Alice *breaking the silence*: Wow! Does everyone know about that?
Kevin: No. Only Ray. He managed to keep it a secret all these years now.
Alice *still in a surprised mode*: Wow!
Wallace: Could you stop saying that, please?
Alice: But I'm in shocked!
Wallace *teasingly*: You don't see Charmaine and Mandy going "Wow" like that, do you? *smiling*
Alice: Ge! *shoving Wallace*
They couldn't help but laugh. Their playful gestures seem like a rainbow coming out after the rain.
Before Alice could attack Wallace any further, the elevator door opens.
Charmaine moves toward the right, avoiding herself from blocking the door.
Wallace takes a step forward to go out. But someone rushes in, blocking his path. Luckily, he stops in time.
Wallace *surprised that the lady could run that fast*: Ms. Yeung!
Ms. Yeung *seems like she doesn't know anyone else is there except her nephew*: Kevin!
Kevin takes a step forward, but he stumbles back. Mandy reaches her hands out to support him while Charmaine walks to his right and grabs his other arm to steady him. The two girls help him make his way toward Ms. Yeung.
Wallace takes a step back to make room for Kevin.
Ms. Yeung: What's wrong with you? Come on, we'll get you check out in the hospital.
Hearing that, Kevin wiggles and swarms out of the girls' arms, proving he's ok. He walks towards her with a smile on his face.
Kevin: I'm alright, Auntie.
His words failed since he stumbles backward again. Mandy quickly steps behind Kevin and uses her hand to push him forward. Since he's taller than her and she had moved a little further back, it looks like she's just making way for him. Charmaine understands what Mandy's trying to do so she steps back right after Mandy, making their actions consistent and reasonable. But Charmaine doesn't support Kevin with her hands like Mandy because it would look too suspicious. Instead she just stands aside, having her hands behind her.
Of course Wallace and Alice know what's really going on, but they don't want to sabotage the scheme.
Kevin: I'm just a little dazed from the motions before in here.
Ms. Yeung, seeing that Kevin's fine, turns back out to give orders to someone.
Kevin and Mandy step out first. Charmaine bends down to pick the spilled grocery items. Wallace and Alice help her and they each carry a bag out. The group sticks close together once they're outside since they don't want Ms. Yeung to see that Mandy's actually supporting Kevin.
Ms. Yeung: Richard, go in there and check the car.
Richard: Yes, ma'am.
Ms. Yeung turns to another man and tells him to go check the other car for sure.
Richard *from inside*: What do you want me to do with the hole?
Ms. Yeung *surprised*: What hole?
Ms. Yeung walks back into the car to see.
The group forgot to tell Ms. Yeung about it because they were busy trying to cover up for Kevin. Ms. Yeung didn't notice before because she was occupied with Kevin's well-being.
Kevin walks back towards the car door again, with Mandy tagging behind.
Kevin: Auntie!
Ms. Yeung turns around to look at Kevin.
Kevin begins to explain how he was thrown into the back wall when the elevator was shaking. Then he went through the hole when his weight had caused the lid to fall inward. He couldn't keep himself from sliding into the opening. When he was in, the shaking motions were reversed so the lid closed. He tried to push his way out but failed. Next, he heard someone screaming and then the talking. He tried to yell out but no one seemed to hear him. He listened to the conversation a bit, resting at the same time to re-gain his energy. Then he tried to push the lid again. This time he pushed harder and faster because he was running out of air.
Kevin: And that was when Mandy helped me up.
At that time, he reaches his right hand out to take her right hand into his since her left hand is supporting his back. He's trying to cover up the reason why Mandy's standing close to him. But also to show his gratitude towards her. Mandy takes another step up behind Kevin - closing the gap between them - trying to play along, giving Ms. Yeung the impression like they're a couple.
Ms. Yeung *ponders*: That's very strange. I don't remember telling those people to do a secret panel here.
Kevin: Probably it's just an order mixed up since I remember they were working on several buildings at the same time.
Ms. Yeung: Possibly. *turning back to Richard* Did you find out what's wrong yet?
Richard: Not quite. But I think the system is newly installed so it's not used to it yet. We could call the company up later for them to check it. I say we should just call it a night for now since it's late and no one is hurt.
Ms. Yeung: Ok. I'll call that company first thing in the morning.
