You came home late at night.
“Hey, sweetie. How was your first day of school?” Your parents greeted you.
“It was okay.” You gave them a tired smile and kissed their cheeks.
“Tired?” your mom asked.
“Yeah. I’m going to take a shower and then go to bed.” You trudged up the stairs.
“Did you eat? Do you want me to make you something?” your mom asked.
“No. I’m not hungry.” You called back. You went into your room and set you backpack on the bed. Then you took some clothes and went into the bathroom. After taking a nice, long shower, you came out of the bathroom fully dried and clothed. You went out to your patio and leaned on the railing. You sighed and looked up at the moon *The kids in my class are mean… except for Jaejoong.* “Jaejoong. Kim Jaejoong.” You whispered to yourself.
You looked up and met eyes with…JAEJOONG!
“AH!” you screamed and fell onto the floor. “Owww.” “Whoa!” Jaejoong stepped on the ledge of his railing and leaned over, “Are you all right?!”
You sat up and cringed, “I’m fine.” You stood up and straightened your glasses onto your nose, “W-what are you doing here?”
“I live here.” Jaejoong pointed his thumb to his house with an amused expression.
You gaped at him, “You’re my next door neighbor?”
“Seems so.” Jaejoong grinned. “Cool, huh?”
You paused then nodded.
“Well, on behalf of this neighborhood, I welcome you.” “Are you like the city body president?” you asked.
“No.” Jaejoong laughed, “I just wanted to make you feel welcome.”
*You did.* you thought.
“Jaejoong-ah!”
“Coming mother!” Jaejoong answered.
He looked at you once more, “I have to go but I’ll see you around. If you need any help or want any company, I’m here.” Jaejoong gave you a friendly wink and left.
Your heart thumped fast and a smile lit up your flushed face. You went back into your room and shut the balcony door. “YES!” you started hopping up and down. You squealed with happiness.
“Is everything all right up there?” you heard your dad call.
You clamped your mouth shut and yelled, “Yes!”
“Okay.” Your dad replied.
A few seconds later, you jumped flat onto your bed and screamed into your pillow with excitement. *Kim Jaejoong lives right next to me! And we’re in the same class! I’m so lucky!*
