It was finally the final conference for the monopoly.
You and Minho arrived in the meeting room and sat down. Across from you was Boa and Jaejoong. He looked tired and sad.
You felt a pang of pity but quickly shoved it away. *Keep your eyes on the prize. Don’t let unruly emotions disrupt you.*
The judge calmed everyone down, “Now we shall start. We will count up the percentages of the stock and whoever has the most will win. No arguments. Understood?” he pointedly looked at Master Kim.
Everyone nodded.
The judge and his assistants started to add up the numbers. You interlaced your fingers into Minho’s and he gave it a tight squeeze. *Please God. I’ve worked on this for 5 years. Please let LGM win.*
The judge looked at the eager audience, “We have a tie.” Your face fell *Tie? How can that be?* “Between Lee Global Market… and Kim Corps.”
Master Kim smirked, pleased.
You and Minho worriedly glanced at each other.
“What happens now?” you asked.
“Either we come back for another meeting in the Winter,” There were murmurs of disapproval, “Or someone should give up their share of stock.” The judge replied.
Master Kim rolled his eyes “Who in their right minds would do such-“
Suddenly, Jaejoong stood up, “I will.”
Everyone turned their heads to look at the heir of Kim Corps. You gaped at him.
“Jaejoong, sit down!” Master Kim hissed.
He ignored his father, “I have 10% of the stock. If I give that to LGM… will they win the monopoly?”
The judge nodded.
“Then I willingly give them all of my stock.” Jaejoong held out a folder of documents and walked over to you. He looked you straight in the eyes and handed it to you, “Congratulations. You won the monopoly.”
You hesitantly took it from him and blinked in wonder. Master Kim stood up and roared, “Why are you doing this?!” Jaejoong whirled around and glared at him, “Because I want to make the girl I love happy.”
Everyone gasped.
“Whoa.” Minho said.
“What?!” Master Kim howled in rage, “But Boa-“
“No, father. I love~~~~~~~~~.” Jaejoong pointed to you.
Boa gasped, “Jaejoong!”
He continued, “I’ve always loved her. You’ve kept me from her for 5 years and I’ve made her miserable. I had to make it up to her somehow so I gave her MY stock. There’s nothing wrong with that. In fact, I owe her more than this.”
Master Kim grabbed his hair and growled in fury.
“And while I’m confessing everything,” Jaejoong looked at Boa, “I’m sorry. I can’t marry you. And… I’ve never loved you. During our senior year, I’ve been seeing Hee Joon behind your back. I was too much of a coward to admit that I loved her and just followed my father’s wishes. But not anymore. I learned my lesson.” He gazed at you, “I need to follow my heart.”
You swallowed hard and stared back.
“If I lose my position as heir of Kim Corps, then let it be. I’m sorry for all the trouble I caused.” Jaejoong bowed and left.
“Jaejoong, you come back here!” Boa screamed and ran after him.
Everyone started gossiping at once.
Your legs felt like jello and you stared in disbelief at what just happened *Jaejoong actually stood up for me. In public. In front of his father and Boa. He gave up the stock for me. And possibly his position as V.P. of Kim Corps.*
Minho studied you for a moment. Then he grabbed your arm and pulled you up into a stand. You looked at him in puzzlement. “Go.” He said.
“Where?”
“You know where. I know you want to go after him. Stop being a stubborn coward and go.” Minho lightly pushed you towards the door.
You looked back at him.
He tossed you his car keys, “Take my car.”
“But-“
Minho cupped your face with his hands, “Listen, you belong with him. You know you do. I know you do. Heck this whole conference room knows you do. So stop making yourself unhappy and go.”
You felt pure adrenaline rush through your veins *I need to go to Jaejoong. Right now.* You started running to God -knows -where Jaejoong is.
