“You’re still sleeping? Do you know what time it is?” Dave shouted from the other end of the line. “You just missed your photo shoot with Ella! What were you thinking?”
“I was tired, okay?” he said, sitting up on his bed.
“Well, you better pull yourself together quick. You’ve got a meeting with the Armani advertisers at 3, and an interview with the Times at 4. You also have to make an appearance at Ella’s movie premiere at 6,” he told him.
Jerry yawned and started to get out of bed, when he suddenly stopped. “Hey Dave, can you just cancel all my meetings for today? I really don’t feel like doing anything today.”
“Cancel all the—do you realize what you’re asking me to do?” Dave said, annoyed and not understanding. “If you don’t go to your meetings, you might lose some of your contracts. If you don’t release a statement about the—“
“Look, I’m really tired, okay?” he said, cutting him off. “I think I’ll just go to the beach today.”
“The beach?!” Dave exclaimed. “Why didn’t you rest last night after the TNMA? I told you to rest because you had a lot scheduled for today. What were you doing instead of resting last night anyway?”
“Well,” Jerry said, grinning and leaning back on his bed. “I had a date.”
