It had been 3 weeks since your mother’s death.
You were still traumatized and grief-stricken.
You hardly ate and slept.
Most of the time, you were crying.
One rainy night, Yunho took dinner up to your room. He knocked.
No answer.
Usual.
Yunho opened the door, “~~~~~~-ah, I br-“ He stopped when he realized that you weren’t in bed.
Unusual.
*Where is she?* Yunho set the tray of food on the night drawer and looked around your room. He noticed the calendar on your desk. Today was your mom’s birthday. His eyes widened *No… did she…?* Yunho ran out the door and went into his car. He drove to the cemetery where your mom was buried. Drenched, Yunho ran out into the darkness. He stopped at your mother’s grave.
You were huddled up in front of the grassy mound. You were shivering and Yunho couldn’t tell if you were crying or it was just the rain. He ran over, “You stupidhead! What are you doing here?! You’re going to get sick! Do you want to die, too?! Get up!” Yunho pulled you up.
You looked up at him with miserable eyes, “It’s her birthday. My mommy’s birthday.”
“I know.” Yunho’s temper disappeared.
“I d-didn’t want her to b-be a-alone.” Your teeth chattered from the cold.
“Babo. She won’t be alone. She’s in heaven with your dad. And they’re probably sad that you’re out here by yourself in the rain crying over her.” Yunho took his hoodie off and draped it over you.
“O-oppa.” You trembled.
He looked at you.
“Can you…hold me?” you asked.
Yunho’s eyes softened.
“I mean, you don’t have to.” You mumbled.
Without another word, Yunho wrapped his arms strongly around you and held you close. Tears rapidly fell down your cheeks. You wrapped your arms around him and cried into his broad shoulder, “Oppa, I miss my mom.”
“She probably missed you, too.” Yunho whispered in your ear.
You cried and cried.
Yunho determined to never let you go until you wanted him to.
