Wallace wakes up in the hospital, feeling all cold but much better than before. His head has stopped throbbing. He blinks a few times before getting used to the lights. He’s not surprised that he’s at the hospital. He’s more surprised that Cyndi’s sitting at his bedside. He looks to the left and sees that Alice’s sitting there, holding onto his left hand. Both girls had somehow fallen asleep. He’s not sure what time it is but he knows that he must have been here for about 7 hours.
He moves his left hand and strokes Alice’s hair a bit. She’s a good kid, he thought. He turns his attention to his right at that time, wondering how and why Cyndi is here. But he’s glad she’s here.
About that time, Alice wakes up since she has a feeling that Wallace’s hand is moving.
Alice: Ge! You’re okay!
Wallace *looks over to her again*: What did you expect? For me to not wake up?
Alice: Ge! Don’t say that!
Their talking has awakened Cyndi.
Cyndi: Mr. Huo, you’re okay.
Wallace *looks over to her*: It’s Wallace, not Mr. Huo. It’s only been a week or so that we haven’t seen each other and you forgot already?
Cyndi smiles at him. She knows that he’s okay since he can joke now.
Wallace *turns serious again*: Why are you here? Aren’t you supposed to be at work?
Alice: Ge, I called her.
Wallace looks at Alice, waiting silently for her to explain.
Alice: When we took you here, you came out of it a bit and then went back under again. But you kept mumbling Cyndi’s name so I took your cell phone to call her. *smiles*
Wallace *embarrassed*: You probably heard wrong.
Alice: Whatever, ge. I’ll just leave you to talk to jie jie now. I’ll go outside and tell Tim that you’re okay. I need to call back home also.
Wallace looks after Alice for a while and then turns his attention back to Cyndi.
Wallace: Don’t listen to her. She’s just talking rubbish.
Cyndi *smiles*: Mr. Huo, you shouldn’t be worrying about that now. You need to rest.
Wallace *sitting up*: I had enough rest. Alice shouldn’t have called you. You have work. Your supervisor will give you a hard time for this. *getting out of bed* Let me take you back to work*
Cyndi *stopping him from getting out of bed*: No need to. You need to rest. Don’t fight it.
Wallace tries to get out of bed but his knees failed him so he stumbles back onto the bed. Lucky Cyndi’s been holding onto him or he would have fall sideways off the bed.
Cyndi: I told you not to move.
Wallace *smiles weakly*: I never been this unstable since I was little. I guess work is getting to me.
Cyndi: Not only that, Mr. Zhao and Miss Chia are missing. You’re worried for them so you’re working hard to find them. Plus work.
By this time, Cyndi has helped Wallace back into bed, but he refused to lie back down. He’s just sitting there with his pillow prop up behind him.
Wallace: So, what will you tell your supervisor later?
Cyndi: I already told him. He didn’t object since it was important.
Wallace waits for her to repeat what she said to Seth earlier.
Cyndi *looks down, suddenly shy*: I told Seth that my boyfriend is in the hospital and I need to go see him right away.
Wallace *smiling*: That’s a great reason then.
Cyndi looks up at him and their eyes met. Their hands met and finally they’re an official couple as of today.

Okay, hope you guys will forgive me for being so subtle and somewhat lame. But I don't like rushing things with these two.
