Jaejoong snapped out of his thoughts and looked up. “Hey… are you feeling better?”
You smiled, “Yeah, much better. Hold on. I’ll bring you some coffee.” You headed to the kitchen and poured fresh coffee into a cup. You set it in front of Jaejoong.
“~~~~~~… I have something to ask you.” Jaejoong said.
“What is it?” you asked.
“Are you happy here?” Jaejoong inquired.
You were taken aback by his question.
“Do you want to go back home? Because if you really wanted to…” Jaejoong looked at you, “I can let you go.”
Your eyes brightened. It was from that spark that Jaejoong knew that he couldn’t keep you any longer.
“Can I really…? But what about my debt?”
Jaejoong ripped the contract in half, “You paid it off.”
“So I can…”
Jaejoong took a silent deep breath, “You may leave.”
Joy burst within you. “Really? Thank you!” You instinctively hugged Jaejoong. “Thank you oppa! Thank you so much!” You ran to your room to pack. *Dad I’m coming home!*
Jaejoong dejectedly looked at the torn contract. *Did she want to leave me that much that she can’t even see that I’m hurting?* He sighed deeply and locked himself in his room.
You burst into your house. “Dad!” you called out. “~~~~~~-ah?” “Dad!” You ran up to him and embraced him tightly. “You’re home! My little girl.” Your dad hugged you. He backed away and touched your face, “You’re so thin.” “Dad I missed you.” You hugged him once more. Your dad smiled in relief “Me too, sweetie.”
Jaejoong came home drunk that night. He expected you to be sleeping on the sofa, waiting for him as usual. *She’s really gone.* An overwhelming sensation of loneliness and coldness filled him. Jaejoong released a sigh and staggered toward your old room. He opened it and turned the light on. He stumbled to your bed and sat down. *God. I miss her like crazy.* Jaejoong closed his eyes as a tear slid down his cheek.
