Startled, you woke up.
You glanced at the watch: 10:30. *Oh no! I lost valuable study time!* You curled your hair behind your ear and reached for your book. You found a note on it and read it.
You smiled a bit at Changmin’s care. *He’s really nice.* You carefully tucked the note in the back of your book and began to study once again.
It was now 12 a.m.
You wanted to study more but then something in your body didn’t feel right. You felt exhausted, weak, and really hot and cold at the same time. Shaking in pain, you packed up all your belongings. Then you trudged home. You wearily came inside and lumbered up the stairs.
Yunho was just coming out of his room. When he saw you, jealousy instantly crept back into his heart and his eyes narrowed into slits. “Did you have fun with Changmin?” Yunho sneered.
You were too worn-out to answer.
He grabbed your wrist as you passed by and spun you around. You stumbled. “Answer me! How come the rest of my fucking halfbrothers can be with you but not me? Why do you only shrink away when I touch you?!” Yunho snarled.
That was it. The end of your energy.
Your eyes rolled back into your head and you fainted. Yunho’s eyes widened in alarm and he swiftly caught your waist. “~~~~-ah, what's wrong? ~~~~-ah!”
Simultaneously, the doors of your other stepbrothers flew open. They ran out, “What’s going on?” When they saw you unconscious in Yunho’s arms, they panicked. “~~~~~~-ah!” “Shit! What happened?” Jaejoong hissed.
“I don’t know! She just fainted in my arms!” Yunho yelled. Junsu lifted you up bridal style and carried you to your room. All 4 stepbrothers followed.
Jaejoong whirled around and pointed a finger at Yunho, “You. Stay away from her. It’s partly your fault she’s like this. Pressuring her to choose you. You gave her too much stress.” Then he went into your room and slammed the door closed. Junsu, Yoochun, and Changmin were hovering over you. “Move.” Jaejoong demanded and pushed them aside. He put his hand on your forehead.
You were burning up.
“I knew she would get sick.” Jaejoong muttered.
Yoochun ran into the bathroom and wet a towel. He gently dabbed it on your forehead.
“Damn it. I should’ve brought you home.” Changmin shook his head, ashamed at himself.
Junsu brought liquid medicine. He gently slid his arm under your waist and pulled you up into his arm so that you were nestled against his shoulder. Then Junsu slipped the medicine into your mouth. He placed you back on the bed and pulled the covers over you.
“I’ll stay with her.” Yoochun said.
“No. I will.” Junsu glared at him.
“Shut up. We’ll all take turns since none of us would be willing to let the other one stay.” Jaejoong growled. “Fine.” The others agreed.
So your stepbrothers all took turns during the night. Yoochun was watching you when Jaejoong burst in at 3 in the morning, “Move. It’s my turn.” Yoochun glanced at you one last time then hesitantly left.
Jaejoong sat on the chair next to your bed. He gazed at you with a concerned look *Please be all right. Please.*
As if you had heard his mind, your eyes slowly opened. “Jaejoong oppa?” you whispered.
He stood up and leaned over you, “Are you awake? Are you all right? Do you want water?”
You nodded.
Jaejoong poured some water into a glass cup. You sat up in bed. Jaejoong put the cup to your lips and you drank the water. Done, you sighed.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” he asked.
You nodded.
‘If you hadn’t studied 24/7 and eaten something, you wouldn’t have fainted like this.” Jaejoong scolded.
“I know. I’m sorry I put you in trouble.” You softly said. Jaejoong softened and sat on the edge of your bed. He put his hand on your cheek and softly stroked it with his thumb, “As long as you’re okay, I’m fine. You almost gave me a heart attack when I saw you collapsed in Yunho’s arms.”
You lightly blushed, “I’m okay.”
“Good.” Jaejoong smiled.
