“Hey Liz!” her friend and co-star in her drama, Gen, called as she waved her over.
“Hey Gen,” she greeted. “Hi Joseph,” she said to the guy sitting beside Gen, who was also their co-star. Joseph raised his eyebrows in greeting. “Why hasn’t the meeting started yet?”
“They’re waiting for the two new presentors and the director,” Joseph said.
“And Sean,” Gen added.
“Sean’s not here yet?” Liz asked. Sean Gao was her leading man in her drama ‘Out of My League’.
“Nope,” Gen said, shaking her head. “But your OTHER leading man is,” she said, nodding this time, towards the stage.
Liz looked to where she was pointing and saw Jerry Yan sitting near the stage, talking to Vanness Wu and Ken Zhu. She rolled her eyes and turned back to her friends. “How can he not be already here? He’s a PROFESSIONAL.”
Gen and Joseph both laughed. “He must’ve done something really bad last night to receive that tone from YOU,” Joseph said. “You usually don’t hate anyone.”
Liz groaned. “He thought I was FLIRTING with him!” she said angrily. “As if I have to flirt with anyone.”
“Give him a break. You know some actors really just can’t get over themselves,” Gen said. “Especially if they’re as hot as that.”
Liz rolled her eyes and laughed. “I should’ve volunteered YOU as his co-host.”
Gen’s eyes widened. “You mean you could’ve?” she said, smiling. “Why didn’t you? Wait, it’s not too late to change, right?”
“Change what?” they heard as they laughed at Gen.
Liz turned around and saw her co-star Sean Gao standing behind her. “Hey!” she greeted, standing up.
“Hi Liz, sorry I’m late,” he said as he leaned to give her a kiss on the cheek.
----
Jerry wrinkled his nose when he saw Sean Gao across the room giving Liz Chang a kiss. He rolled his eyes. What a flirt, he thought.
“What a lucky guy,” Vanness said when he looked at Sean and Liz as well.
Ken nodded in agreement. “When do you think we’re gonna get to work with Liz Chang?”
Vanness sighed. “Hopefully soon,” he said.
Jerry rolled his eyes. “What’s wrong with you?” he asked, confused by his friends’ actions. “She’s just a girl.”
Ken and Vanness raised eyebrows at him.
“How can you say that?” Vanness asked. “She’s one of the most beautiful girls around!”
“I heard she’s really nice too, you know, friendly and sweet,” Ken said.
“Perfect,” Vanness added.
“Yeah, perfect,” Ken agreed, looking back at her direction.
“Please, she’s hardly perfect!” Jerry said, frowning. “She’s too…” he paused to think… and think… and think. What was it about Liz Chang that made her less than perfect? It definitely wasn’t her attitude. She was always cheerful and friendly, she could lighten anyone’s mood with her smiles. And there was no question about her good looks. She wasn’t actually ALWAYS late either. She proved that by coming on time today. He furrowed his eyebrows.
“What’d I tell ‘ya?” Vanness turned to Ken when Jerry still hadn’t anything. “She’s perfect.”
Ken nodded. “You don’t have to tell me twice.”
Jerry shrugged and slumped in his seat. “I still don’t get what you see in her,” he said, looking at Liz, annoyed that Sean had his arm around her shoulders. He hadn’t heard about them being a couple. How come they were so close now? Just because he was her co-star… How unprofessional, he thought and then suddenly felt someone cover his eyes. “Hey!” he said, and then heard someone giggle. There was no mistaking that giggle anywhere. “Barbie,” he said, starting to laugh. “If you don’t move your hand out my eyes, I’ll—“
“You’ll what?” Barbie Hsu cut him off as she drew back her hands and smiled at him.
“Tickle you until you die of laughter!” Jerry said, standing up and starting to tickle Barbie.
Barbie laughed as turned away from Jerry, who was also laughing as he tried to reach for her.
Barbie’s sister Dee Hsu laughed as well when she slumped on the chair Jerry had been sitting at. “Where’s Vic?” she asked the F2.
“He’s just a guest so he doesn’t need to come to the rehearsal,” Vanness told her.
“We didn’t know YOU'D be here,” Ken said. “Your names weren’t in the program.”
“Oh, it was a last minute thing,” she explained. “We only even found out a day before the first meeting. Were you guys there too?”
“No,” Vanness replied. “Jerry was, though.”
“I was where?” Jerry suddenly said, popping up behind him. He and Barbie both looked exhausted.
“At the first TNMA meeting,” Ken said, and then chuckled as he faced Dee. “But only technically.”
Dee raised an eyebrow and Vanness and Ken laughed as they told the sisters about how Jerry fell asleep at the first meeting.
----
Liz frowned when she heard yet another laugh from the direction of the stage. She turned her head and saw Jerry and Barbie making faces at each other. She rolled her eyes. At least they’re not giggling like little girls anymore, she thought.
“You okay?” Sean asked, looking at her.
She smiled mildly, feeling a little better. She nodded and looked towards Jerry and Barbie again. He had never been that friendly around HER. Of course, he’d known Barbie for a lot longer than her, but still…
“Are you sure you’re okay?” Sean said, interrupting her thoughts. “You seem a little preoccupied.”
She gave him a bright smile as she shook her head to clear it. “It’s nothing,” she said, listening again to the story Gen had started to tell earlier. What was she doing looking at Jerry Yan’s direction anyway?

::author's note::
I'm not sure about the spelling of ASOS' last name. Is it Hsu or Xu? Sorry, if Hsu is wrong.
Anyways, regarding the question as to what was up with Jerry when Liz and he were on a 'date', he was uptight because he hated that Liz wasn't taking their work seriously and only cared about eating dinner. I'm sorry it wasn't that clear and he just looked as if he was having one of his moods. I don't know if Jerry's moody in real life, but, for this story, he's just really... very professional.
You'll get it later on (I hope).
