After Josh walked Allie to her apartment, he decided to have a few drinks at the bar. It was a habit he had when he was not feeling good. Sitting at the bar made him feel even more depressed at his relationship with Allie. He always felt that she was alot more shy but today proved it to be much more than that.

Josie was sitting at a table with a group of friends she met a few weeks back at the same bar. Her eyes glanced at the handsome guy that sat by himself at the bar. One of her friends seemed to notice "Go talk to that guy." Lisa (Angie Cheung) said brightly when she noticed Josie looking at the guy.

Josie smiled "Not my type." she shook her head. Suddenly a sly smile crossed her face "You hit on him." she pointed to her good looking friend Lisa.

Lisa snickered "Girl, I'm not that brave." the group laughed in agreement.

"No. Let me explain. He's actually a boyfriend of one of my good friends. I want to test him, he knows what I look like. So why don't you go." she pushed her friend.

Lisa debated it for a few minutes and ended up nodding "Sure, anything for a female friend." she got up and smoothed down her tight black dress. "Wish me luck." she gave Josie and the others a wink of the eye and went on her way.

Josh called for another beer when he felt a warm hand on his shoulders. He turned to see a sultry girl with a long dark maine, her black dress was tight enough to see every curve. "Yes?" he asked.

She leaned on the counter, letting her hand rest on his shoulder as she moved it down his arm ever so softly "Can you buy me a drink?" her voice was barely a whisper.

He nodded "Sure." he waved to the bartender. "Get her a beer." he ordered.

Lisa smiled seductively "Thanks, handsome. What's your name?" she leaned back at the counter while playing the sly one, her eyes locking with his.

"Why do you want to know?" he asked the question with another question.

She shrugged slightly "Just wondering. I like to thank the guys that buys me drinks."

"It's in the phone book. Look it up." Josh said sarcastically. He was a tee bit drunk.

"A guy with an attitude, I like that." she didn't seem faltered by his comeback. "My name is Lisa." she brought out a delicate hand for him to shake.

Josh looked at her hand as if it was some foreign object "What kind of name is...Lisa?" he asked, his drunken voice taking over. She could smell the alcohol on his breathe. She glanced over at Josie's table where some seem to be laughing at her defeat. She lifted her hand and made a cutting of the neck motion to Josie, indicating her failure to seduce her friend's boyfriend.

Josie nodded as she waved Lisa back, taking her place as she slumped on the stool next to Josh. "Hey." she said casually.

Josh looked up at her "What do you want?" he grunted.

"Nothing." she said defensively. "What's with all the alcohol?" she pointed to his empty shot glasses.

He lifted himself from the seat and turned to face her "When people are...sad...they drink." his words were dismantled.

Josie paused for a few seconds to clear out his words "Sad? You? Why? I mean you have a great girlfriend, not to mention your job as a delivery boy is as stable as it gets."

Josh was only sober enough to catch the fact that Josie did not know of his identity. "You don't like me do you?"

She laughed brightly "Like you? I can barely tolerate you." she was being brutally honest "But what can I do? Allie likes you, eventhough I don't agree with your relationship-"

He stared at her strangely as he cut her off "What do you mean by that?"

"Don't get me wrong, it's just our first impression was not that good. All that bickering? It was fun, don't you admit?" she said lightly.

He chuckled in his drunken stage "Fun...I'm not sure what that means anymore."

"Oh come on, don't get all drama queen on me. No one's life is any better or worse than yours." she said a matter of factly.

"Tell it to the judge." he pointed to the sky.

Josie sighed "Look, just because I don't like the fact that you're dating Allie, doesn't mean I have to hate you. If you have something to talk about, you can tell me. But you don't have to trust me..." her words were totally contradicting each other but it gave Josh peace of mind.

"She doesn't even like me, so why is she even with me?" he muttered.

Josie's smile brightened "She doesn't like you?"

Josh glared at her through blood shot eyes "Can you smile a little wider?"

She quickly dropped her smile "Sorry. Go on." she leaned in closer for him to continue his expressions.

"Why do girls say they like someone when they actually like another person?" he asked almost with frustration.

Josie sighed "That's women for you." he rolled his eyes and she knew it wasn't helping. "Look, sometimes feelings are expressed through gratitude or pitiness. But it doesn't make it unreal. Maybe she does like you...in her own little way. Have you tried talking to her about it?"

