“Turn right here, please driver,” Wilson requested.
“Yes, sir,” The driver said.
Wilson turns around and looks towards the car that’s tagging him, smiling. He looks straight at the person and gestures for him to turn also. He turns around again when the driver has stopped. He pays the driver and gets out of the car. He stands at the curve, waiting for the other person to pull up and parks in front of him. He smiles again at the other person and reaches for the backseat door handle, getting in the car.
“I only got ten minutes so you better make it quick, Mr. Lo,” Wilson said.
The other person seems to be shocked. He ponders why and how Wilson could have known who he is. What’s more is that he has been careful these past days. How could Wilson know that he’d been following him? His worried expression must have shown because Wilson smiles again.
“Don’t be surprised that I know you were following me,” Wilson said, smiling. “In this building, there isn’t any secret.”
The other person recovers and turns around to face Wilson. “Who are you?”
Wilson holds out his right hand. “Nice to finally meet you, Mr. Lo. You’re a private detective working for Mr. Daniel Cho. Am I correct?”
Gallen shakes Wilson’s hand before answering. “You’re not just a waiter. You can’t be a waiter.”
Wilson doesn’t let go of Gallen’s hand. Gallen struggles with him but couldn’t take his hand back.
“You!” Gallen called out.
Wilson smiles. “Don’t worry, Mr. Lo. I’m not done yet. I want to tell you something. Since I already know your identity, I might as well tell you mine.” Wilson finally lets go of Gallen’s arm.
Gallen looks at Wilson more carefully. He couldn’t figure out what’s wrong but he knows that for some reason, Wilson has changed. Not just the face but the way he carries on. Gallen stays silent for the time being.
“You’re right,” Wilson said. “I’m not a waiter. In fact, I’m not even Simon or Wilson. Jacky Chu…” He pauses for effect. “…undercover cop.”
Gallen’s expression changes again. He isn’t surprised that the guy in front of him isn’t Simon. But he’s surprised that this guy is actually an undercover cop.
“I know I don’t let on the cop vibe,” Jacky said, smiling. “I’m more of a crook. Maybe that’s why they let me do undercover jobs.”
“So you’re here to link the kidnapped case and the murder?” Gallen asked.
Jacky shakes his head. “Actually, I’m here to…”
Before he could finish, someone honks at them. Gallen turns around towards the street and sees Wallace’s car. He waves to Wallace and turns his attention back to Jacky. The only thing is Jacky is gone. How did he get out without making a sound? Gallen doesn’t want to waste his time further so he pulls out and makes a left turn to get back to the apartment building.
