One day, things started to change with an old friend back. It was Leila. She was back and it isnˇ¦t going to be good.
Leila rang Ronˇ¦s doorbell knowing that he will be home on a Sunday evening, and when he opened it, he was in shock. He thought it wouldˇ¦ve been Rain on the doorstep instead of her.
Leila: Hi, can I come in?
Ron: UmˇKsure.
Leila quickly seated on the couch and looked around the apartment. Things have changed since she was last here. This place was neater and you can actually see the floor and it was clean.
Leila: Wow, you changed a lot especially this place.
Ron: Yeah, Rain influenced me.
Leila: So you guys are like best friends now?
Ron: Just say we are pretty close now. So why are you visiting me today?
Leila: I am here to say I am sorry.
Ron: Sorry for what?
Leila: Sorry for hurting your feelings back then. I knew I was a bit harsh and cruel when I broke up with you.
Ron: Itˇ¦s ok. Itˇ¦s all in the past. So how are things with you and Sammul?
Leila: We broke up a week ago.
Ron: Oh, I am sorry.
Leila: You donˇ¦t have to be.
There was an awkward silence for a minute and Leila broke it with a bit surprising words.
Leila: I miss you! Can we be together again?
Ron: Leila, listen I understand you are sad over the break up with Sammul, but things will never work out between us.
Leila: I know you still love me. Deep down, you still do.
Ron: Sorry the day you left me, the day my feelings for you left my heart as well.
Leila: Why?? Do you love someone else? Who is it?
Ron: I donˇ¦t love anyone.
Ron knew that was a lie since he did and very deeply too.
Leila: Is it Rain??
Ron: No it isnˇ¦t.
Rain approached the doorstep of Ronˇ¦s door and heard a familiarˇ¦s voice. It was Leila. Rain rang the doorbell but they couldnˇ¦t hear it since Leila was screaming at Ron. Rain used the spare keys Ron gave to her in case of emergency.
Just when Rain opened the door, Leila flung herself at Ron and hugged him tightly. When Rain saw all this, she was shocked to see them hugging.
Rain: Wow, a pretty show going on here.
Ron saw Rain and immediately pushed Leila away.
Ron: Itˇ¦s not what you think Rain.
Rain: It doesnˇ¦t matter what I think. But I am just warning you, stay away from her.
Leila: Watch your mouth. This is between me and Ron.
Rain: Fine, then I will leave. You guys have fun!
When Rain closed the door behind her, tears started to form in her eyes.
Leila was back and she wants Ron and Rain knows sheˇ¦s able to get Ron back into her hands. Over the months, she never stopped liking Ron but she didnˇ¦t want to get into another relationship after her previous one with Bosco. She knows that with Leila back, she wouldˇ¦ve no chance with Ron.
That night, Ron called Rain and Rain reluctantly answered it.
Rain: Hey!
Ron: Hi. What you saw at my apartment isnˇ¦t true.
Rain: As your friend, I just donˇ¦t you to get hurt again.
Ron: Do you want me to give her another chance?
Rain: It doesnˇ¦t matter what I think. Itˇ¦s between you two, and I donˇ¦t want to get between you guys.
Ron: Rain, I know you love me, why do you want me to be with Leila?
Rain: I never love you and if I did, itˇ¦s in a friend way.
Ron: Why are you still avoiding your feelings after your breakup with Bosco? Itˇ¦s been three months.
Rain didnˇ¦t answer and hanged up on Ron.
After several weeks, Rain saw Ron on the streets with Leila. They were looking at the windows of a shop and when Ron saw her, he waved hi and motioned for her to come over.
Rain: Hey!
Ron: Hi.
Leila: Hey, Rain!
Rain ignored Leila and stared at her feet.
Ron: So how have you been doing?
Rain: Fine I guess. I have to go, donˇ¦t want to bother you guys and your date.
When the word ˇ§dateˇ¨ came out of Rainˇ¦s mouth, the two looked at each other in a weird way and then look back at Rain. Rain was already walking the opposite way and didnˇ¦t bother to say bye to them.
Leila: Tell her before she continues to misunderstand.
Ron raced to Rain and held her back.
Ron: I think thereˇ¦s a misunderstanding between us.
Rain: I donˇ¦t think there is.
Ron: I am not going out with Leila.
Rain: Why does it concern me?
Ron: Cause I love you.
Rain: Stop being like this every time I talk to you.
Ron: I talked things out with Leila and she understands that we wonˇ¦t have a future together. I can only have one with you.
Rain looked at Ron in silence.
Ron: The girl I want to be with is you. You are the only one in my heart and thereˇ¦s no more room for anyone else. My heart belongs to you.
Rain blushed a bit.
Ron: So is that yes?
Rain gave a smile.
Ron embraced Rain and twirls her around.
*A year later*
At the wedding of Raymond and Michelle, there were many of their friends and relatives to celebrate the wedding of this couple. The bridesmaid was Rain and the best man was Ron.
When the priest declared them husband and wife, everyone cheered on for them. When Michelle was about to throw the flower banquet, Rain caught it by accident since everyone was fighting for it and it flew right into her hands.
Michelle: Guess you are marrying next?
Rain: Shut up. I donˇ¦t believe in these things.
Raymond: I think you should.
Raymond pointed at Ron and Ron was holding a ring in his hand.
Ron approached Rain and kneeled on the floor and held out the ring.
Ron: Rain, will you willing to be with me for the rest of your life?
Rain: No.
Ron looked disappointed.
Rain: I want a bigger ring.
Ron put the ring on Rainˇ¦s middle finger.
Michelle: So I guess this is a day we must celebrate!
Raymond: Of course honey, we are married plus another couple is engage.
Ron: Enjoy your honeymoon guys!
Rain: Donˇ¦t forget our souvenirs.
