Not a single sound in the white eerie hospital room could be heard, nothing. Except for the constant beeping sound of the heart monitor beep beep beep. He was still alive. ‘For how long’ he wondered. Taking a seat next to the small bed, he cried.
He was ghostly pale, cuts and bruises marred his beautiful flawless skin. An IV was hooked on to his right arms, the oxygen mask helping him breath.
Why are you crying now?
Do you know how much tears I’ve shed because of you?
Do you remember?
-----------------------------------------------------------
Junsu met him when he was hired to work into the same coffee shop. Drawn by those warm chocolate orbs and his soft features, Junsu was instantly attracted. Being a newbie, Junsu offered to show him the lopes. It didn’t take long for them to be acquaint with each other. A couple of months later, there were together. Yoochun was his name.
It was the same routine everyday, Junsu would pick Yoochun up at his apartment and they would go to work together. In the afternoon Junsu finished his shift and headed to the university for his classes, coming back around five to pick Yoochun up. A routine that neither of them mind or so he thought.
“Baby, I’m sorry. But my mom called again I have to run errands for her. So I probably wouldn’t make it in time to pick you up from your shift today.” Junsu said over the phone, while maneuvering his car out of the parking lot.
“It’s ok Su-ah. I just take the train home.”
This was the nth time that Junsu had called and told him that he couldn’t pick Yoochun up from work. Lately he had been so busy and preoccupied, they hardly ever saw each other anymore.
As Yoochun was walking out of the train station, he saw them in the bookstore across the street. It was Junsu and a man. They were holding hands and hugging, romantically. His heart broke at the image. Yoochun tore his teary gazed away and walked home.
“I saw you yesterday at the bookstore.”
“Oh! No no no that was..he’s my frien..”
“NO!! I don’t want to hear it” screamed Yoochun, tears slowly slipping out from his eyes.
Instead of apologizing, explaining or at least asked Yoochun for his forgiveness Junsu walked away.
The routine was started again, everything was the way it was before. Junsu picked Yoochun up, go to work, Junsu left for his classes, and return to the coffee shop to pick up Yoochun. No one spoke of what happened. It was as if it never happens. Until HE walked into the coffee shop one morning. HE walked in eyes searching for Junsu, once HE found him HE marched right over to Junsu and grabbed him into a passionate kiss. Yoochun was beyond shocked, as were everyone else in the shop.
“Hey, I miss you” the man said, after their heated kiss.
Before Junsu had a chance to open his mouth, Yoochun walked over to them and roughly grabbed the man arm and push him away from his boyfriend.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” Yoochun yelled, he was beyond furious.
“I was kissing my boyfriend, of course” smirked the man stepping over to stand next to Junsu once again.
“YOUR BOYFRIEND??!!!”
“Yes”
“WHAT THE FUCK JUNSU?? WHO IS HE?” seeing the man grabs one of Junsu’s hand in his own, Yoochun moved to snatch Junsu away from the man. “STAY AWAY FROM HIM”
“I don’t thi.....” the man was cut off by the sudden outburst from Junsu, startling both Yoochun and the man.
“STOP!! JUST FUCKING STOP IT” Junsu screamed, wrenching his arm free from Yoochun’s grip. He took the man hand into his own and walked out of the coffee shop. Leaving Yoochun standing there with nothing but a shattered heart.
It had been three days since that incident in the coffee shop. Junsu never came to work. Never even call to apologize, to explain, nothing. On the forth day, Junsu finally called him.
“Hey, it’s me. Can we talk? I’ll wait for you in front of the bookstore.”
“Give me ten minutes”
It was late at night, Yoochun can easily spotted Junsu leaning against the side of his car in front of the book store across the street. Walking over, he stopped just a few feet in front of him, not even bother to look at Junsu at all.
“I just want to explain.” Junsu started
“Don’t bother.”
“Please, Yoochun. I’m sorry. I should…”
“NO!! You could have at least called me. It’s been four day Su.” Junsu reached out for Yoochun, but he refused. “I don’t want to know.”
Junsu tried once again and managed to grab a hold of Yoochun’s right arm. Being hurt and heart broken by what Junsu had done, Yoochun twisted himself free from Junsu’s death like grip and turn to leave. Angry and frustrate, not paying attention to where he was going, Yoochun was hit full force by an on coming car before Junsu can even open his mouth to warn him.
Lying lifelessly on the streets covered in his own blood, Yoochun easily gave into the pain and the darkness that overwhelm his entire body. He had nothing to live for anyway, so why should he hang on.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Guilt and regret overwhelm Junsu, as now sitting next to Yoochun’s hospital bed waiting hoping that his boyfriend would pull through. Unable to hold back the tears that stings at the back of his small tadpoles eyes, he sobbed. Words of regrets and apologies poured out of his mouth, desperate for Yoochun to understand and forgive him. Wanting, needing Yoochun to be in his arms once again. Unknown to Junsu, a single tears slide down along the side of Yoochun’s face as images of what Junsu had done to him flashes in his brain.
If I have to wake up to meet someone like you.
I choose death.
A long beeping sound from the heart monitor rang throughout the hospital room. Yoochun had made a choice. A choice to let go.