Richard picks the metallic plate off the floor and tries to put it back on the wall temporarily.
Ms. Yeung *walks out & stops in the middle of the elevator door, telling the crew outside*: You guys should go. We'll take care of everything tomorrow.
The crew begins to pack up their tools.
Ms. Yeung turns her attention back to Kevin. She seems to notice Kevin and Mandy for the first time. She looks at them more carefully since she was occupied with the problem before she hasn’t noticed their closeness at all. Kevin and Mandy had changed their link already. Kevin's still standing a step ahead of Mandy, but Mandy had wrap her left hand around his left shoulder because her hand was getting tired from one arm supporting from the back. Her right hand is now gripping tightly onto his right arm, creating cuddly and natural gesture for a couple.
Ms. Yeung darts her eyes to Charmaine who's standing nearby with her hands on her hips. Wallace is leaning against the wall between the two elevators. Alice is sitting at a small chair nearby.
Ms. Yeung: You all should go get some rest. I'm sure you have work tomorrow.
They all said goodbye to Ms. Yeung and heads toward the staircase to go up to their floor. Wallace opens the door and lets everyone go through ahead of him.
When they're out of sight and upstairs, Mandy gestures for Charmaine and the others to help her with Kevin. Charmaine and Wallace move forward, taking each side of Kevin. Mandy lets go and moves out of the way, grabbing the grocery bags from them.
Mandy walks side by side with Alice, trying to stretch her numbed hand from supporting Kevin for so long.
Kevin: My aunt's very sneaky. She might follow and investigate. You guys should hand me back to Mandy before she sees us like this.
Mandy *still stretching her hands*: Are you serious?
Alice: Don't listen to him. He's trying to trick you into holding him again. Look at his grin!
Kevin *still grinning*: I'm serious.
Alice: Sure you are!
Suddenly there's a sound of the door below being opened. Mandy - not bothering to check below first - takes two quick steps up, grabbing Kevin's shoulders. Charmaine and Wallace let go, taking the grocery bags from her again. Mandy helps Kevin up a couple steps before anyone of them speaks up again.
Alice: You got tricked, Mandy. It's not his aunt. It's some custodian dude.
Kevin *afraid Mandy's going to hand him over to Charmaine & Wallace again*: He might report to my aunt.
Mandy *shoving on his shoulder*: Sure.
Kevin: Owww...what you do that for?
Mandy: Don't say you're hurt because that custodian guy might report it to your aunt. Then she'll take you to the hospital. It would be your fault by then. So don't blame it on us.
The others smile at Mandy's way of using Kevin's technique to get back at him. Even Kevin's smiling.
Kevin *turning slightly to his right to look at Mandy*: I won't worry if I have to go to the hospital. 'Cause you'll be there with me.
Mandy *shoving Kevin on the shoulder again*: You wish!
Kevin just laughs and focuses in front again, not wanting to trip.
By this time they have reached the door of their floor. Mandy grabs the door handle with her right hand and opens it. Wallace reaches them first, holding the door once again so they could pass.
They turn left and head toward their apartment.
When they reach their apartments, Kevin reaches into his pants pocket to find his key. Charmaine already found hers and is opening the door. Wallace waits patiently nearby since Kevin's blocking his way.
Kevin *still feeling around his pant pockets*: That's strange.
Mandy: What?
Kevin: I can't find my key.
Mandy moves toward Kevin's apartment side, letting Wallace through before she tries to help Kevin remember where he might have put it.
Wallace hands the grocery he was holding to Charmaine as he passes her.
Kevin: I think I dropped it in the elevator. I'll tell Auntie about it tomorrow.
He begins to knock on the door, knowing Ray would be back by now since they‘d been trapped in the elevator for at least half an hour now.
Ray opens the door a couple minutes later.
Ray *staring at Kevin & Mandy*: Hey! You two look cute together! I knew there was something going on between you two. Didn't know you two would get together that fast!
Mandy *impatiently*: Oh shush! Help him, will you? *handing Kevin over to Ray*
Ray supports Kevin, not saying anything else since he notices the annoyed expression on Mandy's face. Mandy walks over to where Charmaine's standing when she's sure Ray did help support Kevin.
Alice hands Kevin's grocery bag to Ray also.
Kevin *turning toward the four standing on the other side*: Thanks for all your help. I'll see you around.
They exchange goodnights and go into their apartments.