"If I didn't, I would not be sitting here drinking my life away and talking to a person that can barely tolerate me." Josh sighed.

"I see..." she began to feel sorry for the guy. She felt that he really did like Allie, maybe even more than she could imagine. "Look, if you want, I'll talk to her for you."

He looked at her with pure suspicion "How can I trust you?"

She shrugged while getting off the stool "You don't have to, maybe I'm just out to get you. To make your life a living hell...." she threatened with a smile. "Take care, and stop drinking, you won't be able to drive home." she smiled and left him in his own misery.

He smiled to himself, it was a while since a girl made him smile. Well, everyone but Allie.

The next day at the restaurant, Josie had a change of attitude. She was not all over Sunny like how she normally was, instead she tried to talk to Allie as much as possible. "Hey, how are you two doing?" Josie asked, when she took her break at the same time Allie did. Allie had a habit of sitting by the back door while staring into space.

"Good..." she said slowly with a smile. "Its been a while since we talked, Josie. How are things with Sunny?" she knew it was a touchy subject but she wanted to clear the air after the encounter with Sunny in the street the other night.

Josie waved her hand carelessly "Oh that, I'm over it. It was never anything to begin with..." she stopped when she realized what she was saying.

"What?" Allie shook her head, not sure if she heard correctly.

"Okay, so we never dated...or never will for that matter." Josie wrinkled her nose in disgust "Yuck, its like dating your brother."

Allie laughed "That's what I thought, but seeing you guys all lovey dovey. I thought maybe it was a friendship turned to love."

She shook her head vehemently "Never!" she said firmly. The girls laughed comfortably "I saw Josh yesterday night." she tested the subject carefully.

Allie stopped smiling instantly at the sound of her boyfriend's name "Where?"

"At the bar not far from here. He seemed really upset." Josie said slowly.

She looked up at Josie with caring eyes "About me?" she guessed it on the nose.

"Yeah. He thinks you like Sunny." Josie said straightforwardly "I think he's right too."

"I don't deny there is definite feelings for him, but I can't...there's something oddly wrong about being with Sunny that just bothers me. I can't seem to figure it out." Allie said.

"Maybe you're afraid of fate?" Josie questioned.

ALlie smiled "I thought you didn't believe in that mumbo jumbo?"

"He grows on you." she quirped "Anyways, he does have a point, Josh I mean. Why be with someone you have no feelings for? Its not fair to him or to yourself."

"I know. That's why I feel guilty and if I break up with him, I will feel even more guilty that I led him on. It's not fair that he likes me and I can't do the same for him." Allie argued with herself.

"Love is not about being fair. Ever hear of 'all's fair in love and war'?" Josie asked, Allie nodded "Well, this is not the case. Because it is not fair."

Allie smiled "YOu make much more sense when you are not laughing about everything." she teased her friend. Josie gave her a pout that made her laugh "What would I do without you? My voice of reason?" she gave her friend a hug "Okay, I promise, I will treat him like a boyfriend. If my feelings are still not there, I will break it off. Nothing like giving love one last chance."

Josie nodded in agreement "That's the strong Allie we know and love! Go and get him!" she giggled happily as the girls came back to work.

Later that afternoon, Josh dropped by to see Allie. She gave him her brightest smile "Hey there stranger!" she leaned up and gave him a peck on the cheek.

He froze in his place "Was that a kiss?" he asked with a grin.

Allie laughed "No, that was a peck on the cheek."

"Hmm...how about that kiss?" he asked.

Josie was within ear shot when she snorted "Oh please. Get a room."

JOsh looked up to catch her wink at him. He smiled gratefully "Let's go to dinner." Josh asked Allie.

"Sure, just us two?" Allie teased, knowing that it would probably be just the two of them.

Josh's face fell "Actually, my parents want to see you. My mom actually..." he added sadly.

Allie knew the day would come to meet his family officially. "Okay." she said without hesitant.

His brows ruffled "Really?" she nodded firmly "After all my dad said to you?"

She smiled "After he told me I wasn't allow to see visit you in the hospital." she corrected.

He nodded "Yeah, I almost forgot about that one."

Allie laughed "Wish me luck."

"You mean wish US luck." Josh said. He gave Josie a quick wave of the hand as the two left for their dinner date. Allie gave a silent prayer to help keep her sanity when facing the devil himself, Mr. Lai.
