Jessica: You ok?
Ray: Yea. Just tired.
Jessica *smiles*: You worked hard to make this happen.
Ray: Everyone here helped too.
Mandy: Why the sudden modesty?
Ray *glances at Mandy*: You’re not so bad tonight yourself, except for that kick you gave me.
Mandy shrugs and takes a sip of iced tea.
Ray *sitting straight up again*: Ok, gang! Let’s clean up now!
Charmaine and Jessica get up, gathering plates together. The others still remain sitting.
Mandy *goes into a slightly sitting position like Ray before*: I’d done enough already. You guys can clean up.
Wallace: You sound like Ray. Are you sure you’re not brother and sister? Like lost siblings?
Mandy sits straight up again since she realized she has similar habits to Ray. She stands up and helps Charmaine and Jessica with clearing the table.
Cyndi: Is there anything I can do to help?
Charmaine: Ummm…maybe you could help wash the dishes?
Cyndi: Ok.
She stands up and walks to the kitchen.
Wallace *jumps up*: I’ll help *walking after Cyndi*
Annie: What about me?
Mandy: Just sit here and keep Ray in line.
Ray gives her an evil look.
Then they overheard Wallace telling Cyndi something as they’re standing at the sink.
Wallace: I’ll wash it. Then you can dry it and put it back on the racks. You don’t want to get grease all over your hands like that.
Cyndi: It’s ok. I’m used to it.
Wallace: No, I insist! *smiling at her*
The others look at Wallace and Cyndi and then at one another.
Ray *in a low voice so only the group in the living room can hear him*: I don’t think they had enough dessert yet! *Brings his tongue out in a sick-like motion & shivers, wrinkling his face*
Alice *maintaining the low tone as Ray*: I think my brother found his angel.
Ray *leaning forward in his seat*: Angel?
Alice leans forward also, clearing her throat. The others stop what they’re doing and lean in to listen.
Alice: When Wallace and I were little, we used to play in this field and stayed until really dark to see the stars come out. In our teen years, it became our favorite spot to hide out whenever we couldn’t solve a problem. He told me one day about his dream of finding his angel. He said that if he ever finds a girl good enough to be his wife, it’s his angel. ‘Cause he said nice girls are rare.
Ray goes into this laid back position again. The others either resume their clean up or sits back into their normal position.
Charmaine and Jessica bring the dessert plates into the kitchen for Wallace to wash while Mandy sits down again. Mandy couldn’t help but goes into the laid back position again. It’s one of her long time habits.
Kevin looks down at her, smiling. She smiles back at him. Annie spots that and continues to observe them for more information.
Ray’s looking up at the ceiling, looking like there’s something quite important up there that he needs to acknowledge.
Ray sits straight up when Charmaine and Jessica come back.
Ray: We need to get to work, Kev.
Kevin *snapping his attention to Ray*: Yes and it’s getting quite late now.
Jessica: We’ll just divide the work up. It’ll be faster.
Ray *looking at Jessica*: Don’t you have a project to type up?
Jessica *smiles*: It’s not due until Friday.
Ray *stands up*: Ok, let’s get to work then.
Kevin gets up also, grabbing the folder he laid on one of the shelves before, and follows Ray and Jessica into Ray’s room to finalize Mr. Cho’s plan.
The four girls chat among themselves while Wallace and Cyndi are still washing and drying dishes.
Charmaine has to move to Kevin’s spot so she could rest her back while Alice and Annie take Ray and Jessica’s place, respectively.
Another 15 minutes pass by. Wallace and Cyndi are done with dishes now and are making their way back to the living room.
Wallace: I better go, you guys. I have a little work to catch up on.
Alice *standing up*: Goodnight, you guys! I’m gong to rest too.
Cyndi: It was nice meeting you all.
Annie *standing up*: You’re leaving?
Cyndi: Yes, I don’t live here, remember?
Annie: Alright then. I’ll walk you down.
Cyndi: Ok.
Wallace: No wait. Let me take you home. It’s not safe at this hour to drive alone.
Cyndi *looking at Wallace*: I thought you said you have to catch up on work.
Wallace: I wouldn’t mind going out for a little fresh air to clear my head. *smiles*
Cyndi: Ok then. If you say so.
Annie: Goodbye then. *smiles*
Wallace opens the door for Cyndi. Then he stops at his apartment to get his car keys before walking with Cyndi to the elevators.
The 4 remaining girls look at one another before Alice and Annie say their goodbyes and goodnights, leaving also.
Charmaine and Mandy leave Kevin, Ray, and Jessica a note before they let themselves out. Mandy turns off the living room light and walks out to the hallway. Charmaine locks the door from the inside before pulling the door shut. They return to their apartment and get ready for bed.
