Jaejoong was in his room when there was a knock on his door. “Come in.” he called.
The door opened and his maid stepped in, “Master Jaejoong, Master Kim would like to see you.”
Curious, he closed his text book and went downstairs to his father’s office. He tapped on the door. “Come in.” a deep voice replied.
Jaejoong opened the door, “You called, father?”
“Yes. Sit here, Jaejoong. I need to discuss something with you.” Master Kim waved him over.
He sat down and looked at his father, “What is it?”
“I want you to go to America with Boa.” Master Kim stated. Jaejoong’s eyes widened, “W-what?”
“I know the school year is almost over but you have enough marks at school to go to NYU right away. You will go there with Boa and live there for some time until the two of you are engaged and brought back to Korea.”
“But father-“
“No buts. You should be happy you have this opportunity to have a new experience in the Unites States. On top of that, you get to be with your girlfriend.” Master Kim grinned.
“I can’t go.” Jaejoong declared.
The smile dropped from Master Kim’s face, “What? Why not?” “I should’ve told you sooner but there is a girl that I am in love with. And it is not Boa.” Jaejoong confessed.
“Is it that deprived bookworm next door?” Master Kim sneered.
Jaejoong’s eyes widened in surprise that his father would know but he bowed, “Yes.”
“You would choose that underprivileged trash over Kwon Comp’s daughter Boa?” Master Kim raised an eyebrow.
“She is not trash and yes I would choose her.” Jaejoong firmly affirmed.
“Unbelievable. What has she done to you? No. Kim Jaejoong, you have no choice in this manner. I am your father and as your father I demand you to be with Boa. Have you forgotten all the good times you’ve had with her? Will you break her heart now? What about your mother and me? We had such high expectations of you. If you do not marry Boa, then there is no more wealth in this family. We can not be on the top. We’ll just rot down in the bottom. Is that what you want?” Master Kim snarled.
Jaejoong was quiet.
Master Kim softened and put his hand on his son’s shoulder, “Listen to me, Jaejoong. This peasant girl you are so called in love with, it’s just temporary. I guarantee you’ll regret it if you choose her. So listen to your father and just go to New York with Boa. All right?”
Jaejoong swallowed hard then nodded.
“Good.” Master Kim smiled, pleased. “You are excused.” Jaejoong bowed and left. He absentmindedly trudged to his room and closed the door. Jaejoong sat at his desk and pulled out the hidden picture of you and Jaejoong from his drawer, “~~~~~~~~~~~~~ah… what do I do? I don’t think I can keep my promise…”
