; and that's
probably what he wanted too.
'KangTa! Where are you?!'
She screamed inside for KangTa's name, in a hope that he'd come to help her as he had in
the past many times.
As if WooHyuk read her thoughts, he smirked and spoke in a cynical voice.
"If you are asking for KangTa, he won't come to save you.... because he's pissed that you
took his spot for the music festival this year."
