Sachiko quietly stood there as she watched the others walk down the hallway in front of her, laughing. Sensing that someone was watching her, she turned her head and saw Daiki standing in the doorway of one of the practice rooms, looking at her.
“Hey, Dai-chan, why did you stop moving?” Ryutaro asked from inside the room.
Daiki turned and looked at them, but said nothing as they all filed out of the dance room. When he turned back, all the girls had already turned around the corner, including Sachiko.
“Is something wrong, Daiki?” Hikaru asked.
Daiki shook his head as they all started walking towards their own rooms.
“Did she look…sad?” Daiki wondered.
“Hey, what’s that sound?” Yuto asked.
The boys all stopped in their tracks and listened as a melody started to flow through the air.
“…Someone’s playing the piano…Debussy’s Claire de Lune,” Kei identified the song.
The boys followed their ears to a nearby music room and peered in. They saw Nana sitting at the piano, playing the song. Although the door was closed, they could still clearly hear the melody.
“She’s quite talented,” Kei said after a while of listening.
The others nodded in agreement.
“No wonder she got chosen,” Yuto said.
“You’d think that her cold personality causes her to be ignored…” Keito said, thinking of how she behaved in class.
“…But who knew that her music would sound this good?” Ryosuke continued for him.
The boys continued to listen for a while longer before leaving to go back to their dorms.
“She’s like a rose that blooms only in the night…unwilling to show herself under the eyes of others,” one of them thought as he entered his room.
Miya stared at herself in the mirror as she did the new dance routine again, before stopping to frown.
“Hey, is this how you do it?” Miya asked Yuki.
Yuki shrugged. “I don’t really get it myself….”
Suddenly, Miya felt a tap on her shoulder, and turned to see Nana standing behind her.
“It’s like this,” she said, turning to face the mirror. She did the routine once before turning back to face them. “You did it correctly, you just have to you’re your arm straight back like this,” she moved her arm to show them what she meant.
“Oh, thank you!” Miya said before trying to move her arm the way Nana did. “It looks a lot better now, thanks!” Miya said, bowing a little towards Nana.
“No problem,” Nana replied before going off to practice by herself again.
“How do you do it?” Yuki asked Miya now.
“Like this,” Miya showed her in slow motion.
The girls continued to practice, helping each other out.
When the JUMP boys walked in to check up on the girls, the girls were really starting to look somewhat like a team. That is…until they noticed that one of them was missing.
“Where’s Hashimoto Kaoru?” Kota asked.
The girls all stopped what they were doing and looked around at each other. They hadn’t realized that she had left.
“That’s odd, she was here when we started,” Kazu recalled, scratching the back of her head.
“Maybe I left it in there…,” a voice suddenly echoed from the hallway.
They all turned to the door as Kaoru appeared.
“Hmm…. Ah! There it is!” she exclaimed as she went to the corner of the room and picked up a bracelet. She noticed that everyone was watching her.
She was wearing a tank-top along with a mini-skirt and boots.
“Oh, don’t mind me. I have another date in half an hour, so I won’t be staying. I just came to get this,” she said, casually holding up the bracelet.
“…Another?” Hikaru questioned.
“Where have you been?” Kota asked in a leader-like tone of voice.
“I was on a date with my boyfriend. And I have a date with my other boyfriend in half an hour, so I’ll be taking my leave now,” she said as she started towards the door.
“…Other boyfriend?” Kazu questioned this time.
“...You have two boyfriends?!” the girls except Nana and Sachiko exclaimed as it hit them.
“Yeah…. So?” Kaoru stopped and asked due to the jaw-dropping looks on their faces.
“What do you think you are doing with your life? You’re not only playing with the feelings of others, but also your own feelings when you do that! Don’t you understand?” Hikaru suddenly shouted at her.
The whole room fell silent from shock at Hikaru’s sudden outburst.
Tears began to well up in Kaoru’s eyes. “…You’re the one who doesn’t understand,” she said, leaving the room.
