Lauren, Bettina and Jessica had woken up early to bid farewell to their friend, otherwise, they'd regret it for the whole summer till September. They made a huge, loving group-hug before waving goood-bye to Courtney. Courtney had a sleeping bag in her hands and a blue bagpack drooping around her shoulders, but Lauren put it back on her shoulders.
"Have fun in camp, Court." Lauren smiled and hugged her best friend.
"Yeah, it's gonna be a tough time being just the three of us," Jessica added, "Remember those little muffins that come in packs of four, if we each take one, who gets the last one?"
Courtney giggled for a moment, "You'll be fine, in a few weeks, I'm gonna be back."
"You will forever sail in our hearts," Bettina blessed but stammered, "at the...pointy...part of the ship." She blurted, she did not know what that word was.
"Bow, you idiot." Jessica rolled her eyes as she corrected her.
"Oh, sorry." She replied. She placed her hands together and bowed down in front of Courtney.
"Man, Bett. You are one weird chick..." Jessica said.
The sound of the horn deafened their ears as Ms. San called for the people again. Courtney boarded the bus and waved goodbye from the window to her friends and turned her head.
The bus was full of different people, mostly of her age yet there were younger ones. She managed to sit by herself on the fourth row at the inside. Her bags and stuff were below the chairs, much like in a plane.
When Ms. San finished calling names, one was missing. "Daiton?! Are you here?"
A boy of about fifteen years of age, hurried into the bus, panting with a bag on each shoulder, "he-here, ma'am."
"Good, you're late. Sit next to Beam, over at the fourth row, over there, hurry. The bus is running late."
The fifteen year old walked over and placed the bags under his chair, panting. He then sat into the seat and closed his eyes for a second. Courtney looked over and turned to the window.
"Hey." He greeted.
"Hey," she replied.
"Wayne." He said as the bus started to move out of the huge car park and onto the road toward the Neatview Beach, the camp site.
"Courtney, nice to meet you, I'm sure."
They never said anything but she found Wayne alright, other than the panting, the perspiring, he seemed nice. On the way there, she never turned her head to face him till they reach Marine Camp.
