Sherry didn't answer.
"Come on, Sherry. It's okay. Everything will be okay. Anthony is not worth it."
"I love him." Sherry said weakly. "I truly did."
"I know you do. But it's time for you to get over him."
"I want to go back in." Sherry said.
"But you were barely even out here." Ada said. "Why don't you stay out here for a little while and get some air."
"No. I want to go back."
"Um, okay." Ada said as she guided Sherry back in. As they walked passed the newborns, Sherry stopped and walked over to the window. She looked in and a tear slowly rolled down her cheek.
"What's wrong?" Ada said tenderly.
"I was pregnant once."
Ada looked at her in surprise.
"But why did it have to be someone I hated's baby?"
Ada understood. "Kyle's baby?"
Sherry nodded as more tears rolled down her cheek. "Why couldn't it be Anthony's?! I love babies, but when I realized that the baby wasn't Anthony's I was devastated. I didn't know what to do. Anthony knew of this and knew I had trouble deciding whether to keep the baby. If I bear this baby, I would have to look into the face of the son of the man that raped me and caused my misery. But I didn't have the heart to have an abortion. Finally, I decided to kill it, thinking to myself I have more chances to have other babies with the man I truly love. But Anthony was to angry and finally killed Kyle."
"I'm so sorry."
"Anthony really loved me, Ada. He did." She shook Ada as she was saying this.
"I know I know." Ada said trying to calm her.
"He killed Kyle because of me. Not because of the money. He was angry about what Kyle did to me. That was the main reason. He loves me! But I don't understand why he had to go out and get another woman. Why?"
"Sherry, calm down. Everything will be okay."
"Why? Why the hell did he get anther woman?!"
"Sherry, listen to me." Ada said firmly.
"I want to see Anthony. I need to know why he did what he did. How could he betray me like that?" Sherry was bawling as if she there was no one else there.
"Sherry," Ada took Sherry in her arms and held onto her. "Just let it all out. Go on, cry it all out."
At that moment, Nicky came and saw the two on the floor. He stood there and looked at them, loving Ada more and more by the minute.
After Sherry was done crying her heart out, she went back to her room and rest.
"You were standing there the whole time?" Ada asked Nicky as they walked out of the hospital.
"Yeah."
"Oh." The two walked in silence for a while until Ada spoke up again. "So how are things going with Maggie?"
"Well, it's okay. Just that she's more annoying than ever now because she found out you an I broke up. She ask me out every break, everyday. Yup, that's about it."
Ada laughed. "That's about it, huh?"
"Yeah. So what about you? Meet anyone yet?"
"Huh?"
"Any guys yet?"
"Well, there is this one guy…"
Nicky looked at Ada. *Great, she's got another guy. I knew I should have never broke up with her.*
"I like him, and he likes me, but he just wouldn't ask me out. I don't know what to do. What do you think I should do?"
Nicky stared at Ada as they came to a stop. "What do I think?"
"Yeah, that was my question. Do you think I should just go ask him out-"
"NO!"
Ada was startle by Nicky's outburst.
"No? Why? I mean I know he likes me-"
"He doesn't like you! If he did, he would have asked you out years ago! Trust me, you're better off without him."
"Really?" Ada asked.
"Yeah. Trust me, I'm a guy. I should know." Nicky started to walk towards the parking lot.
"So you think that I would be better off without you?"
Nicky stopped dead in his tracks. *I'm hearing things! I heard her say better off without me.*
"So? Am I?"
Nicky turned around. He couldn't take it anymore. He walked up to Ada and took her hands.
"I love you Ada Choi. I always have and I always will. That guy, whoever you're talking about, is no good. If he liked you, he would have told you. He's a scaredy cat, not brave enough to ask you out. You're better off without him and I promise, I'll give you time to get over him. But after that, I will be chasing you like ants and sugar."
Ada burst out laughing. Nicky was calling himself no good.
"What? I'm serious! I know you can get over that guy. What he's got that I don't have? I promise you. If you'll just give me a chance, I'll be the best boyfriend ever!"
Ada calmed herself. "Didn't you hear what I asked you earlier?"
"Yes. You asked if I thought you'd be better off without…" Nicky thought about him hearing things. "him. And I say yes, you absolutely deserve better than him. He didn't dare tell you his true feel-"
Ada pressed her lips against Nicky and kissed him.
"Whoa! What was that-"
"You didn't hear what I asked at all." Ada said. "I asked if you thought I'd be better off without you."
"You mean I wasn't hearing things?!"
Ada laughed. "Nope."
Nicky laughed and lifted Ada up. "Oh my gosh! I'm so happy! There's nothing wrong with my ears!"
"But there's definitely something wrong with you. I've never seen anyone talk bad about himself like that."
With that, Ada ran away from him.
"Hey! Come back here!" Nicky began chasing Ada all over the place.
"You called yourself no good!" Ada teased. "Maybe you're right, I do deserve much better than you since you're a scaredy cat!"
"No! I take it back! That guy is not a scaredy cat! He's very brave! He's tough and strong! And he deserves you."
"You can't take it back!"
"Yes I can!"
"Not until you can catch me!" Ada kept on running.
"That is soo easy! Watch out! I'm coming!"
