The next morning, you quickly got ready for school.
“Bye, mom!” you kissed her cheek. “Bye, Mr. Lee!” you waved and ran out.
You skidded to a stop as you saw Changmin walking to school. You slowed down since you knew he didn’t like it when you were near him.
However, unexpectedly, Changmin turned around. You froze. Then he smiled, crooked his finger and signaled you over. Your eyes widened. Cautiously, you went over to him, “I’m sorry. Should I take the other path to school?”
“Want to walk to school with me?” Changmin asked.
Your eyes widened even more, “REALLY?!”
Changmin laughed, “Yes. Really.”
You beamed, “Okay!”
The two of you walked to school. You did most of the talking. All Changmin was chuckle or nod. The two of you entered the school gates. The fan girls gasped then scowled at you. You slowed down and distanced yourself from Changmin. He looked back at you then glanced at the girls. His relaxed face became tense and cold again. Changmin pulled back and grabbed your hand. He pulled you closer to him and started walking again, “And then what happened?”
You cast a wary glance at the girls then continued your story, “And then well I fell down the slide and…” you trailed on and on.
“Changmin oppa!” Hana shrieked.
You looked back but Changmin put his hand on your cheek and turned your face to the front again, “Ignore her.”
You swallowed hard and nodded.
“You were talking about the scar?” Changmin asked.
“Oh, right.” You kept on talking until you reached the hallways.
“Changmin-ah, our meeting is about to start!” Siwon called. “Coming. I’ll see you later.” He left.
You waved and happily sighed. It felt nice to have someone be attentive and listen to you ramble. For someone who was so rude and cold in the beginning, Changmin was very observant and a very good listener.
At break, you spotted Changmin. “Changmin oppa!” you ran up to him. He looked at you. “How did the meeting go?” you asked.
“Good.” He replied.
“Yay! High-five!” you high-fived him.
He lightly chuckled.
“Well, I got to go. See you later!” you brightly waved and ran off.
Changmin sighed and smiled. “Changmin and his stepsister kissing in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G.” Kyunhyun muttered.
“Shut up. She’s not my sister.” Changmin slapped Kyunhyun’s head and walked away.
Kyunhyun scowled, “Geez. Defensive little pink.”
