I walked into the bookstore, looking for a book that would help me in my biology homework. Seriously, why must the teacher give me such a difficult homework? I looked at the fictional storybooks; they look interesting… well, no harm browsing them. I started reading any book that caught my attention.
‘Hey, love, ‘ a familiar voice drew my attention out from the book I was reading. That voice was too familiar. It was JongHyun’s. What is he doing here? I peered through the bookshelves and saw JongHyun, with his boyfriend – Onew. Jealousy erupted in me.
JongHyun, his real handsome, I had developed a crush on him since the first time I saw him. Hmm, I guess people call that “Love at First Sight”. But unfortunately, he already had a boyfriend.
‘Don’t call me your love,’ Onew said, his voice was ice cold.
JongHyun seemed to be shocked by his sudden coldness. “W-why?”
‘Let’s break up.’ Onew made each syllable clear.
‘Why?! Onew, no! Don’t do this to me, please.’ JongHyun was in pain.
‘Look, there’s this boy in my class. He is real gorgeous. I like him , a lot. And he likes me, too. We’re together. So, lets’ not see each other again. Even if we ever met, pretend that you never see me, okay? ‘Farewell.’ Onew told him this and he left the bookstore.
I could’nt believe my ears. Onew was breaking up with JongHyun? My feelings are mixed up, should I be happy or sad? My heart fell when I saw JongHyun. JongHyun covered his eyes with his hand and leaned back against the bookshelf. His lips trembled, soft sobs were heard. What should I do? I stood there looking at him sadly. I really want to share his pain.
The book in my hands slipped and dropped on to the floor. JongHyun removed his hand and wiped his tears away on his sleeve.
What have I done now? I can’t let JongHyun know I’m here…
I was about to turn and leave, but I froze when I found JongHyun in front of me. He was looking at me, like as if I dropped from the sky and landed there.
‘JongHyun…’ I mumbled. I was sure JongHyun would recognize me. We had met each other on the corridors of the school a few times.
JongHyun just walked pass me, out of the bookstore. That was when I felt tears rolling down my cheeks. I don’t know why, but I followed him out. I continued following him, out of the shopping centre.
‘JongHyun… I know that it hurts a lot. But…’ I said, trying to keep up with his speed. ‘But…’
He turned around. ‘But what?’ His voice was so cold that it made me jump.
‘But…’ I sobbed. Rain poured. It started to rain. People on the streets ran indoors. But neither JongHyun not I bothered to seek for shelter.
He turned around and walked away and followed behind him. The rain mixed up with the tears on both of our faces. I wanted to make sure that JongHyun would be safe.
But things don’t go as planned. Soon, I found it harder and harder to concentrate. I started to walk sideways and my vision blurred. The air was freezing. I couldn’t take it anymore. My legs went weak and I fell on to the cold and wet floor, drifting into unconsciousness.
